I visited the NECROSTORM website and read the story of the game and of the characters, and like Squalo is Plasma nemesis i think Squalo is the previous Cargo commander right?
@punxvidz no its because piranha said Squalo was plasma nemesis, and in plasma story says that plasma is the new cargo commander, but before him existed a previous commander that disapeared so i guessed it will be squalo who broke all weapon capsules and send them to earth, so plasma go to earth to stop him or something like that :p
Ok unlike some people I actually went to the site. I'm actually pretty impressed with what I'm seeing. As a long time fighting game fan it's nice to see a homage to the old 80's and 90's fighters. And the fact it uses real actors should be pretty bad ass considering today's technologies. I can't wait to see more of this game! When will we be able to see some gameplay footage?

I kind of suspect that these guys have spent most of their time making a sexy title screen and haven't really gotten down to the gameplay yet. I really hope this turns out to be a good fighter. The website promises a demo on August 1st... If a playable demo will be out that soon, there really should be some gameplay beyond the title screen and select a character screens.

I am a huge fan of fighting games and I am currently dissapointed with the lack of new fighting game franchises this generation. Hopefully we get some more information on how this would play and even some one-on-one matches pitting Plasma against Leach!

The music and all the hexagons remind me of walking into an arcade in 1999. Either that or a Sega Dreamcast commercial. I'm sure there is going to be new flare to it, but it seems to have an ancient nostalgia sense to it. That and is there a website for the music dl or something?
After watching both Death Cargo videos twice, I'm still in awe. (And I hope there is some goth-girl character, as well, who, let's say, reminds of Re-l Mayer from Ergo Proxy, for example...)

I think the game looks great and everything, good job on that, but the way you show and hold the controller is really annoying, no one cares if this is fake or not, it's obviously not, don't be afraid to post short videos, it's still better than seeing someone fiddle with a pad!

I mean this in the nicest possible way, but this looks kinda like what you'd get if someone did a current gen version of one of those 90s MK knock offs like Way of the Warrior or something... but the graphics are pretty impressive and as long as whoever's making the game understands what it is that makes a good fighting game good, manges to make a diverse cast while maintaining balance, and the game gets enough exposure we could be looking at the start of something pretty impressive here.
@Bynoe Yes, I think this is Necrostorm purpose for all their products: bring back the old 80-90's memories, with a never seen before looks, using the now day technology.
But DeathC, the gameplay are inspired on recent products like street fighter 3. So YES the character are really balanced (for example Leach is slow and fierce like Zangief and Hugo: he make little jump, but he have a long "attack damage range" ecc.)
@piranhasoldier You don't wanna total rehash how old school games looked, i mean look at mk they have used the same formular but gave it a new gen feel and look how popular it is! If this is still in beta I would say scratch the old mk feel and go for the new gen mk feel at least, because I assure you the old mk feel will not sell well, especialy from some unknown company.
They seem talented but they are going in the wrong direction, feel wise. If I had there talent, I wouldn't go for this look
@Bynoe I like it. There were a lot of failed MK knock-offs back in the day, it's been many many years since something new had surfaced. This game actually looks pretty damn good, less of a "knock-off" and more of an "Inspired By", kinda like what Killer Instinct did, ahh Killer Instinct, if only Necrostorm could've bought the IP. :P
Ignore what all these salty guys are saying. The game looks great, the transitions between attacks looks as smooth as the graphics, love the ambient menu music that kicks into the heavy goth techno beat. Dying to see the characters land attacks on each other. Show us Leach!
Remember, nothing is as salty and prude as the fighting community. Keep the fans posted on news and this game has the potential to go very far.

so let me recap this..
1. An indie-producer that's NOT sold out to a publisher that's full of shit
2. Back to the roots with gaming, focused on actual playabilty and good details instead of squeazing in 902354 characters and game modes.
3. So far, the Athmosphere seems AWESOME.
4. Actual character design, instead of having all characters just with different colored outfits and tweaks.
5. soundtrack sounds a lot like early & Old School EBM - pure awesome..

I dont mean to talk out of subject but this game will be one of those that is probably gonna be so amazing that the damn company wont make a sequel just like Urban Reign wich was a combination of open field street fighting with tekken soul calibur collaborating to make set game and it had a amazing soundtrack but anyways thanks for showing more of this cutting edge quality game

I think the game looks great and everything, good job on that, but the way you show and hold the controller is really annoying, no one cares if this is fake or not, it's obviously not, don't be afraid to post short videos, it's still better than seeing someone fiddle with a pad!
Looking forward to this game though :)

I mean this in the nicest possible way, but this looks kinda like what you'd get if someone did a current gen version of one of those 90s MK knock offs like Way of the Warrior or something... but the graphics are pretty impressive and as long as whoever's making the game understands what it is that makes a good fighting game good, manges to make a diverse cast while maintaining balance, and the game gets enough exposure we could be looking at the start of something pretty impressive here.

@Bynoe Yes, I think this is Necrostorm purpose for all their products: bring back the old 80-90's memories, with a never seen before looks, using the now day technology.
But DeathC, the gameplay are inspired on recent products like street fighter 3. So YES the character are really balanced (for example Leach is slow and fierce like Zangief and Hugo: he make little jump, but he have a long "attack damage range" ecc.)
Just wait.

@piranhasoldier You don't wanna total rehash how old school games looked, i mean look at mk they have used the same formular but gave it a new gen feel and look how popular it is! If this is still in beta I would say scratch the old mk feel and go for the new gen mk feel at least, because I assure you the old mk feel will not sell well, especialy from some unknown company.
They seem talented but they are going in the wrong direction, feel wise. If I had there talent, I wouldn't go for this look

@Bynoe I like it. There were a lot of failed MK knock-offs back in the day, it's been many many years since something new had surfaced. This game actually looks pretty damn good, less of a "knock-off" and more of an "Inspired By", kinda like what Killer Instinct did, ahh Killer Instinct, if only Necrostorm could've bought the IP. :P

Ignore what all these salty guys are saying. The game looks great, the transitions between attacks looks as smooth as the graphics, love the ambient menu music that kicks into the heavy goth techno beat. Dying to see the characters land attacks on each other. Show us Leach!
Remember, nothing is as salty and prude as the fighting community. Keep the fans posted on news and this game has the potential to go very far.

I must agree that Plasma looks ugly but i absolutely love it! I'm so sick of fighting games always needing people (especially women) to look gorgeous. I applaud the bravery in making a fighting game where the main(?)character isn't good looking. Not a monster, ninja, babe, or weightlifter. Just an ugly dude. :)
