I heard this tune for the first time in 1990 on my dad's 8 track player. I have always been a Waylon fan, but had only heard his mid to late 70s material until then. I was addicted quick to this earlier Waylon era. Great post.
Been looking for this for years, haven't heard this since I was about 13 or 14 listening to my mom's old tapes and records. Great song and brings back some great memories. Thanks so much for uploading this
O.k., so Walker Bros. & Tom Rush, but who wrote it? By the way, without crackles and pops, it wouldn't be real. My husbands first 45 rpm was on acetate. His mama had it forever, but as it played it basically disinegrated. Thanks Bobby for All the great Waylon you always have up. Love ya!
@kiwibridge I admit i had not heard the Tom Rush version until 2 minutes ago i have admit
it is very special, but you know i am a Waylon fan .....OK this at very least equal to the Waylon version sorry i can't say any better than that ..lol i am tempted Thanks for telling me about the other version too..
yea i agree ......thanks ,there will be more. I am looking tor tunes that Waylon aint to famous for , he makes them his, when he gives them the ''treatment''
OK if you're looking for unusual try this - I think around 2001 - 02 Waylon guested on Don Imus' radio program on WFAN...and he was warm, funny, painfully honest and I think he played a song live. (Memory is a bit fuzzy can't recall the name of the song) He spoke about his amputation - but what an attitude. He accepted it as one of his life's challenges.

What I love about Waylon is that he sounds good just singing with a guitar and nothing else. Love the pics as well. Thanks
