Oh, I just randomly clicked on the wireframe view yesterday. It's pretty trippy, but the area where I was at it was difficult to make out the triangles.
yeah, there's a lot of things in there that can be used to boost performance too that you can't get in preferences, still think things like "renderglow" should be in preferences, that with strength and other things could be compacted down into a slider under graphics or hardware settings
First time I used Wireframe, I thought I broke something. Haha. [Exactly why new people should hold off using the Advanced menu for a while...]
Recently I found a use for it -- if I come across particle spam, I turn on wireframe and it's easier to find the source of the particles.
That is, before I found out how to turn particles off. : x
