  • '64 was such a great year!

  • to me they are better than the beatles.there music has meaning and feeling. the beatles had more marketing of themselves(the fab 4) and all that. it finally overtook talent and good music, like this song.

  • I don't know what's up with Gerry these days, but I caught him in the early 90's at a Beatles fest. He sang a half dozen songs - just him and his acoustic guitar. His voice was better than ever. I got to meet him afterwards and talked to him for ten or fifteen minutes. Seems like a very nice guy.

  • AIRFORCE 1!.

  • yes this is the number.

    go back in time.

    your first kiss and love.

    greetings from the netherlands

    aard

  • Shame that they use the old voice from the recordings ...

  • This sucks..first thing he's lip syncing the tune, next he's the only original member and finally he 's old enough to be the grandfather of all the new members of the band. I bet he chose these younger guys to make himself look younger.

  • I don't know, if you have to lip synch then the man must have been terrified of ppl hearing his voice as it sounds now. Maybe his voice is shot. What matters is he had it when he needed it and a great voice it was. This has always been one of my all time faves.

  • thats called lip synching

  • he is lip-syncing here.i saw gerry several times through his career and his voice is much different now.great song, just not recorded live

  • He does sound the same as in the 60"s. Amazing is right.

  • @007charris

Yes,because Gerry is miming to his sixties recording of

    "Ferry Cross The Mersey".

The German TV shows unfortunately do this a lot.

  • Absolutely Amazing!!!They sound the same as in the 60's...Unreal!!!I love it.

  • best voice ever love the song

  • @xboxer74 wow, what a beautiful song, thank you for putting it on here

  • This is a great video! The live performance is awesome. Gerry's voice is pretty much the same when he first recorded the song.

  • That is his voice when he first recorded the song.

  • Do you mean this a lip sync performance?

  • I would bet my life on it.

  • No wonder the sound I remember is exactly the same as this one. I guess you win on your bet LOL

  • hehe

    :P

  • @dropover Agreed. I think he's lip synching. The band and orchestra sound exactly like the record, too.

  • Playback

  • Gerry and the Pacemakers ROCK!!!

  • Gerry has such a great voice! Why'd he have to lip-synch on this one?... Great song always!!!

  • has to be a great place, Liverpool, if Ian McCulloch is there.

  • Makes me wish I lived in Liverpool. What a song!

  • I just can't get enough of this song

  • This is a masssive song and what a place like Liverpool...if you not come to Liverpool then you missing out on more than you can imagine.......

  • Never can get tired of the oldies

  • After all these years Gerry still maintains the same original style. Nice to bring back all the memories. Thanks Fritz5133 for posting this clip.

  • It is lol

  • I am sure that for someone born in Liverpool songs such as these must be heart melting..
