That is what I meant... The Emperor never wanted to be worshiped as a god, his goal in the great crusade was not to rule, but rather to free mankind from ignorance and darkness... I find it funny that the chaos guys think they can take on the necrons and win. The necrons created the warp for the c'tan (think thats proper spelling) which they built through the energy of organic life when the c'tan consume it (because apparently it tastes better than stars). Essentially the Emperor is sitting on the Golden Throne and the Imperium's wading through ten different kinds of shit in the form of Chaos, Orks etc. Essentially, the "current" stuff isnt really being elaborated on a ton, though the Horus Heresy has a bunch of new novels out about it.
IT's said that the Emperor born from the prays and hope of the humanity to be united and to keep living once again , so i wouldn't be surprised if he is a real god in the warp even if his physical form is almost completely destroyed.

Didn't the emperor have other progeny besides the ones who turned on him? Relevant sub-question, if the emperor did indeed drop progeny and one exhibited powers similar to the emperor, wouldn't the inquisition (traditionally over zealous) mistake him/her for a witch and try to destroy the individual as a threat to the Imperium?
Each morning, I awake, pick up my Uplifting Primer, and recite the Prayer of Adulation to the Emperor. I head to the Mess Hall, and consume my blessed rations after uttering Grace to the Father of Mankind.

Certainly he got mauled fighting Horus but he survived the battle - I'm sure he would have been cleaned up somewhat before being put into stasis, and once IN stasis his death (and so any decay) was halted.. Thats my take on it - he is preserved by energy fields as well as the sacrifice of psykers so rot would not set in. The conversation at the end of the "Inquisitor" books was quite apt I thought - unknowable.

They're relatively rare. I don't recall an exact ratio, but even if it's 1 Psyker for every 1 million humans, you have to keep in mind that the Imperium consists of over a million worlds. Some of those worlds can hold as many as 500 billion people. The other thing is that humanity in 40K is quite possibly evolving to become a psychically attuned race like the Eldar. As such, more Psykers are emerging than ever before.
Well, yeah. Psykers may be become more common in the current 40K era. But the Imperium has been around for -+ 12 millenia. And thats how long the Golden Throne has been needing feeding. I dunno how many Black Ships the inquisition has but I doubt that they fly around untill they have their holds full with suitible psyjers worthy of beeing lunch for his eternal Majesty. And flying back and forth for a single or a handfull of munchies just doesn't seem very cost effective.
Food for the Emperor, replacements for the Astronomican choir, Astropaths, and other sanctioned psykers, too. There is a fleet of Black Ships tasked with visiting every world and gathering a tithe of psykers. It's a mind boggling scale, like everything else with 40K. As for the Golden Throne, we don't really know certain things about the early periods. The Emperor may not have needed any souls at all in the beginning until his condition started degrading over the millennia.

Cause pariahs are even rarer then psykers. There simply aren't enough of them to go around. Plus since their aura makes people uncomfy around them they are often killed by angry mobs or something. And u can't use them in conjunction with ur own psykers since they would cancel them out as well.
Is it ever said what kind of mortal wound the Emperor suffered and where? and If he is kept alive by the souls of the Psykers now...could that be what made him immortal in the first placce...like when he was able to come and go...could all the pschic power have been like recharging a battery..

@TheBahamaLlamas The story has been the same since 40k has been around (about 30 or so years, cant remember). Essentially the Emperor is sitting on the Golden Throne and the Imperium's wading through ten different kinds of shit in the form of Chaos, Orks etc. Essentially, the "current" stuff isnt really being elaborated on a ton, though the Horus Heresy has a bunch of new novels out about it.

IT's said that the Emperor born from the prays and hope of the humanity to be united and to keep living once again , so i wouldn't be surprised if he is a real god in the warp even if his physical form is almost completely destroyed.

At the end of the novel "Into The Maelstrom" one of the oldest daemons of Tzeentch thinks about what would happen, when the Golden Throne fails and the Emperor finally dies.
He expects that the Emperor´s mind will finally unleashed from its physical prison and he´ll absorb the Chaos Gods and turn the universe into a harmonic realm...
Imagine the Chaos Gods working together in the end to keep the status quo.

Didn't the emperor have other progeny besides the ones who turned on him? Relevant sub-question, if the emperor did indeed drop progeny and one exhibited powers similar to the emperor, wouldn't the inquisition (traditionally over zealous) mistake him/her for a witch and try to destroy the individual as a threat to the Imperium?

Each morning, I awake, pick up my Uplifting Primer, and recite the Prayer of Adulation to the Emperor. I head to the Mess Hall, and consume my blessed rations after uttering Grace to the Father of Mankind.
I then collect my gear, and thoroughly clean my Lasgun while whispering the Litany of Cleaning. I then head to the Assembly Point, where the Commander briefs us all on our missions. We all say a prayer to the Emperor as we climb aboard the Chimeras.

I imagine the Emporer to be somewhat less feeble than some of these depictions.. Certainly he got mauled fighting Horus but he survived the battle - I'm sure he would have been cleaned up somewhat before being put into stasis, and once IN stasis his death (and so any decay) was halted.. Thats my take on it - he is preserved by energy fields as well as the sacrifice of psykers so rot would not set in. The conversation at the end of the "Inquisitor" books was quite apt I thought - unknowable.

2 things, personally, i wouldn't describe the emperor as a Tyrant, and another, after the bit that said "the graves of his warriors outnumber the stars themselves", i would have put something along the lines of "yet the graves of his enemies far outnumber those"

They're relatively rare. I don't recall an exact ratio, but even if it's 1 Psyker for every 1 million humans, you have to keep in mind that the Imperium consists of over a million worlds. Some of those worlds can hold as many as 500 billion people. The other thing is that humanity in 40K is quite possibly evolving to become a psychically attuned race like the Eldar. As such, more Psykers are emerging than ever before.

Well, yeah. Psykers may be become more common in the current 40K era. But the Imperium has been around for -+ 12 millenia. And thats how long the Golden Throne has been needing feeding. I dunno how many Black Ships the inquisition has but I doubt that they fly around untill they have their holds full with suitible psyjers worthy of beeing lunch for his eternal Majesty. And flying back and forth for a single or a handfull of munchies just doesn't seem very cost effective.

Food for the Emperor, replacements for the Astronomican choir, Astropaths, and other sanctioned psykers, too. There is a fleet of Black Ships tasked with visiting every world and gathering a tithe of psykers. It's a mind boggling scale, like everything else with 40K. As for the Golden Throne, we don't really know certain things about the early periods. The Emperor may not have needed any souls at all in the beginning until his condition started degrading over the millennia.

I need to find the reference again but he is speaking to malcador when the discussion turns to him not being able to refresh next time as he will be away/busy with some project. Malcador asks if he should begin using the astropaths(way it is said is as if they had discussed using them before) can't remember the rest I also want to say that there is a sense that they have discussed malcador going on the throne.

@dunnono00 If I memory serves..I recall that the Emperor wanted to bann psykers.If that is true.I think he wanted to avoid the disaster that happend in the Eldar society.And because humans are easily corrupted.And a psyker at the side of Chaos is quite dangerous.Anway..Eldar wear wraithbone to avoid any corruption from the chaos gods or to stay away from their influence.So a humans race with many psykers would be a disaster.Seeing that the imperium is infected by demons.

Pariahs are created by fusing human victims who bear a 'pariah' gene (which severs the bearer from the warp) to Necron chassis. The pariah gene is extremely rare and confined to humanity meaning that pariahs are relatively rare, even for Necrons. They have a severe detrimental effect on the psychic powers of any psykers they come into contact with. They also radiate an unnatural aura which can have a severe unnerving effect upon their enemies, especially psykers. The anti-chaos sort of speak.

Cause pariahs are even rarer then psykers. There simply aren't enough of them to go around. Plus since their aura makes people uncomfy around them they are often killed by angry mobs or something. And u can't use them in conjunction with ur own psykers since they would cancel them out as well.

Is it ever said what kind of mortal wound the Emperor suffered and where? and If he is kept alive by the souls of the Psykers now...could that be what made him immortal in the first placce...like when he was able to come and go...could all the pschic power have been like recharging a battery..
