  • ey mein hintern ist geil

  • cool!

  • This makes total sense.

  • video starts at 7:54

  • @sariglenn thanks!

  • big big sell for tm

  • bewbies?

  • what if? Thanks for creating this creativity movie!

  • Second wife ha!!

  • If only I could understand you're fuckin' language!!!!! =)

    uuuff =(

  • so inspiring. loved it.

  • May FSM forgive David for his pasta blasphemy @ 1:24:40

    He boiled for us!

    RAmen?

  • skip to 8;05 for David Lynch.

  • Creatiivity is wonderful

  • So is David in a state of TM all the time?

  • I have always heard that David Lynch was kind of a weird person. From this video, I would say nothing is further from the truth. What a nice guy.

  • @PracticalTheorist i agreed with you on that up until the 28 minute mark of the video, where he started talking about "suffocating rubber clown suits", and how to dissolve them. Then again, this suffocating rubber clown suit sounds like something that'll spice up the ol love life with the mrs.

  • For meditation in a prison context, an excellent documentary is

    Doing vipassana, doing time

and a similar experiment in the US, The Dhamma Brothers

  • The Idea Says Everything

if you catch an idea, the whole thing is there in the idea

it tells you something... a story starts unfolding

  • David Lynch's grant program doesn't include homeless individuals, veterans with post traumatic stress disorder, native americans, prison inmates and boys and girls club...... Now why would he create such a prejudice against these individuals who, in my opinion, need this activity most?

  • @xirishmagicx during the lecture it is mentioned that the country of senegal adopted TM in its prisons .I worked with Faroukh Anklesaria who was in charge of that project . being an ex convict i was able to give some insight into the difficulties

in introducing TM on such a scale in the uk . I know individual prisoners practise Tm in the USA . . maybe if you lobby your elected representitves to help theses groups. Lynch is not predjudice just pragamatic i think . homeless need homes .

  • Conciousness acts as a wave......Just like an electron without the observer......Understand this and USE it for GOOD!

  • Listen to what he says from 1:13:30 on.......stay away from the "meds" especially the psychoactive modes.....

  • Let's take Trees for example....Do they not love to be blown in the wind, just like humans do? Do they not love water, like humans do? Do they not love to BE, just like humans do? One glaring difference.....EGO. Plants have "ego", too. It's just so subdued that humans can't understand it...

  • John Hagelin OWNS, SON! RECOGNIZE, BITCHES!

  • I think that dreams are a SIGNIFICANT state of conciousness...........However, I agree that meditation, of the transcendental sort or otherwise, here is the thing, you can achieve this through your own means.........study all the aspects and understand your conciousness and you'll be able to achieve these states of mind.....It's very simple.

  • @Kostly I had a disconnect of thought....I should have said, meditation, transcendental or otherwise is key to expanding and heightening our conciousness...If we meditate on who we are, what we are, when we are, we increase our understanding of where we need to go....

  • ...."AN OCEAN OF SOLUTIONS"............Too bad our collective conciousness is not YET capable of that........however, soon, it will be FORCED upon us all......There we will have a CHOICE.....that choice MUST be correct....else we will perish, surely....

  • ...."Pardon ME?"......"I mean did I miss anything in your movies that reflect this lecture?" ......"no".........LMFAO!!!!!!! And then his words on what he believes about conciousness and TM....HAHAH A GREAT speaker!!

  • I think of these two as the "Dynamic Duo"....SO fitting....

  • People, let's stop relying on PhDs and degrees -let's start reading ourselves and thinking about truth, not some hogwash. But this is also a result of human history to subsitute things for the one and only God. Science can only teach us so much about the way things are, not WHY.

  • @hannaremnant HAHA

  • Outstanding! Now I have to find a TM teacher so I can begin to live my life the way it's suppose to be lived!

  • This sounds cool. so how do i meditate?

  • This sounds cool. so how do i meditate?

  • that was awesome,thanks..........

  • @321lawc

It's nothing close to a cult, all you have to do is to sit and close your eyes, no one's scamming money from anyone.

  • Which is why it shouldn't cost the hundreds of dollars they charge people. It is a scam and full of fraud. Go look it up.

  • @321lawc Tm costs thousands but there are lots of different meditation techniques

that are free .however if your a student apply to the david Lynch foundation for a gant to learn Tm.

  • @Danarbed Well, actually, they do. When you visit the official website of this t. meditation there are courses you are encouraged to buy. If this is so simple, why to make courses and write books about it?

  • Comment removed

  • Yeah... Some people might need tuition. And some teachers will charge more than others. But that is their choice who they choose. You can pick up many good books on the subject and learn a lot from them... One great one is only £0.01 on Amazon.

But as Danarbed says... It's hardly a cult. No one is pressuring anyone to do anything. All you have to do is sit peacefully and empty your mind... And only if you want to. :)

  • @lysergicwindow May I ask which book on amazon you are talking about? I cannot find it anywhere sadly, and am very curious about Transcendental Meditation. Thanks

  • @TheIncredibleBAGMAN Hi there... I can't remember which book I was specifically talking about now... Mainly as I have read quite a few over the last seven months... All of them good! Saying that, I must say that, despite a book's being informative, I have found that studying under a meditation master is the best. One master who I have come into contact with, and who particularly helped me out with my own practise, was Mingyur rinpoche. He's written several books on the subject of meditation.

  • @321lawc: I have learnt it for free nearly, and that is how it should be! Maharishi just was a businessman, although with knowledge in meditation. He was doing money on something that should not involve these high costs at all. It should just be given some gift for the wisdom to pass from teacher to pupils aso... No more than this. And TM, have made big business of it. Sorry for this :-) It is a good way to meditate and that is what is to give to other peoples...not the high fees!

  • Information / Consciousness can be transfer only by Electromagnetic waves

There arent Electromagnetic waves without Electron

We know Electron is very important particle

    It acts in Maxwells electrodynamics

    It acts in the atom

But how Electron acts in cell we dont know

We need time to understand this fact

And when we understand the Electron

we will know the Ultimate Nature of Reality and the material basis of Quantum Consciousness

  • People are lame.

  • i think the clip is a bit long. there were some very interesting things said, though. i think lynch has found something good, and he just get's really into what he's talking about. he's the same when he talks about film. it's just lynch

  • David's introduction sounds more like a prayer to a god. I expected that guy to pull out the Bible and have Lynch autograph it.

  • Meditation is a wonderful thing....but--this whole presentation had a creepy, culty, scientology-like tone to it. When they started talking about big fees and how it was worth it, the red flags went up. You sit down, repeat a mantra (meaningless word), and that's it. No guru can teach you anything. When someone want money for anything 'spiritual' it's time to run, don't walk, for the door. ...remember, don't drink the koolade!

  • Yea I always run when a fee is involved...one website I have used teaches you a lot of techniques about meditation and the sort and they don't charge you a dime they only accept donations so they can publish books and keep the website running. I believe their retreats are free as well.

  • way to booring? perhaps go watch some useless and pointless short funny vidoes. I found myself meditation very useful, it does work, you just have to free your mind, or just try to.. besides - sometimes doing everyday things you don't even know that you're meditating ;)

    explore, create, spread the love!

  • Wonderful, just wonderful! As a film student ,and working on my own ideas this is great. Im practicing tm now and my ideas really flow .Thanks david!

  • thank you

  • David Lynch is great and TM is amazing. It helps me a LOT.

  • I can't believe they are teaching science students this at a University. If I had a dollar every time someone used quantum physics to justify pseudoscience...ugh. Expanding your mind does not require "Transcendental Meditation". You can do it in all sorts of ways.

  • You are correct. We all have our OWN interface. Enlightenment is nothing more than learning how you interface with reality.

  • I agree. It's MYSTICISM masquerading as real science.

  • mysticism can also be scientific right?

  • No. Mysticism covers spiritual concepts like Zen...it's all very subjective and nothing can really be measured or observed.

  • what the hell is zen...

  • Haha...a concept derived from Eastern Religions concerning balance in our daily lives and being involved in the present moment. Just search it on wikipedia (dot) org man...

  • oh ok...nah im good

  • ''man'' =/

  • it may sound shit, but psychedelic drugs are an EXCELLENT way...

  • i couldn't sit through all of this... you're right of course...responsible use of hallucinogens or entheogens can dramatically alter consciousness in a positive manner. peace2U

  • Great program - it has definitely peaked my interest in this subject. If anyone knows a good source on TM and can point me the right way, I would greatly appreciate it.

  • What a gift to us all that the erudite discussion below, regarding this worthwhile forum on Consciousness, Creativity and the Brain has lent such a wealth of informed insight and subtle shading to the subject.

  • @timhollis2870 Voted up. The erudite wake us all up to a new reality....constantly....Thank GOD for those who study whatever they study....Without them, we don't understand a FRACTION of what we understand today...THANK GOD for them...............

  • @timhollis2870

I think you can simplify that; how about, hey that's cool!!

  • @timhollis2870

Your comment was classic. Thumbs up

  • weathering my intuition may be opportunity to find.

  • Ok there're "ideas" related to science but they are not in my opinion scientifically grounded I said that about "nature" because it's mention in relation to a basic level of understanding that is underlying the apparent "complexity" of appearances, "GUT" but there is eg. bio complexity too I don't deny human/nature potential, I JUST QUESTION the support to make the kind of claims done in this video A laudable feat of human mind, I think, is precisely handling complexity and capture "reality"

  • huh?

  • if we unite, tidal waves will roll across a vast ocean of pure light.

  • Is this science??? I don't know. It's interesting, beauty, inspiring, but scientific? It seems to me that some assumptions are not right at all. If nature is simple or complex for example is not something which could be so easily determined. What are the criteria that support that point of departure? Why just "one" basic unit where everything else would be reduced to? Perhaps it's b/c the kind of talk, but its too simplistic. I respect DL as a director though.

  • science, to me, has shown overwhelming evidence that nature is indeed complex. science has merely scraped the surface of nature, of life itself. i think you are disposed to doubting human potential, and the potential of the universe that surrounds you, with you.

  • i'm sorry, if you missed the science in this, you were looking past it. it's RIGHT there.

  • David Lynch gives a lot of validation to intensely creative people. He inspires people to follow their 'wind.' His motivations and drives are pure, and the movements he's making to spread 'enlightenment' will be fruitful no matter how far it does spread. I recently had a 'bliss' experience while making a video. I used some kind of meditational technique, a bit of 'automatic drafting.' I searched my heart, and it's connection to all. if u want to see it, let me know. i want to show the world.

  • Meditation is a wonderful thing but TM is needlessly expensive. For people like that woman at 36:15, I hope they find that meditation can be learned for next to nothing.
