  • u cant make dis video unless u break ur remote in half

  • Screw this ill just buy one

  • i dont get it

  • Or you just use the controller.

  • why have you used it too complicated?

  • fuck, mathematics class, ohhh not again!!!!

  • Quite good sir. I believe, though, that you could use the wireless chip nRF24L01 to communicate with the iPhone directly from the Atmel microcontroller; am I right?

(Check out eBay for complete PCBs with the nRF24L01 plus all other components already soldered; cost virtually nothing).

  • y go through all this trouble when you could just use the remote controller

  • @BeArtlife

I did something similar and it can work, but you are likely to Need some more equipmemt like Sensors unless you can make shure , that nothing Is going to push the vehicle off its original path...

Anybody please correct me if i made a mistake and sorry for My Bad english^^

  • Whitout using the iphone do you think this car and it's code could do the same exact path over and over again? I think if go from point A to B and return to point A, the x an y values would lead you to the same path?, if so you could make a motion control camera rig

  • oooooooor, you can just use the remote control !

  • So how exactly do you get your iPod to work with the computer? Like, what's that screen you're on that detects touch and everything? And does the computer have to be hooked up the whole time? Is there a way you can control it without the direct connection to the computer?

  • i prefer to drive it directry from the controller!!

  • in english please?!?

  • thumbs up if u didnt even bother making it and if u did u wer glad it had subtitles blah blah blah

  • I lost interest. Thanks.

  • I understand... Does that make me nerdy? D:

  • nerd kid? do you have to really make it so difficult? lets just use the controller plzzzz

  • was that english? I am unable to comply

  • or you can just use the controller

  • You lost me at the word "Hi"

  • I love the part where he says:

The iPhone will go to the computer then the computer will go to the nerdkit and the nerdkit will go to the remote control and the remote control will tell the car to go.

    Just use the remote. o.o

  • a transistor could act as a switch or an amplifier. In this case a switch

  • What? Can u explain that without all this tech. Terms?

  • so that means every where you go you have to have a computer on you.

  • relative simplicity?

  • @noahsark769 Relative to how complicated it could be.

  • sorry I'm too stupid to understand :(

  • can you make a video showing how to make a nuclear bomb out of hotdogs, cheese, and tuna fish. thanks

  • Comment removed

  • the transistor can be used as a switch so he attaches 4 transistors to forward ,backward, left and right on the RC controller. So when he sends signal from iphone to microcontroler its send a signal to one of the four transistors which acts as a switch to control the RC car and moves the car in any direction from program on his iphone

  • just glue the remote controller to the iphone and thats it :b

  • johnny five is ALIVEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!

  • hay it works!

  • are you insane !!! just use the remote

  • Nice, next time, better lighting ;)

  • ok, so at the beginning you said "Hi" now what the hell are you talking about the rest of the time!?

  • Can i also control a bomb like that with a iphone?

  • CLAP HANDS......

  • love your work thumbs up

  • I just understood the title

  • i got everything but the computer mumbo jumbo that where those geek friends come in to play :)

  • 1 problem the car already has a controller

  • A little too disorganized, but definitely seems like a very cool idea

  • This a great video. Your high level functional specification of the system design was most informative.

  • what???

  • i was lost at hi

  • i swer that works, but is too boring, put off all the funny thing, i almost get sleep

  • woohhoo i watched this wid like 20 times and i did got it and iwe done it on my home made rc :D

  • english please????

  • who would use this let alone make it

  • good

  • i love coffee

  • u use ubantu

  • I lost track at "Hi,".

  • just like that one james bond movie but much easier

  • @secretsaregood, keep happy and stay happy, I was only messin

  • That was very cool! It is a bit Rube Goldberg but obviously it works. I like how you added the PWM to control the speed. Do the motors in the car respond linearly to the PWM or did you use a function somewhere between the interface and the motor to linearize the motor response to the input?

(for the non-technical: I am asking if car responds to your finger position on the iPhone in a way you would find "natural" and "intuitive")

  • I've understood a good part of it,but my simple question is, do you need to bring your notebook and have a 3G conection to use it outdoor ?

  • @marcelosouza yeah you should

  • i understood this is an iphone and this is a remote control car..... lol

  • i dont understand anything!!!!!!!! my head hurts!!!!!!!!

  • nice

    5*

can it work for the ipod touch too?

i hav got ipod touch 1st gen :(

  • HOLY CRAP. Genius.

Im gonna make my lawnmower iPhone controlled.

  • Loved your video! I have been making and experimenting with lots of these kind of controlled cars as well, but not for the Iphone. It never would have come to me to use what you call pulse width modulation, to control the speed of the car, I just been setting them to go slow, because my internet connection is not that grate anyway but I will keep that in mined for the next model. Thanks for the useful info!

  • He thinks everyones a nerd like him lol lol

  • @modeldat Some of us are :)

  • ihave that car

  • too much extensive and dangerous bullshit to go throught just to play with a toy

  • @AHTSvideo What in the world is dangerous about this???

  • @secretsaregood because if you make ONE LITTLE mistake when scripting, your iphone is fucked, your warranty is void, and you just wasted $200.

  • @AHTSvideo You are retarded. Get your facts right. You cant screw anything up and you can never void your warranty unless you physically do something to the phone or jailbreak it (which is easy to revert). :/

  • why would you want to write a program for the iphone to then talk to a computer then to a transmitter to then relay this information to the car?

surely a break through would be to talking directly between iphone and car and cut out the other things?

I liked the cup of tea at the end tho :)

  • @Thunderklappa Because that is how things work. Checkout the process that takes place when you click on a web link. It is much more complex than that toy car.

  • You rock!

  • why tha fuck do you think the car came with a rc transmitter???!?!?!?!

  • my grandma gave me that kind of car for christmas a few years ago, the year before she died. =(

  • sorry about your grandma, anyways, it seems that grandmas like to give out those cars, my friends grandma gave them a few.

  • @guitarbass95 thats horrible

  • That's a good story.

  • @guitarbass95

that's funny. my car gave me a dead grandma one year after she died :(

my cars name is chuck. do you know him?

also, what did your grandma look like?

  • that guy likes to shakes his hands a lot

  • He thinks that makes him look smarter.. hes just a mexican with a bad Quality Camera.... thinking hes a science dude..what he isnt.

  • I can't believe your comment didn't get a fuckton of thumb downs...

  • useless just drive with the normal remote control

  • Indeed... i wouldnt even dare fkcing up my iPhone/Ipod Touch for tht if i had one xd

  • @valteri0007 The original didn't have speed control, the mod does and it is controlled via internet: i.e. you coud log onto his web server from 12,000 miles away and remote control that car with your iPhone. Add a webcam and what do you have?

  • Nice idea.I will add new in it to control by human voice which is sound energy and it's transformation through into kinetic energy.the voice and frequincy command controller will control the exact motion and activity of the object.moving the object via touch screenn is easy seems but as well on voice commands to saves more time.

  • @mikiiiman Or do it by pitch control. You sing a 1000Hz and it moves at some rate, increase pitch and it speeds up.

  • neat idea.. but really?? Your using an ipod to tell the computer to tell the nerd kit to tell the controller to go?? REALLY? at that point its better to just pick up the controller.. Its not worth the hassel

  • Or just add potentiometers and some PWM to the controller, that would have been the most practical solution.

  • Did annyone understand how to do it?????????

    shit i feel stupid now!!!!!!!

  • Haha all that stuff was mostly understandable for me except for the physical stuff. Im good with software, not with wires

  • haha exact oppisite for me

  • @Ibly31 Is there really a difference???

  • PHP put file, python read it and interpret it to send command to the car?? remember a word "DELAY" :). How long the time for the car to receive command?

  • @sandking060 less time than your nervous system can measure ;)

  • my brain hurts!!!! :( this video is too educational for me

  • @HYPERGUY102 dude dis NERDkits,, only for NERDS :P

  • @HYPERGUY102 i'm a pretty big techy but i sort of have to agree

  • @HYPERGUY102 peanut brain

  • will work on the wii remote if u hav glovePIE

  • what program do you have to have to have on the iphone and does it work on ipod touch?

  • Hmm... since you're already combining RC and Wifi, why not add a wireless camera that streamed video to your computer and then to a custom program on your iphone. You could then control the car with a series of on-screen touches over the video, or even the built in accelerometers like in many iphone games! It would be neat for driving around your house. If you were going to do all this it would be worth constructing a custom car/chassis, but this could end up being a very cool project!

  • i didnt understand the part where everything is said

  • @munnacanada hahahaha i understand and im 12 jajja 8-)

  • do electronic or software engineer do that

    please answer

i want to know a little more about electronic engineer

  • Oh thanks great lacture I learnd how to fuck RC with my iphone thanks great. keep it up I like it

  • brilliant, thanks for great fun.

  • Awesome! I learned a lot!

  • sweet!

  • oh yeah, very FUCKING simple, twat.

  • now i kind of want a nerd kit...

    That was radical :P

  • wow see peoples brains hurt now im sorry but that proves how dum america really is but i don get it eather so ya

  • on mythbusters they have lots of real cars that they make RC. So you could controll a real car with your iphone

  • This is really confusing, but, u gotta hand it to them, they got brains.

  • omg way to much nerd talk that i cant understand.

  • Lol are you hearin this guy !!!!

"look how simple this java script is"

    WTF !!!!! My mind exploded

  • That what so cool. I've never seen javascript or php used in this manner before.

  • ?!?!? my brain hurts now

  • very informative video.

  • excellent demo, really tempting me to throw down some cash and get started in digital electronics.

  • no shi^&?

  • This was a very interesting video and a great project. Thanks for the vids!
