Really wish there was an effective way to get maya skeletons into 3DS Max Bipeds. I've tried the maya->motionbuilder->3dsmax routine and so far no real luck. It's very frustrating.

Also, every joint created by the skeleton builder is created with world-space orientation. That's a great way to get yourself beaten down in a dark alleyway by your animators ;3
I've been playing with this over the past few days. I've been able to get an almost stable animation out of it once. It's still extremely buggy. Almost none of the controls that this tool creates function properly (aside from the wrist and ankle IK controls). I've figured out a workaround for implementing a custom animator-friendly rig into this setup, but it doesn't amount to anything if the retargetting itself isn't stable. It's an amazing idea for a tool, but it needs work...
Unless I'm missing something I don't see how this is anything but destructive. Taking away all your characters rig and leaving you with Maya's ik/fk switching points is not really any usable solution, when you already have a rig in place, without destroying it. The "pull" system on the rig is not the end all be all answer to this as from what I am experiencing. How about you just let me map the key frames of the mocap rig onto my rig without any destruction of my rig. Deal? I didn't think so.
THIS IS THE ABSOLUTE BLISS! Thank you Autodesk finally Maya is drastically changed...so many new USEFUL features that users has been wishing to get for years.
