He shouldn't be having any problems if he's using proper technique. Guys like Tommy Rogers from BTBAM and Howard Jones from KSE can do both without problem. I think he damaged his vocal chords using his old screaming technique which was incorrect and the excessive amount of alcohol he drinks. He should probably see a doctor about it. That would be interesting to see a solo album from him though.

Stand up and Scream he used more of his throat or vocal cords; which is the incorrect way to scream and you can damage your vocals. He is using his diaphragm and overall lungs more to scream; the correct way to scream.

You can go back to one of their oldest decent quality live videos and say, "Wow, this band is INCREDIBLE, Danny's vocals is a amazing". Than you go to about a year later to a great example; the "Thrash And Burn Tour" You noticed Danny's vocals were getting worse, and worse, because of mass amounts of drinking before and after shows. Now they are sobering up, Danny is clearly back in the game!
