Ich hab ihn in Greifswald und in Gotha gesehen, ich hab mich mit ihm unterhalten und er ist ein toller Mensch, er singt und einfach jeder hört zu, Jung und Alt, Groß und Klein, Dick und Dünn, Intelligent und Dumm, einfach jeder, weil er verzaubert...

Jimmy ist ein toller Kerl. Ich hab ihn mit 12 Jahren in Passau nach einem Konzert Backstage kennenlernen dürfen und ich bin schon immer ein Fan von ihm gewesen. Ich hab seine schwere Zeit mitverfolgt über die Medien und immer gehofft dass er es rausschafft aus dem dreckigen Strudel. Er hats geschafft und er ist endlich der, der er immer sein wollte. Strassenmusiker aus Leidenschaft. Er muss nicht Millionen verdienen um glücklich zu sein. Es reicht ihm, einfach nur Musik zu machen.

I've been with the Kels since 1994 and will always be a fan. Unfortunately I haven't had a chance to see them on the street and unless Jimmy or one of the others decide to come and play in Dublin I probably won't now either. Maybe I'm lucky and he does - will keep my photocam close just in case and post it here.

Until then keep on posting any live cuts you get. I'll post some of the pubclips I made so you get an idea what it's like.

Over here the song is a sports song sung by the Irish soccer/ football and rugby fans before, during and after games. But it's also historical relating to events during the Great Famine here during the 1840s.

While I hope that the family get back together again I'm happy that they all found something that makes them - and us - happy. And all of them have stuck with music, so it's not too bad. But all the solo projects make it a bit harder to keep track.

Typically Irish what he's doing there, not that strange considering he IS Irish. So he really is back to the roots. Shame I'm not going to hear him though as I live in Dublin.

Everybody here knows this song - even the tourists after two nights out - and most musicians play it. So I hear it min. once/ week either on the street or in a pub.

I have to say Jimmy's version is one of the better I've heard; he's got the right voice for it.
