I played too much, duped every rare item with the 2 Memory cards cheat, and created a clan of thieves, I used the clan's name again later on Counter Strike.

I played with the Internet connection through phone cable, it means I paid every minutes of time played online. All my monnies gone, but the game was awesome...

I'm not sure people realize how freakin complex this composition is. The keyboard at the start is offset so much to the 3/4 beat. It's amazing!

And friends, I too have very fond memories of this game. I teared up as soon as I heard the keyboard come in when I pressed play x_x

@dontchuckitson Yea, the nostalgia this brings back is crazy. I can remember being in 9th grade and sneaking up until 2am playing this and then sleeping till 5-6 am and going to school. I still play this from time to time on the schtserv.com blue burst version when i want that feeling of being truly young again. And its still a blast to play.

Wish my older brother helped install it for me... I wanted this game for like... a year strait, but I was to young to figure out the payment and instalation and stuff. I think I tried to get on the Japanese server of Blue Burst for a while too or something.... I remember more Japanese phantasy star web pages than I should.

This brings back so many memories. I've played countless thousands of games in my life, but this.... this is my favourite. More than any other, Phantasy Star Online is my absolute favourite game. I still play it even now (though it's Blue Burst these days) on the Schthack open server. No other experience even comes close.

.... at least until Phantasy Star Online 2 hits later this year! :D :D :D

PSO 2 is also due to contain PSO 1! Considering 2 is going to be online again, I think it is a safe hope that we will be able to play 1 online again, without relying on things like schthack!

This is probably going to get alot of hate directed towards me, but I had this game when it came out on gamecube. Being an RPG fan this was a dream come true, playing it linked up on 2 TV's with a bunch of friends daily.

But once we got to level 25++ we all quit because we never did anything except a 3 move combo.. whether you use guns, magic or melee. its just a 3 hit combo, which makes for some dull gameplay..

So my question is: is the entire game 3 hit combos with no variations?

yes, and no if you play long enough you get rare weapons like ones that'll kill everything in the room for a limited amount of time, if u can't enjoy the story then, eh, but this game really shined with thousands upon thousands of people playing online back in the glory days of the dreamcast, split screens fun but just think if u enjoyed a MMO with only 3-7 of ur freinds, (thats hardly massive) imagine it the way it was suppose to be played...

Yup. And I didn't have school/work to worry about, so that game was my life. I loved it. Just lounging out in my room playing that game for days on end. Constantly ordering Chinese food. Putting a coffee-maker in my room. 3 hour naps between 30-hour gaming sessions. Having family/friends become worried about my sudden isolation. Becoming even skinnier from poor/lack of diet. Good times! =)

i remember playing this game into the wee hours of the night... trying to connect to the internet for the first time on a console game had me all excited. I never did get to connect, sadly, but i still played this beautiful game and remember hearing some of the best soundtracks and viewing some of the best sci-fi art i've seen in a game. Great memories for any gamer.

Oh yes. So many good memories. I remember bringing it to my friends house. He wasnt too interested in it and decided to mess around on his pc. I played from start to end. By the time I was on the last guy he was standing cheering me on with so much excitement that our neighbors in the apartment next to us banged the wall to keep him quiet. He later purchased a dreamcast and the v2 game although i never got to play with him. My main character was "nol'd" and i quit pretty much after that.

@DerfsonicGaming no im not advertising for them but i love this game on my dc. but u can connect the dc version to the scht server and play online if u get your friends together to do it :D i do it as well. and it even allows the pso pc players to join the dc players ( only issue is cross platform trading. some things may go a bit uhm how u say...bleh O.o)
