udo249 - thanx for the information. I love the sound from the 60s. It´s a kind of honest music - no samples and overdubs. My hobby is to rediscover all those great bands that didn´t "broke through". Listen for example to THE ZETTLERS and their versions of "Skinnie Minnie" and "Beautiful Delilah". It´s really f....g good and with a bloody driving beat.
Nice clip that goes with the song. I ever liked it best of all my songs with the Dukes. I made it in 1968 and I sang it for myself, we recorded it that year in the Studio Walldorf near Frankfurt. This studio took recordes only german tearjerkers at that time and it was very difficult to convince the audio engineer to accept the sound we wanted.
I was 18 years , when I made the lyrics, was bad in English at school. So I didn´t really notice the mistakes. I think such mistakes fit to the song.
Even mein Deutscher Freund (My German Friend ) had to laugh at the line "I just become a lazy bone !". I'm sure he meant "Lazy Bones" , like "I'm just a lazy bones". Either way , it's brilliant. Talk about pushing the envelope ! Persons just like ......
I'm An Unskilled Worker - Dukes [Germany] - 1969 - "ONE OF THE BEST. This band UNCONSCIOUSLY created what we might consider the ULTIMATE German punk tune." - Volume 3: European Garage (Disc 2)-2000.
