  • GOD bless "punk".

  • lol all you old guys chirping all the little kids bands like my chemical romance and stuff. Believe it or not some of us younger guys have carried on your legacy. Only we made it Way more hardcore. Check out some of todays melodic hardcore bands like "Counterparts, Structures, Liferuiner, Sanctuaries, Anchor, Hundredth. That whole melodic hardcore culture and scene is pretty much what your stuff evolved into.

  • I hate when people compare hardcore punk to bands like Sworn Enemy, hatebreed, and integrity.

  • to the 13 to 17 year old kids watching this. this is what hardcore is supposed to sound like. not that shit you listen to

  • @gorthoth Not every 13-17 year old is a retard that listens to shit, just... a lot of them....

  • Right on...40 and still a punk on the inside - its an outlook I still connect with. Husker Du, Black Flag, Minutemen, Ramones, etc...all still in heavy rotation. Even as a bass player in a country rock band in Austin, I still approach with a punk mindset.

  • @BlankTV who's the name of the first song?

  • NYHC/LIHC FOREVER!

  • Hardcore is running through my veins. Where the fuck can I get this at?

  • Comment removed

  • @psvpierrepsv1913 lolwtf. Electronic Hardcore might be bigger in the netherlands and some other places in the world. American(which isn't just american) is bigger world-wide. Everybody their own style but I definetly think you're a twat without balls who is just craving for attention.

  • Whats the name of the song at the end?

  • @matthewtarango the prisoner by DOA

  • @matthewtarango Louie louie and that was the Starwood.

  • wtf flea, red hot chili pepper MTV fuck head, he doesn't belong in hardcore

  • @CageKiller1 he used to play in a punk rock band called fear .....

  • brought to us by SONY haha!!

  • what? no dead kennedys, minutemen, husker du, x, rites of spring, bad religion, etc. still, considering the scarcity of hardcore documentaries, it was an enjoyable view. but some GAPING holes, due to licensing issues, i guess?

  • they call it "comprehensive" and manage to make virtually no mention of dead kennedys, husker du, minutemen, x, bad religion, etc. what the fuck? guess it had to be licensing issues? still, i enjoyed it.

  • (Called the Essential Letdowns)

  • Hardcore punk really affected my life, and made me feel like I wasn't alone, like other people too dealt with shit, and it made me want to write my angst into songs. Punk songs of course. So I started this band, that I wanted to sort of capture the spirit of American hardcore punk. I know it isn't good, or perfect, but I don't think that's what punk rock was about. Being perfect. If you want, you can check out a song or something through my channel.

  • what band logo is that at 2:27 the F with the X under it?

  • @SourShit303 Negative FX

  • I feel so proud to be a part of this music. I look at other genres and be like pussy shit haha.

  • I was born 30 years too late. Modern hc sucks

  • Comment removed

  • KEITH MORRIS!

  • @AO6025 emo came from hardcore btw. Rites of Spring, who was heavily influenced by Minor Threat, played "emotional hardcore" or "emocore" which later was reduced down to emo. ian mackaye became a fan of them and produced their first album

  • @yuckfou312 That user don't know shit about music. What you wrote was completely right on point. That fucking mainstream media is busy fucking up or scenes and even the goth scene didn't look so gay back in the 70's and 80's but when Manson came around thats when things fucked up the Goth scenes reputation.

  • this is fucking fake bullshit!! HARDCORE IS FROM HOLLAND!!!! so change the fucking name of this fucking music or go to fucking hell!

    HARDCORE HOLLAND!

  • @siebren45 Calm down man. It's showing how hardcore got it's start in America...

  • @siebren45 shut the fuck up.hardcore is not from holland you uneducated moron. This is hardcore, which came from punk. Holland has some good hardcore but hardcore didn't come from it. fuck off.

  • hardcore is NOT dead

  • Just keep hardcore in holland

  • a few months ago i posted a comment asking what was the first song called, i already knew the second song was and its d.o.a.- the prisoner. I got no comments back about my question so d.i.y. helped me found it after searching for it and the first song is called bad attitude by articles of faith.

1st song aritcles of faith- bad attitude

    2nd song D.O.A.- the prisoner

  • dude i really wanna knw what are the 2 songs in this vid they sound fuking badass

  • gg alen was the craziest!

  • i guess im just new to this... but 80s hardcore sounds more punk to me.... but maybe thats cuz all i have herd of harcore is now aday stuff

  • American is a continent, not a country

  • how ironic, a commercial at the start of a hardcore punk trailer

  • What song is this?

  • Comment removed

  • maaan, I wish today's scene were like this,I personally think that todays scene is based on how tough you are,and shit that has nothing to do with real hardcore, there are some bands on today's scene that arere bringiing back this attitude, but they need more support, everyone wants to listen crappy beatdown HC and get into the pit just to beat people

  • listen to dutch hardcore..

  • @HighNooT that's not hardcore at all that's gabberhouse

  • @albalest55 we call it hardcore

  • This is real punk rock

  • whats the last song?

  • @xTrappedUnderIcex the prisoner- D.O.A., do you know who made the the first song?

  • where's the fuck is BAD BRAINS?

  • @mihanich there's a clip of them in the trailer and they're covered extensively in the actual film.

  • What´s the name of the first song?? :)

  • if it is American Hard Core why do they have a DOA song on the trailer? I guess they did not call it USA Hardcore so I forgive them. Plus it was a pretty darn good documentry.

  • Man, i wish i wasnt an 89 child, so i could of been a part of, what i consider, the best point in hardcore music history...

But i have to make due with what i have. I need to make my own hardcore, no matter what kind it is.

    I love Hardcore!

  • Whats the song, goin off on 0:28 ?

  • @hatecrewmember000000 aricles of faith-bad attitude

  • Punk can't die, it will always be around. In this day in age, the talented are underground while the Untalented roam the earth. And it's actually always been like that. Just search for that shit. Everything worth anything is hard to find.

  • fuck emo, fuck metal, fuck screamo, fuck death core

  • @AL6025 hey wtf is wrong with metal??? i listen to metal punk and hardcore but my favorite is metla i dont see anything wrong with metal

  • @AL6025 personally I think all those styles kick ass as well as hardcore and punk (well deathcore is actually fairly mediocre but theres some good songs)

  • @alexmonro83 fuck u

  • @AL6025 Nice to see your an open minded and respectful individual

  • @AL6025 Screamo is apart of hardcore though..

  • @AL6025 Fuck u LOL

  • @AL6025 i hope you mean new metal. cus old metal is one of the leading influences on Hardcore

  • @AL6025 Hey dumb shit if it wasn't for metal influences or metal influence in GENERAL u wouldn't have Hardcore Punk soi watch what u put the fuck you section.

  • @666deathghost

who metal band influencied hardcore....its supposed that ian mackaye was sick of shitty metal music...

  • Look up Black Flag and look at their influence and you'll see.

  • @666deathghost

    black flag....metal?....u dumb fuck

  • @AL6025 I didn't say Black Flag was Metal you dumb shit. They had metal influence how you thing Hardcore punk came to be? Learn your history ignorant bitch.

  • @AL6025 BTW not to dis Hardcore Punk because I love Hardcore punk but your scene is somewhat responsible those shitty Genres such as emo, screamo, metalcore deathcore or any of hose gay overused breakdown genres. Now ppl are thinking emo, screamo, metalcore and deathcore are part of the metal scene, that just make metal look bad and as if we didn't have issues with that shitty Nu Metal scene

  • @AL6025 Fuck metal? You do realize Metal and Hardcore punk and sister genres, right? Have you ever heard any real grindcore? it is a direct descendant of Hardcore punk and metal.

Seriously though go listen to these bands you can hear the direct influence for your self:

    Assuck

    Napalm Death

    Repulsion

    Gridlink

    Pig Destroyer

ect. Go check em out dude.

  • @BrutalizeURf4ce PIG DESTROYER ??? someone listens to that shit ??

    METAL IS : SEPULTURA

    PANTERA

    TESTAMENT

    SODOM DOWN etc.

    walk on home boy..

  • @gandja8889

    Pantera, hahaha

I was talking about grindcore, not metal. Grindcore is mostly a punk sub-genre.

    Pantera....hahaa......

  • @BrutalizeURf4ce fuckin poser , suck thrash metal ballzzz !

  • @AL6025 FUCK YOU !

  • @AL6025 why metal dude?

  • @AL6025 fuck em all!!

  • @AL6025 fuck you

  • @AL6025 I know that was an old comment lol, but why metal? Metal and punk has a lot more in common than you think. They have the same energy, and most times have the same beliefs/values. But I agree with the rest, Fuck emo, screamo, and deathcore.

  • Comment removed

  • @TheUndeadAnarchist

coz metal is dumb....just listen the lyrics they talk about stupid things that dosent exist...

  • @AL6025 A lot of the times the lyrics are metaphorical for real life problems. You don't take the lyrics literally. There are metal bands that have the same kind of lyrics as punk bands. You can't just judge a genre on a few songs.

  • @TheUndeadAnarchist

yeah...i know but 80% of metal bands suck...

  • @AL6025

lol moore like 5% suck and thats like tho's new-metal shit....

but oldschool thrash and deathmetal(not deathcore!) is just awesome

    and FUCK EMO'S!!!

  • @AL6025 ♥

  • @AL6025 fuck you

  • what i find bullshit about our so called scene is the division and people wanting everyone to look and act the same, its about breaking molds not forming them. Jello Biafra hit the nail on the head when he penned chickenshit conformist and that was almost 30 years ago, if you wanna be aclone then stay out of the punk and hardcore scene and go and listen to the top 40, but for every one of you closed minded dicks out there i know there are a hundred cool cats who know what its about

  • australia does it better :P just saying

  • I love those photographs by Edward Colver. He's just as cool as the bands to me, and just as important. check out his site at: edwardcolver(dot)com

  • My name is Mike from LA Although there busizz4me.info

  • This is about Fucking Steven Blush's A.H. book two! In the NY section he makes

the band KRAUT out to be number one. ( He must have lost his NYU writing courses

notes) Or the fact, He's just a bad writer. Sure, KRAUT were making headlines..because they worked hard to get it,Every one knew The Bad Brains were NYC...... But 9 years latter, What does he do?

Switches shit around. "Gives the Punk intelligentsia their 15 mins of fame" (Big Deal)Then really fucks up and says: "Chris Smith OD. "lawsuit"

  • Yeah!!! Pure, loud, angry... That's the real sound of youth!

Man I just saw this movie weeks ago and I really liked it...

I just knew Black Flag, Circle Jerks and the Bad Brains... Now I know a lot of real good stuff thanks to this movie!!

  • this is original hardcore

kids nowadays dont understand this you would have had to be around in the ninety's after original punk music faded out.

kids now are just trend seekers

  • Hardcore is dead, but I still love finding those rare gems making a good attempt to bring it back at local shows.

  • @DontDrinkTH3KoolAid You're twenty-two and hardcore is dead? Wow. I'm forty and I still see amazing bands and new styles. Perhaps you should pull your head out of your ass... Smitty

    BlankTV

  • @BlankTV I'm not saying that there aren't good bands out there I actually like a few that are pretty young like War Pigs. However you just don't hear the same style as it was in the 80's. As for my age I understand it's too young to have been able to see any of those shows but my dad was into and still is into that music scene and he pretty much raised me on it.

  • BlankTV ->damn right maestro!

  • @BlankTV -yeah,im like fuckin 49,and i STILL go to shows...o.k.,i dont hold up in the mosh pit for long, but my hearts still in it. I,ve been "punk" since the 79 era,as a young teen, but im still the same inside as i was then...if it was ever there,it aint goin nowhere.Just like h.Rollins,i have mellowed out,but i,ll ALWAYS be this way !

  • @tuuexx That is a long time to succeed in not growing up. Congratulations. At 49, your heart is still in a mosh pit.

  • @tuuexx yeah,i'm 36 and fell the same,punk for life bro

  • @BlankTV Hardcore will never die!! Yeahhh....

  • @BlankTV hes that lame hairlip lispy amazing asstheist, guy with misplaced anger,

who likes to hear himself talk ,hes so hardcore i bet he filled out his nwo census like a good little npr listener,

  • @DontDrinkTH3KoolAid where I live the hardcore scene is alive and kicking. Not as cool as it was in the 80's but these kids definitely know how to throw down and keep it alive

  • @DontDrinkTH3KoolAid Hardcore isnt dead

  • @DontDrinkTH3KoolAid Ur dumb!

  • hahah wanna hear somthing funny? i was in school, and my friend was showing me some hardcore scremo bands (whitechapel, devil wears prada, etc) and i said harcore punk is harder and then thought i was joking. LOL they actually think that thier scremo music is HARDER? if it wasnt for hardcore punk, none of these "hardcore" bands would exist. *sigh*

  • @hotactionpunk123 dude those bands are metal

  • Should be called American Hardcore part 1, a look at the more popular bands. Why no Koro, Deep Wound, Siege, or any of the other faster bands?

  • @MrPsychonaut23 it's a movie and they had to cut it down to mostly the essentials. read the book, they cover a lot more bands.

  • @80smoviesguy yes the book was much better, I still feel a lot of bands were left out and the Midwest ignored.

  • i know all that bands from my dad :D

  • Ok tried to post before but youtube/blanktv blocked it. ["Error, try again"]

I have to watch a fucking xbox360 ad before I can watch a simple trailer for American Hardcore (which I've seen several times before)??

Seems to me to go against the whole spirit of early hardcore - it wasn't about the money!

  • Skate, Sluts, Beer, and Music. Yupp Soundss good.

  • fuck this movie, hardcore still lives..hardcore IS NOT dead

  • fuck this movie! hardcore isn't dead...hardcore still lives

  • The songs are the prisoner D.O.A., then Bad Attitude by articles of faith.

  • lol this aint hardcore :S HARDCORE COMES FROM HOLLAND this is more like hardrock :S

  • @alphenchick what? haha

  • @Chem1Crew this is rock not hardcore

  • @alphenchick hahah your funny

  • @Chem1Crew lol ur funny do u really think this is hardcore? typ hardcore in . in youtube. hardcore comes from holland and that arent some rednecks with a beard and wierd facialhair

  • @alphenchick haha were are you from??

  • @Chem1Crew dude this guy is talking about some "hardcore techno" shit.. by the way hardcore punk started a long time before hc techno and has nothing to do with it... AND YES THIS IS HXC, TRUE HARDCORE!!! we have to stand fucking emo bands like TDWP and attack attack being called "hardcore", and now this!?

  • @alphenchick your right this ain't hardcore this is rock n roll type stuff. just to make sure we're on about the same thing are you talking about darren styles, hixxy, dougal & gammer and dj sy well that kind of thing?

  • @ads0117 i,m talking about "Angerfist, Masters of Hardcore, Neophyte" search those names into youtube or google :) and hear there music :) that is real hardcore.

  • @alphenchick real hardcore is what you're seeing in this trailer. it started in the late 70's, when did your techno scene start?

  • whywas there no dead kennedys in this movie?

  • What's the song at 1:04?

  • @TheSAMmissile

    DOA 'the prisoner' i think

  • whats the name of the 1st song played at 0:30?

  • i hate how hardcore has branched into shit like christian hardcore. it should just be the hardcore anyone from my time grew up with.

  • flannels for days

  • Aww mani wish i was like 30 years older

  • Thrashy hardcore bands are the best!

    SLUGGO!

  • awesome
