  • when i rod my bike before i tore it apart.....

sometimes first slips back into N. i see why now. but it didnt go into 3rd some tims from 2nd it slips into N. is it possiable for the shift drum to turn around the other way around???

  • Hi let me start off by saying im going to confuse you a little because im consfused my self...

on 0:17 pause it..... now the little nobb on the shift drum is on the right side right? on my 05 Cr250 its on the oppossite side... the left side. WHY IS THAT??

my tranny screwed up on me and i dont know why its like that. any ideas???

my Neutral in between my 2nd and 3rd. i did experiment with it and it was sooo damn confusing. PLEASE HELP ME ASAP!!!!!

  • i can't figure out how to put the kick starter in, i think im missing something, because when i keep the block open, and just put on the inner clutch basket, the gear on the kick starter doesnt move? please help!

  • Thanks for nice course of example. I am looking forward to see your videos in future.

  • correct me if im wrong, wouldnt it be better to put some oil on the bearings for the bottom end so the bearings are lubed

  • PLEASE i need help

how do i put the crank in with out a assembly tool/puller

  • How much did it cost

  • Brother, press against the inner race to put the bearing and housing onto the crankshaft. Pulling the shaft against the housing could damage the bearing.

  • iv stripped and rebuilt, hundreds of engines and not ever once used any of the "manufactures special tools"

  • where can i get the tools and about how much do they cost?

  • hi there.i have a question.i have a 2001 2 stroke cr 250.and im trying to ship my engine together with the cage to texas.will the engine starts leaking if they put the box upside down because i didnt drain the oil?thanks.

  • omg i never want to have to do that!!!!

  • IS IT THE SAME TOOL TO REMOVE AND INSTALL THE CRANK? OR IS THAT 2 SEPARATE TOOLS?

  • DONT EVER HANDLE A CRANK LIKE THIS. NEVER EVER HOLD A CRANK BY THE CONROD. YOU WILL DAMAGE THE SIDE THRUST BEARINGS. NOT GOOD.

    nICE TOOLS THOUGH.

  • hi how do i remove the pin in the crank to renew the bigend bearing thanks ;o)

  • if you dont want to spend a hundred dollars on a case puller, you can just use a steering wheel puller. thats what i did with my cr 80 and it works just fine.

  • You make it look so easy :(

  • is there any other way of putting the crank through the bearing enstead of the puller, in a safe way.

  • @theleadinbrumie Yeah, old school way! Heat the bearing up and freeze the crank and then it'll slip right through if you do it quickly enough. Using a puller is easier though but it applies a lot of pressure on the inner racing of the bearing and I don't like that.

  • whoa!!! ur damn fuckin genius mother fuck ass!!! freeze my ass!!!

  • @beemerdoctor1 Fuck you're spitting your shit about, asshole?! A lot of motorcycle mechanics use that method; why don't you counter-argue instead of talking like an ape?

  • dude you sound like cleveland from family guy and good video shame i didnt see it sonner ive just payed £600 for a bottom end rebuild

  • CAN ANY ONE HELP ME. I GOT A 2 Stroke 90cc Dinli BEAST 7.7 horse power. IT STARTS AND RUNS BUT WEN I HIT THE THROTLE IT SHUTS OFF I CLEANed THE CARB AND AIR FILTER TWICE. ITS LIKE THERES NO POWER COMING FROM THE ENGINE.

  • @deetherookie check air fuel mixture

  • @deetherookie might be that your clutch is going

  • @theleadinbrumie YOU WERE RIGHT DO HAVE ANY IDEA WHERE I CAN GET A NEW ONE?

  • @deetherookie your best bet is the supplier you got the bike from or ebay, i presume you know your way around a bike if not just take it to a bike shop and they will order the parts in for you, glad to have helped.

  • hi im hoping some one can help me, i just bough a 1990 honda cr250 and the guy told me it wont idle and he sed its been sitting in his shed for 3years, could it need a new carby?or get a carby rebuild? thanks if sumone can help

  • @AleksLovesU id say open up the carb and give the jetting a good clean, the carb is most likely blocked up with petrol varnish

  • Great vid dude, I have done this before but it was not as easy as you made it look. Tools make all the diff. Great refresher course! Keep it up!

  • this is a dumb question but how do you cheak the oil on a 95 cr 250

  • should be a peep hole on the right side of the motor under the rear brake lever

  • @nikblood99 Well its a 2 stroke so it only takes gear box oil, id just replace the oil to be safe, google how much transmission oil a CR250 takes then just drain it an replace it.

  • Great video. Man I have a 82 xr200 top end is apart, I love to learn about these first hand... Maybe I should turn around cause I don't have the tools... And I was just tinkerin

  • remember to soak those bearings in 2stroke oil.

  • man you should be my relative or something haha

  • where do you buy the pullers that split the case and pull the crank into the bering?

  • ROCKYMOUNTAINATV

    They are the Tusk brand.

  • ive been using 98 and maxima oil and i just had the carb rebuilt

  • its a 1994 ktm 250 exc 2 stroke. it kind of starts bogging down like right when you need to go to change gears. it doest quit or anything, but it doesnt run nothing like it should. its alot slower.

  • carb cleaning dude, try higher octance gas and the good quality 2-stroke oil, if it still has issues, looks like you will need to replace the rings and the head gasket

  • yea my bike did that it wud also be sputtering and it wasnt as fast as when i got it. cuz i was using unleaded so i used octane 83 and it made a difference. but im still guna rebuild the top end. and my oil ratio was way wrong.

  • how do you know when the bottom end needs rebuilt what will it do ? i just got my first bike dont know much about them

  • Comment removed

  • What make and model is it and year cause it all depends what it is so tell me and i'll tell you what I think

  • If it's a crank there should be a loud knocking sound, n if you hear the knocking while riding shut the bike down immidetly, cause if u leave it going u can risk more damage, NOT GOOD! lol

  • great job but a shame you didnt pack the bearings with grease bro. thay last longer with a bit of grease in there it wont hurt anything... but nice video 9/10

  • I have an 1987 Honda TRX250R Quad, The Water Pump seal needs to be replaced. Do you have any DIY Videos on replacing water pump seals?

  • No, sorry.:( drop by our new site (blazeofgloryoffroad), you might find something useful there.

  • @redrider187x its very easy to replace water pump seals just google it and im sure ull find someone whos posted instructions

  • i have to get or rebuild my kx 250 its just had a low and top end done on it and the crank seal whent out .. you have to split the the case and every thing for that too?

  • pretty sure you dont. if both seals went. take off your flywheel and stator. get 2 screws. screw a little into the seal. pull the seal out. freze the new seal for 24 hours. then install. same with the other side.

  • Well it should of been done when it was apart and you always replace seals and bearings when it apart

  • how long does this take you/a mechanic. How much was the crank and bearings?

  • Thank you so much for this video. I recently acquired a 01cr250 and it needs a rebuild. I can say i am mechanically inclined, but ive never taken apart a two stroke. Your video shows what to expect when it is opened up. By chance are you located any where close to California?

  • I'm in Utah, so I guess yes and no. Do you ever get to Utah to ride?

Good luck with taking your bike apart..don't be too afraid, you'll pick it up as you go if you have that inclination.

  • hey how's it going.....i have a 93 cr250 and i am changing the rear wheel bearings.........i was wondering which side of the wheel takes 2 bearings and which side takes 1..(if u could let me know it would be appreciated) thanks

  • The drive side takes two.(the side with the sprocket)

  • thanks alot

  • when u install a new crankshaft on like a for wheeler is there bearing like that u have to replace?

  • yeup!

  • You might as well replace any bearings, once youve split the cases, it makes sense, bearings are pretty cheap.

  • lol, we won't go there!:) It went pretty smooth, but there are a few outtakes!

  • post the outtakes where ya get pissed and start swearing.lol

  • These small units aren't particularly hard to do. The transmission is fairly easy. Just be careful not to allow the gears to fall off their shafts as some aren't retained with circlips. I strongly do not recommend using a blow lamp to heat up casings as you can distort the alloy. I use an oven by gradually increasing the temperature every few minutes and then letting the casings cool down gradually after fitting the bearings. That way the heat is controlled.

  • Thanks for the tip!

For those that can be careful with the propane torch it works great too!..just don't get it too hot/don't hold it in one place for too long. You want to heat it just till water will sizzle and bead up and no more.

  • great video for everyone who repair engine in 2t motorbike i give 5

PS sory for me english :D

  • absolutely superb very very helpfull

  • i have a slack in my crankshaft whats the problem????

  • i have to rebuild mine but that transmission worries me lol is it hard to put it back in

  • It's not hard at all, BUT IT"S CRITICAL to make sure before you take it out to look at it closely, take a picture of it if possible, and put zip ties around the ends to keep all the gears on the shafts(there's just 2 shafts with gears like a shishkabob and 3 forks) so you don't have to guess how it goes back together. There are large pictures on the website if you want to take a look before you take yours apart.

  • where did you buy the puller and how much was it? i found one made by motion pro but it cost 200 bucks

  • Rockymountainatv sells tusk brand which is MUCH cheaper than motion pro if you are looking for a cheaper alternative.

  • Can you list the part numbers and where you bought your crank and bearing pullers? Thanks for the video. Good job.

  • Thank you very much!

  • im doing the same thing to my 2000 cr 250 my piston shattered and went down into the crank and i got all the pieces out and the crank is fine and now im doing the seals and bearings any tips thanks

  • Check the website for a few more tips and pictures that might help in getting everything back where it goes, but make sure you check your case for damage with that kind of carnage. If the bearings don't fit tight in the case and spin etc. you may need a new case, but it's unlikely. I found case halves on ebay for under $100 if it comes to that. Good luck man!, feel free to ask more questions on the website too if you have any:) The url is listed in the vid, or visit my channel;) Thanks!!

  • howd your piston shatter was it a chap one with a defect or you didnt letyour bike warm up???????????

  • Thanks
