this is the best Disney movie <3 it taught me a valuable lesson when i was young. disney movies now.. nah.

I get teary not only mufasa dies straight after and simba was reassured mufasa would always be by his side, but also because it was a powerful scene ever, in terms of a powerful bond between father and son. And it all applies to real life and it's lessons

This movie transcends time itself. The classic moral of taking responsibility and maturing into an adult, is so wonderfully integrated with the story of a son who looked up to his father, and wanted to be just like him. It just makes your heart shatter when Simba sees the one person he looked up to die right in front of him. And it makes you cry when even through all the pain of the loss of his father, he can stand up and take responsibility for running away when he was needed most.

This is my favorite scene with Mufasa. It's such a touching exchange between father and son. I think this scene is the key as to why his death is so unbelievably tragic, as well as the music.

I saw this in 3-D this past Friday, and I openly WEPT during this scene. Seventeen years of watching this movie (I'm 20) and it was the first time I ever truly cried. But the wierd part about this was, my dad was actually GIGGLING at my crying, kind of like a why-are-you-being-so-emotional-you've-seen-this-movie-a-million-times sort of thing...le sigh.
