Yes, so the gravel wouldn't fly up and the plants would stay in place.

@Jachymvda You do amazing set ups, I keep mainly reptiles but I do have a few Turtles and I have kept tropical fish also and I wouldn't have the patience to attempt something like this, I bet if a little thing went wrong its pretty frustrating

@leemcumiskey If it would be very toxic for the fish, I think Knott would not use it....

I only surely know about reptiles for them newspaper isn't toxic.

Even the printer's ink has an disinfectant effect!

@leemcumiskey MOST newspapers have gone to soy based inks.. Go GREEN and do an Aquascape..
