I have something to throw against your argument: if you want homosexuals to not act upon their attractions, how exactly are they to live? @christoferL I know many gay Christians, and I know many gay Atheists. It's not up to you who believes in what. And for age of consent it depends on the maturity of the parties. While I agree that acting on sexual desires is a choice despite people not having a choice in those desires, I do not think all urges are a matter of choice. To my knowledge, some urges are so powerful that they are irresistible in extreme cases.

So many gay people got "saved" and believed if they gave their heart to Christ that they would be cured of their "disease". They think their not praying hard enough or that they need more faith. @multitalentino Actually - I never made it to the polls last election - though I would've voted for McCain over Obama ANY TIME... /watch?v=85PDAGmX_a4 - why? Because I disagree with Obama on many positions. I saw McCain as the lesser of two evils - though neither candidate seemed to be very good to me then - or now. BTW - this has nothing to do with honesty as u try to paint it - you're obsessed with titles - political affiliations - etc.

Whether you allow yourself to lust after women or not, your preference is NOT choice. If a homosexual lives a life of celibacy he or she will remain homosexual. Sexual preference is NOT a matter of choice. I could not choose to be gay any more than a gay person could choose to be straight. Whether or not you have sex IS a choice but your sexuall preference is not. Here is a question. Why would God make people who are homosexual then make it a sin? In fact why does God make anything a sin?

@DrSpooglemon The choice is what we do with the desires. People are born with all sorts of desires - not all are good. Obvious things like murder, rape, and lying, for instance, could all be said to be inborn desires as well... but you won't hear people using the 'I was born this way' excuse to try to justify their actions (actually - sometimes people DO try to claim that) - however - being civilized (and in the case of a Christian, being God honoring) means we overcome those (sinful) desires.

@christoferL My contention is that by your belief system, if God created us, then He also created homosexuality, along with a lot of other proclivities that he then sets rules up against. It seems to me that, by this, God is a trickster. Ofcourse I don't actually believe that: I don't believe that there IS such a creator. So anything the bible has to say about homosexuality is irrelevant...
