You know, I'm a huge death and thrash metal fan, but there's something about power metal that is just fucking awesome. It makes me feel like some fucking fantasy warrior about to kill a bunch of shit, it's so fucking epic and brqazenly cheesy. Death and thrash may be heavy, but they can't hope to be as epic as a good power metal tune.
@MTBowen11191993 One way is called an artificial harmonic, if you didn't know that. They sound similar to the thing in the song but I thing that is actually an effects pedal though. Maybe a wah? Not %100 sure but you can just research that stuff and most likely find what you want.
@MrSpartan341 I actually got a chance to use a Wah-wah pedal recently and found the effect. As you bend the string up, you open up the wah. It's really neat to mess with in minor keys.
Dragonland > Dragonforce. Who would you pick? Dragonland, who are very creative and productive with theire music. Sound good live, probably sound exactly like their albums live. Use awesome melodies. The use of the orchestral sound yet very powerful. Or Dragonforce, who suck live. very repetative with their songs. no feeling in their music or lyrics. yes, they use to be good but you gotta admit that they dont put enough feeling and effort in their music. i will say the new singer's voice does not work for zp's songs at all, and it doesnt sound good now when they play old stuff, the voices are too different. the new tracks they make around his vocal range are great though.
@Arwenbrand There's no set release date. The album was supposed to be released september 2 years ago, but they only just got signed again so there's no way to know what they're going to do or when it's coming out. (Could be very soon. They go into the studio May 31st)

Same for me. The first time I head TTFAF, I fell in love with it. I was looking up DF on here, and in the comments, I discovered Rhapsody Of fire, then this, then spellblast, elvenking, falkenbach, ensiferum, all that good stuff. Without dragonforce, I might have never liked music until I somehow saw this stuff.

Dragonforce had very bad times in their Inhuman Rampage album tour. the technicain did NOTHING there guitars were untuned, and the members could not even hear themselves.

Dragonforce cheats at the studio, thats why they don't sound good at the concerts. But thats a choice for tastes on music.

Every album is about something bigger than a particular thing.Holy war is about dragons, glory, freedom,faith,homeland, but actually it could be interpretated as something different. It opens your imagination.For example Manowar is great but they are telling a story and there is no space for imagination.I think this is what makes the good powermetal when it gives you the basic idea without much details (about someone and something).

I like both to be honest. But maybe thatÄs because I know dragonforce sicne about 3 years, where they only had 2 albums, didnt repeat themselves and did not pose that much around. Personally I think they both have high points, and should be seen as allies and not enemies. I call it extreme, because a lot of the power metal (I listen too at least) is like DragonLand and Edguy, and they're not that fast. And the reason I put it in quotes was to put an emphasis.
dragonforce is fake. they record there stuff regular speed, speed it up with software, then get on stage and get drunk so they have an excuse for not being able to play what's on their cd's. plus all there music sounds the same.

Dragonforce is a very nice band that performs great songs in Studio and very complicated, but they just can't play their songs live cause they record 5 guitars and 2 keyboards etc. Dragonland is a humble gruop, and they can play live, even if their songs are not too complicated. I'm a huge metal fan, I enjoyed most early Dragonforce, but I have been to their concerts as of late, and have been pissed because they were so called "drunk" on stage. If they weren't drunk, they didn't play well. I do play guitar as well as bass and have played them drunk, and of course its harder to play. From an artist's perspective though, you would think they would want to put on the best show possible...meaning not playing drunk. Majority of the bands I enjoy play sober, and I'm glad.
i also enjoy the firsts Dragonforce cds, and u are right about the idea of giving the best show; but the fact, unfortunate, is that Dragonforce has a lot of publicity, a lot of fans, girls, money, so they only.."play" in stage...but, i give the drummer 10 stars, because, even though he is always drunks as the others, he still plays very good..

ya dragonforce is a very unique band.
they blend powermetal with with videogame and electronic stuff.
i still love them and have seen them live 3 times, but i do enjoy the more powerful and epic feel of straight powermetal.
it has a far more orchistral sound and deeper lyrics.
but i still love my DF

I like both to be honest. But maybe thatÄs because I know dragonforce sicne about 3 years, where they only had 2 albums, didnt repeat themselves and did not pose that much around. Personally I think they both have high points, and should be seen as allies and not enemies. Dragonland has a much better singer than Dragonforce, while Dragonforce has much better Guitar solos, while Dragonland has near none at all, they both perform live, and therefore I think their skills can be vouched for....

dragonland is way better, i mena dragonforce is ok, i really like it but its like comparing hammerfall with blind guardian.
Hammerfall has great songs, with great riffings, but blind g has so much more.
U can like either one, the things its blind g composal of songs its much depper than just a riff, and a double bass dumming.

why do you all hate dragonforce? They are great. The skill that is needed by the guitarist to stay together and weave together their playing is spectacular. Their drummer is absolutly amazing. and so what if they cant play live? If you dont wanna listeb to a live recording of a song, then dont. And you dont have to like them. Dragonforce is a very nice band that performs great songs in Studio and very complicated, but they just can't play their songs live cause they record 5 guitars and 2 keyboards etc. Dragonland is a humble gruop, and they can play live, even if their songs are not too complicated. They are very nice and they don´t believe it as Dragonforce do. Sorry for my bad english : /

I'm a huge metal fan, I enjoyed most early Dragonforce, but I have been to their concerts as of late, and have been pissed because they were so called "drunk" on stage. If they weren't drunk, they didn't play well. I do play guitar as well as bass and have played them drunk, and of course its harder to play. From an artist's perspective though, you would think they would want to put on the best show possible...meaning not playing drunk. Majority of the bands I enjoy play sober, and I'm glad.
