i agree about sammy hagar vh has always been dlr every sense i started lisning to them when i was 12 i am now 42 so i no music but you all no the controversaie sammy tryed doing what he was ask of eaddie and dlr was to hard headed thats why we did,nt have them together for 20 some years but vh is dlr we no that!!! i never did care much for sammy but he did try..
vh is not dlr, its eddie... even when its not the solo, everyone chants eddie, not roth or anyone else...He was the one that brought me into loving vh. and as far as sammy, im tired of all the arguement between whos better, but i like both of them equally(maybe sammy a little bit better), but i do think that the real vh is with sammy, because they wrote ALL of their own music with him, thats not so with roth...
i am not to young to understand music i seen judas priest and van halen both and david lee does not have the debt that rob halford has i just seen the 2007 tour of v h and rob halford has a voice no one can match both are favorites of mine i am just saying dlr can,t match robs debth!!
i ha te to say this and i am sure some of you all well agree everybody no,s that van halen is one of the most famous bands but as for lead singers and over all show judas priest blows v h off the stage i love v h but there was no tour like the screming for vengance tour and no body has came close to singing like rob halford!!!!!
Dude, branch your horizons.....either that or you are way too young to understand what music is all about. If you want a true rock voice...Bruce Dickinson could out scream anybody...with Blackie Lawless of WASP a close second. Vince Neil and Axl in there prime had Halford beat. I would say DLR and Halford are a push
there is one thing for sure and a fact david lee can not touch the voice of rob halford i don,t think there is any singer out there that can!!!!i love van halen and judas priest but i hate to say this judas priest back in the old days they would blow v,h off the stage!!!!i think screaming for vengance tour was the best concert in my life then van halen is #2 !!!
I wondered what it was like to sit in those seats..was there and had a great time, but I became a big believer that something was missing without Michael Anthony, can't we all just get along!!!
This was my 8th time seeing VH...saw them in '88, '91, '93, '95 and '04 (twice) w/ Hagar, and in '98 with Cherone. This was the first time I've seen them with DLR, and the first without Mike. There was definitely a lot of energy missing w/o Mikey out there.
I personally like the Roth-era music better than Van Hagar, but Sammy's a great performer, and he and Mike bring a lot of energy to every performance. This show seemed to be lacking something.
Of course, my feelings might be different if we'd had better seats. From what I've seen, the giant video screen behind the stage is pretty impressive.
I only wish I'd seen Dave back in the day. As a buddy of mine said, Dave acts like he wants to be Elvis these days (or maybe Liberace!) Unfortunately, it's the old, fat Elvis he's channeling, not the young, sexy one!
Those seats sure suck.

THe best part of this concert was when Scottie Pippen ran up on stage and took a sh*t in Dave's top hat.

Too bad Eddie and Wolfgang's harmonies are bang on, and Roth has to play some lame vocal games to cover up his shortcomings. Wrecks the whole thing.
