thaipusam in penang is celebrated in a very unique way. instead of the dancing to the music of urumi melam, the kavadi's enjoy the cinema songs played in shops along the thaipusam route.i've also seen kavadis decorated with manchester united and liverpool banners. so if you're going for a day-party trip, you should visit penang on thaipusam day. in addition to that you also feel the strong support of the kavadi bearers but not for god, for their favourite support football clubs. :)

in penanag we celebrate for 3 days and all the major roads in penang will be closed...

I am talking about experience...

i ahve celebrated 2 times in batu caves and 2 times in thanner malai...

in terms of crowd gathering...batu caves supercedes everywhere..

but in terms of the celebration, kavadis and the spirit ...ipoh u can feel it...

well they do have marshal,and its damm cool,nothing like wat u c in singapore,its just awesome,if u wana c smthing lik ethis then go to ipoh,not kl or penang....

ehhh , the kavadi ahh , damnn nice sial . with the lights all . but like its so much heavier how they carry !!?!?!? goyang d . DAMNN STYLE LA ! must go there one daayy . but thier thaipusam ain`t like singapore's right ? they dnt have marshal's and all that right ? ooooo.
