Definitely don't let some people get to you, there will always be people that are like that but just know you have tons of support for what you do. I live in alaska and there's no language services near me so it's very helpful to see your videos! Keep doing awesome! Your very fun to watch and learn from

Aww, it would be understandable to charge money, since you have to donate your time to teach us. I would donate money, if a lot of it didn't go to rent and food and bills. Heh. You're an awesome teacher. I haven't seen a lot of people donating some of their times to blog or to make videos to teach a lot of us that are interested in Norsk. Don't worry too much about them! it seems perfectly reasonable to charge for private one-on-one lessons to me. she can't be expected to give up all the time those lessons would take without any kind of compensation.

besides, if she offered them for free there would be hundreds of ppl asking for lessons. charging would weed out the ones who aren't serious about learning

I can't believe people were telling her she she's is only teaching Norgegian for money. It is a beautiful language and she deserves to charge people for teaching it. Rosetta stone costs about 3oo dollars and its only that way because people cant sit there and teach languages for free. thats a waste and they wont make any living that way, she is doing a favor by giving you what she has giving you. back off haters.

Don't let a few jerks get you down. There are probably some people who have norwegian heritage, perhaps they remember their gramps speaking it. Your time is valuable too, and don't feel shame for charging for it, to those willing to pay for it. Sometimes you may want to do it for free, because you believe it's the right thing, and want to help somebody, sometimes you may want to do it for money, because otherwise you have better things to do with your time. Nothing wrong with either.

I have no understanding whatsoever for the rude comments on your suggestion. The argument that people want to know what they get before they pay is absurd! Which other producer or provider of a service will work for free and how often do you get free samples of the services or products you buy? Very often we are ending up trying something new without being 100% certain that we will be satisfied.
