All these mods that claim to introduce cutting edge dynamic shadows to source engine really only uncomment a few lines of code allowibg for more than one env_projectedtexture, and anyways having more than a few gives quite a hit on fps, due to them not being intended for a global dynamic lighting solution.
The flashlight uses the projected texture light as this does, but I saw the common problems with it: No View Model lighting and I didn't see you turn on your flashlight(Retail code only allows one of these entities)
Still, it looks pretty cool, nothing really new unless the problems I said above were fixed.

Portal 2 uses this a lot (env_projectedtexture), they must have enhanced it to not kill fps rate somehow. Garry Newman upgrade to source 2011 asap.

Dynamic Lighting has been around I know that. But for the Source Engine it wasn't done very well.

This was most likely coded in for this specific mod, meaning it might be something you wont see in Garry's Mod or Half Life 2.
