[ Palivizumab ] Synagis is NOT a vaccine. It is a monoclonal antibody.
It is used in the prevention of RSV infections. It is recommended for certain infants that are high-risk because of prematurity or other medical problems.
i was born with this disease. i nearly died and i was in the hospital for a long time. most doctors couldn't find out what was wrong with me. it took a while, but finally a doctor came along and diagnosed me with rsv, thank god. i received treatment and i was brought back from the brink of death. i've always had many heart problems since then though. i am 19 years old now and still kicking.
As usually great information Dr. Marcus!! This information will surely help some parents that are suffering or having respiratory with their newborns. I think its great that there is available a vaccine, prevention is always the best weapon against diseases, follow the advices of this video or ask your Pediatrician for more information.
Great video, Thank you!
