Kindly help. I have Canon 550d 18-135 mm lens. I want to snap the closeup of a bird sitting at a distance of 100 feet. When I tried with optical zoom, the subject looks to be closure in the viewfinder. But when shutter release button is pressed, the subjects looks to be very small with unwanted subjects all around. I wonder, why Canon people are hiding from buyers. There must be some trick in that, but I am not getting. Please help.

when you focus/zoom manually with the kit lens during a video, can you hear that later in the video, i mean the zooming and focusing, does that make a sound you can hear later..?? ( i know it does in autofocus mode, but what about manual focus..??)

impressive HD vid feature except for its plastic body which is noticebly the downside of it. The cam itself look so amature in size. Overall its OK though. They should have made it more sturdy for ergonomics considerations. I'd rather have Nikon D90.

@3Bproductionz No, u can record about 30 mins@1920x1080p 30fps progressive at about 330MB/min,but a 30 min HD vid is about 9.5GB,but it's very nice also the movie crop that makes the 18-55(28.8-88) standard lens a 207.6-634 millimeter witout changing lens,so i have a 2000mm telescope that becames 23000mm with this option!

questa 550d mi piace molto, più della nikon 5000, mi piacerebbe vedere un video che fa vedere chiaramente sia la luminosità della luce che mette a fuoco, mi serve perchè dovrei fotografare la mia nipotina, sia il rumore dello scatto, sia se.. non ho ben capito, ma se monto un obiettivo motorizzato, il fuoco lo prendo con la mano o il motore fa il suo dovere?

La dimensione del video dovrebbe essere quella della 7D. Ci sono tutte le funzioni manuali della 7D. La parte video è identica.

Older Canon models like the SX1 have magnification for HD video too.
