I have 2 lurchers and a saluki, the boy is saluki a rescue and the 2 girls are the lurchers. They are great fun, all rescure's I don't believe in paying for animals when there is so many out there that need loving homes and not to be pts. I don't hunt them and hate hunting they are pure pets but alas the cats and rabbits that venture into garden rarly make it out :(

hahaaa, nice to know that it's not just my lurcher that springs around the house like a lightening bolt! I love my 5 year old lurcher to pieces and wouldnt change her for the world! BTW your dog's gorgeous!!

ive had 2 lurchers and they both had their 'loopy' 5 minutes a day. made me laugh.... 'chase me chase me' : D

@DaveInBridport I also have a rather large (collie x greyhound) lurcher and no matter how much exercise he has he still goes loopy like this a couple of times a day. He usually runs on the spot like scooby-doo on our wooden floor. Sighthounds can just be crazy, fun-loving dogs.

Yup, they're not called Loopy Lurchers for nothing. Ours clocks in at 40kg, so try to restrict such freak-outs to outside. Love em to bits!!!

Sorry to hear about your dog dying its a sad time me and my dad had to take their dog (he was 12) to be put down last month its not nice but if your dog was in pain you did the absolute right thing its cruel to have a dog in pain.

Yes we have a lot of Fun with him. He has a reputation for not getting on with other dogs and for chasing anything else that moves - typical lurcher. I should be putting up another video of him very soon.

Are you able to tell me exactly what mix your Lurcher is? He is so like mine it's almost spooky! :o) (Mine came from rescue home so I'm not totally sure).

But exact same colour/ build/ eyes (eyeliner!)..

Mine does the running round the house thing too.

I am not sure exactly what sort of lurcher he is, as he is also a rescue. I know there is some Saluki in there and as he is a bit bigger then most Lurchers in the local area i am guessing that there is some Greyhound in there as well.

The Saluki makes sense to me..

Mine is bigger than any other lurchers where I live too.

I played your video to my mother and she actually thought it was my dog they're so similar.

Mine is kind of notorious where I walk him for being so enthusiastic and for tiring out the other dogs when they try to run with him lol.

Here (in Ireland) they have been nicknamed the "Poor Man's Greyhound".

I'm told that once upon a time Greyhounds were accepted in England as pretty serious currency.. and Lurchers were bred for people who couldn't afford a greyhound.
