I have always thought that it would be best if Queen did an album and tours as a 3-piece without someone like Paul Rodgers with Brian and Roger sharing lead vocals on of course John Deacon playing bass. They should have done this right after Made in Heaven.
Honestly, I don't think the lyrics really NEED an explanation because they are so straightforward with what Brian May is trying to get across to the listener. And that's what I truly love about the song. You can hear the anger and the realism of him telling the listeners to stand up for what's right in the world, and if it's being done wrong to stand up and fix it.
This is a great song. It doesn't really sound like a Queen song. Not just because Freddie and John isn't here, but it isn't build up as a typical Queen song. But it shows that Queen can do everything. It's rap in there and mostly everything else. Brian does a great job on the vocals. Make the call: 16664! Ecuality for all humanity!
this song is an insult to freddies mercurys life and wot he sang for.hppyness not pollitics and to think the state we r living in so called britan england.fuck wot a swan song.
to think freddies band ended up singing songs like this .look around in england please, politcs we mis freddie pure happy songs bri and rog come around r way u would sing its like a ghetto full of blacks and this is england.
Quit being an idiot. I'd like to see you write a song as memorable as We Will Rock You. So don't talk about bad songwriting until you have written many hits, ok? This song wasn't intended to be a smash hit, but to send out a message across the world.
shite queen woz mercury this is politics pure depressing not like r freddies music. oh ye roger and brian give up ur millions to help .cos england has run dry.
no no no. Freddie was a great vocalist. Brian is a very good compositor and giutarist, but hes vocal is very bad for me. I have listen back to the light and for me his voice is very bad
??? I don't know what to say to that comment. Did you ever listen to any of brians solo albums? Or any queen song that features brians voice? His vocal range is amazing...
But, is this queen??? for me, queen is brian may, roger taylor, john deacon and freddie mercury... for me this is a song from roger taylor and brian may...
I know, its incredible that most people call Brians voice a weak one, especially considering the power he carried on Ressurection, on his solo album, Back to the light (1992)
When not listening to this, expecting Queen, it is really great and I am really happy it is May singing, not some guest singer for both he and Taylor has such great voices! And the subject, tough one and a needed one!
Sure, any fan of them are so used to Freddie's voice and style, his spirit and zest. Sadly he was cut down in his prime. And it's no doubt he would have wanted them to go on, even if it meant finishing the album and such. And I'm willing to bet he enjoyed their voices as much as his own. It's not the same as their previous stuff. But I don't think they were trying for that anyway.
what are you talking about no bloody wow factor? it has enough wow factor to me even through my crappy speakers - imagine yourself listening to that live...:O i could do nothing but gawp!
the problem with declarations of the usefulness of man's law is that it's man's law...we'd understood the earth not to be partitioned in greed so long ago. but look what it's done. philosophical or not, we're basically functioning as maritime liquid capital. investures. ANY aim to change is more passionate and brave than some cheap pit for hooch at the club or new rims for a ride you dont need. The song is explosive and passionate... i'm sure it'd be mixed properly rather than this bootleg form
It's OK I guess but really does lack that 'Wow!' factor I guess everybody is hoping for. Just goes to show too how much Brian and Freddie (and Roger & John) needed each other as some sort of a catalyst.

i just sorta wish they'd drop the AIDS thing. i know it's a big deal, but all the songs are about death, AIDS and Nelson Mendela. it's kinda depressing, if you ask me.
anyway, i'm glad to hear that Queen can still rock. they've only done ballads since Freddie died, this song is great. i think it might be better if Paul Rodgers sang a bit in this song, though. i've never heard Brian do a rocker before.
He only sings a small part of it, he seems to rap most of the song, exept he doesnt put on that rediculous 'im a black gangster' accent thing artists like Kanye West and 50 cent do.
The song had potential, starts well, good riffs and powerfull, then in the verse it totally drops into a mish-mash and you just get headage. Compare this to "no one but you", this is a very bad song IMO.
I think the plan was to release a studio album of all the 46664 after the concert from Queen and all the artists who took part... but it never materialised. I remember seeing some studio footage on TV before the concert. Still pretty good though aint it!
Yeah, Sounds pretty damn good to me ;) It has that bond-song feeling to it somehow, Think it's the orchestral bits along with the guitar riff in the beginning..
I don't like this song at all! when they made it?
