I messed up on the last comment...I meant to say that the sound of a Fender guitar through a Vox amp is great...even though the guitar I'm playing is a home-built one and not a Fender.
Thank you so much for taking time out to check this out and to leave such a nice review. That really means a lot to me...
Kelly, sorry to take so long getting back to you, you are so sweet and supportive to leave such a nice comment on my playing here. You are quite the talented friend yourself. Thank you so much....
Tell ya what, ho downs are getting fewer and fewer even where I live, believe it or not...but thank you so much for your review, my good friend. As always, I really appreciate it...
Wow, thank you so much! I feel so honoured to hear you say that you appreciate my clean-sound playing. I like playing this way, too, and your kind and sincere approval means a lot to me.
(blushes) wow, I had no idea that my clean guitar technique made that kind of impression on my fellow musicians.
I want you to know that it is wonderful friends like you who made this possible...people like you who encourage me and support what I do. What you are seeing now is the result of that.
Thank you!! I had to work awhile to really get half-decent as a country lead guitarist, and I still have much to learn...but it does seem to be getting a little better for me...
And there's nothing like sincere and supportive encouragement from nice people like you to better make my day. Thank you so much...
Thanks!! You know, when you're first hooking everything up on a guitar, you're just not certain...I had to do a few modifications, but Irlene came together rather well...I certainly like her looks.
You know, you're right! You really do have to get to know a guitar to really bring out your best and it's best. I truly believe that...
Thanks for checking this out, as always...
You are just the kindest and most thoughtful person...
Thank you!! I say you're an excellent person and friend...and I am thankful for your friendship. I appreciate so much your taking time to view this...
Eddie, I really, really appreciate your taking time out to check this video out. It really meant a lot to me that you did, and that you left this really nice comment.
Thanks for the greeting to Irlene, too! I've really been enjoying that guitar, she's a real sweetie, and a real "looker", too, if ya know what I mean! lol
So are you (great, I mean) and I am so fortunate to be your friend. Thank you for taking time out to check this video out and for leaving such a kind comment for me. That really touches my heart...
Putting that guitar together was so much fun! (even though I had to do some real "don't try this at home!" type tricks to get that guitar neck like I wanted, lol)
Yeah, that red body/maple neck combination is one you don't see a lot...I saw Pete Townshend with a guitar that looked like this at G8...that's about it.
Glad that you appreciate the "twangy" side of life! lol
I guess my previous comment didn't get through. I am so glad you liked this and that you thought it was awesome! That really made my day to hear that....Yeah, the Strat really did turn out nice. I like the color combination...really looked great when I first put the guitar together.
I am so glad you liked the sound of it, too...part of it is the amp. Vox amps are really great for country music...I learned about that from a Brad Paisley interview in Guitar Player magazine. Thank you so much!
So glad to hear! It's always great to know that my material pleases a terrific friend such as you!
Yeah, there's just that little extra bit of satisfaction when I play this one because of the work that went into building what it is. That is really cool. I am really glad you liked this...seriously...
I am so glad you liked this! I would almost say that I sound like I know what I'm doing here, lol. It has taken me a little while to get the hang of country shred guitar, but I like it because it is so honest. People hear what's coming off your fingers. No more, and no less.
Yeah, I guess I started building guitars out of frustration and a desire to experiment, I guess. I just had some parts left over so I made this one and a white one...anyway, thanks!
Thank you so much! I hadn't done one of these type instrumentals in a while and I thought I'd give it a try. I'd just sang kind of a serious song in my last video ("Lacey"), so I wanted to loosen up a bit. Glad you liked it!
Wow, what a nice compliment! I try to mix things up...as you can hear, this is a slightly different sound from the last lead guitar work I did! lol
Oh wow, what a compliment about Irlene, the guitar I'm playing here. Such a compliment, coming from a lady who owns and plays such beautiful guitars herself....I am so flattered! Thank you so much for your kind comments...I just love your music...
Thanks! I am delighted that you liked this so well! That makes me feel just great to hear! This is just fun music, just fun country-shred type guitar, that's all..Yeah, the guitar was just made out of a spare guitar body and neck I had lying around...looks pretty nice for a parts guitar! lol ...Thanks so much for checking this out! I really appreciate it....
You're pretty awesome, yourself! You are such a wonderful performer in your own right, and it is an honor to know you.
Wow, it is great to have the ability that I have on guitar but it took me so much time and so many years to get it! I thought sometimes it would never happen for me!
Thank you so much for your kind review, my good friend...
Woah! That's some playing my friend!! I loved it!! I only wish I could do that, hehe. I've always wanted to play like that,a great lead solo but never could. You got great gifts my man David! You could be on stages all over the world! Get ready to do some traveling. lol ;)
Thanks so much! I feel very fortunate to have the abilities I have been given with my piano, guitar, bass, and mandolin playing. Drums, too. I appreciate your belief in me, your comments are awesome! You are really supportive of people on here, and that is really cool.
Yeah, and what's so funny is that the good ole country twanging is coming out of the same brand of guitar amplifier the Beatles used! lol
Brad Paisley used Vox amplifiers, so that's where I got the idea. Great for twangin', and I love the sound!
Yeah, this is really neat to share with people....just fun guitar playing, no words to have to remember, no emotions to project, just fun! I thought it'd be a nice change of pace after "Lacey"...
AWSOME!!! 5 big stars..The Guitar is home built and it has a very crisp clean sound,,of course the man pickin makes it clean hahaha...Hey do you have some finger picks??if so do some Chicken pickin Chet Atkins style yeeeaah..That man could make one guitar sound like 3 guitars couldnt he? Take care my friend.
How in the world could I thank you enough for this wonderful compliment you have left me? What a thrill it is for me to see these kind and sincere words. Thank you so much....
I built "Irlene" from spare parts. Glad you liked the jamming here. Sorry to hear about the back issues...I would imagine that it is going to be a long while. Do take care of yourself, man....thanks for checking this out...
Thank you so much. I have wanted for a long time to get better doing country-shred type guitar playing, and although I'm still not where I want to be, I'm better than I once was. I really appreciate this compliment a lot, man!
And yes, Irlene is pretty...thanks!... I remember the first time I got everything together and bolted it all up. I stepped back and looked at it and went, "Wow!"
There aren't a lot of famous players who have guitars that look like this one, either.
I think you need to get yourself a new drummer, (haha!) but apart from that this rockz....wish i could solo like you. Great work, Bud. really mean that. 5*
PS: if thats the sound you can get from a home-made guitar, can i place an order? wonderful :)
Hey, at least the "drummer" isn't overpowering the music this time! Hey, man, I'm just glad to have one that "shows up for the gig" not drunk and unable to play! lol
You wish you could solo like me? Thanks...let me see...hmm...things I wish I could do like YOU...oh man, lost count!! Thanks, though, I know you really mean it.
Sure...all you need to sound like me is a home-made guitar, plus 29 years experience, and hours and hours of practice. How many do ya need?
Thank you so much. You are such a classy person and I enjoy your friendship and support so much...On behalf of Irlene and I , thank you so much for your support!
Sounds great David, it's always great to hear you jamming along and enjoying what you're doing. This was a great way to start my favorite day of the week "flea market Sunday". Have a great one!!!! Mark
Thanks! I figured that after such a serious song as "Lacey" that I'd lighten up a bit and just do something fun. That's what I'm going to do from now on...give folks a variety and not just do the same type of thing every time.
Ah, flea markets! Love 'em! I used to take my acoustic guitar and sing at one every Saturday afternoon for a few months. It was good experience.
Thanks! I really like just doing "kick back and have a good time" videos like this. To me, it's just sharing something fun with friends like you that makes me happy and glad to be able to do what I'm able to do. Thank you so much, Chris. As always, I really really appreciate your comments!
ZZ Top Fandango! Top that! I sure had fun with that little video. I like to do that...if I have kind of a slow, serious song like "Lacey", I'll come behind it with something fun. And chicken pickin' is just funtime for me, just a good time fun challenge for myself. I love the fact that there's no distortion to hide behind!
That's one thing I love about playing country and 50s rock.
Db, you're the best! (of course, you already knew that, right?)
Thank you so much! I really debated about posting this...I thought it was going to bore people...or that they'd had enough instrumentals from me already. I am so happy that you like it!!
