  • Exactly what I needed: New Form of Injuring Myself(TM). My doctor will be very happy that after the various degrees and types of lower limb injury he gets the opportunity of studying upper limbs and head too!!! But hell, it's so fun! And it's always better than watching TV and stuffing your face with crap for hours with no end. (BTW; I was joking, I have never had a severe injury besides a short ITBS case)

  • Great Stuff!! Amazingly fun to do.

  • This was so excellent - 2nd video to give me great progression ideas - thank you!

  • @geoffcraft how long did u trained to be able to do one of this perfect handstandes??

    Just awesome!

  • Are you listening to Korean music?! This is awesome. So are the HSPUs! I need to work on these for CrossFit. Got my first ring inversion this week and now I'm hooked to the rings and want to learn more.

  • @incognito217 I was actually trying to learn to in order to decide wether crossfit was for me or not (I'm marathon runner, but my coordination sux big time, lol)

  • @runlevel0 No one is good at every aspect of CrossFit, so you would do well in the long, drawn-out body weight workouts. I'm more of a sprinter. I like lifting heavy for short periods of time. Check out a CrossFit in your area - what do you have to lose except an hour?

  • Amazing job! Congratulations!

1 Question: What is better to work shoulders: Handstand Pushups with STOMACH facing the wall or BACK facing the wall?

  • cool!

  • respect!

  • i tried this and fell over lol didnt get hurt though luckily.

  • weak

  • damn i wish i did gymnastics when i was a kid

  • amazing this helps me allot :)

  • @geoffcraft What do you mean when you say to focus on opening your shoulder angle? Also, I have the strength for this stuff, just terrible balance :/ ... any suggestions?

  • @Skrappy777 just keep trying that's what im doing and im seeing results already, if you're going to far push with your fingers, if too backwards with your palms, and try to keep as straight as possible...:)

  • @pivotiano practice makes perfect I suppose :P Yeah, I found a bunch of tutorial videos on handstand balance so hopefully I will be doing free standing handstand push-ups in no time! :D

  • @Skrappy777 yeah mate that's my aiming too, sometimes i can hold a decent handstand for like 10 seconds ..? but it's rare yet :D :D

  • That was off the chain!

  • what dou you mean with "open shoulder angle" ? sry, my english is not so good

  • Pause at 4:05 FACE PLANT!

  • the last part is damn good .

  • I really want to learn this..I'm just afraid if I break and arm. Im even scared to do the Safety Roll. Scared if I might break an arm:/ I'm going to do it tho. I REALLY DO WANT TO LEARN THIS!!. lol

  • That is ridiculous! Sad day for girl cheerleaders and gymnasts

  • I didn't know arms bent that way. 3:57

  • I hear Korean music :D

  • Learn stand long time in a handstand, than it's just a question of force to do it (:

    look at my video (:...youtube.com/watch?v=crtztv527yI

  • People who say you can't get a good body weight workout need to check again.

  • @IHighLikePlane Convict conditioning :)

  • DAMN....

  • how did and do you do the last puh ups?!

  • LIKE A BOSS!

  • holy shit im a big puss

  • gymnists are so goddamn strong.

  • i got tired at 0:10

  • you should do a handstand, roll, then plank ^_^

  • How long will it take to see results

  • man,you're preety strong :)

  • ..and I thought I was good at hand stands.

  • wow! :- O

  • I really wished i watched this before i had done mine for months, after not doing them for a month and trying to show off, i almost broke my neck, leaving my shoulder in unbelievable pain and never being able to do them again, what sucks the most is how there's nothing doctors can do, but this is a very good video.

  • @Angrykrazyjoe

    damn

  • wow!

  • whats the name of that song

  • what do you mean by "shoulder angle as open as possible"?

    Thank You

  • korean at 3:25 ish?

  • I'm really impressed with this tutorial/how to and the progression. This is by far the best one I have found to date.

  • Beyond beastly!!!

  • amazing, i need to practise this, my friend can do and he was teaching me from a headstand how to use least movement to stand but it's tricky. i will try these against a wall now.

  • are those the only exercises you do to become that strong inorder to be able to do that

  • damn those planche pushups must be killer on the triceps

  • What does "open shoulder angle" mean?

  • 3 months ? These words put me down, but I know that I'm better than that, put my best b-boy song, get focus and I can do it in 5 hours of training by believing in myself. A girl, my friend, took one night and I know that she can do it, a also can, and i could do it, i'm very happy by now, very thanks, and folks, anyone can do it. I fall, one time I think that i broken my back on the ground, but i don't give up

  • lol proof of how difficult this is- this guy's strength looks almost maxed out doing it lol. Great job tho

  • what does a "open" shoulder angle mean?

  • you kind of looked like a male ballerina

  • Hes Hella Stong !

  • This tutorial is misleading and not proper watch strengthproject for proper form and technique.

  • oh shit. BEST GUIDE EVER!!!!!!!

  • u can do handstands but at the beginig could u do handstands couse u didnt

  • That was a great video . Thanks for the tips

  • Why am I sitting here watching you spend 3 minutes just ... warming up? wtf are you doing? This video should be 20 seconds long. Just do the damn handstand pushups for crying out loud! I don't need to spend two minutes watching you going to do it, but then deciding not to and trying again.

  • @M1thotyn It's a tutorial to help people train up to being able to do this themselves, not just some knob showing the world that he can do it. The clue was in the name of the clip - HOW TO DO handstands and handstand pushups

  • @M1thotyn shut the fuck up u twerp, you really think u can just go into doing handstand push ups? your shoulders wont be strong enough

  • @timmytimmyo Wrong, *I* can just go into handstand pushups. IMO it's the second easiest exercise to do with your own bodyweight, only pushups are easier. Want to try something hard? I bet you cant do a single over hand pullup.

  • 11 people couldnt increase their load :D

  • hey guys check out my handstand pushup video on my channel, its my first video and its not that good but i give out some tips and advice which people ask a lot of questions to :)

  • Do you usually just train your shoulders at the gym?

  • ppl actualli disliked this vid!!

  • Thanks for this video man! Can really use this

  • bullshit! i dont believe this T_T

  • Is it OK to lock you elbows while doing these??

  • Awesone tutorial!

One question. Does Body Weight matter?

  • i increased my load..:D

  • The problem with the balance :S

  • What's the music plz ?

  • how long will it take to master this???

  • @MrMOONGAZER A year maybe 6 months if you train hard.

  • @abaa111 wow that is a very long time

  • That was inspirational

  • how long did it take to learn how to do a handstand?

  • Great vid thx a lot

  • just a question doesn't doing these damage your wrist?

  • @Jeidor not if you do it right and NEVER EVER do more then you can most of the time bad stuff happen when you push to hard or to far or have bad form

  • gymnasts are insane.

  • requires that you can press BW though right?

  • @pumitaproductions ooh, this guys got a point, makes sense to me!

  • Do you have any idea how much core strength it takes to do those final 2? To stay balanced? Simply incredible.

  • Wow, you're really good!

Can I have this music please?

  • Nicely done I'm practice'n it now lolz

  • White text + White Background = Eyes Bleeding T_T

  • good to know there the emergency roll hahaha last time i did a hand stand i fell flat

  • Anyone watching this should check out my weighted tiger bend video, it is a higher level hand balancing move. I am grateful to be the first person to get such a seemingly impossible move.

  • Holy fuck! The last one looks like a Ninja training

  • The last ones were badass.

  • What's the name of the song/instrumental playing in the background? Btw great video!

  • haha i see the 90 degree pushups and say out loud "no fucking way." then i read the top comment which says "90 degree pushups. no f'in way." damn i want to learn to do one so bad.

  • omfg XD planche to handstand

  • I am a 280 pd dude...and thats in shape. I can do sets of 10 handstand pushups, but I have to keep a nice wide grip to make head to floor and back, but I cannot beat that last 2 inches to the ground when I am shoulder width grip. Any tips? I seem to have been stuck with that for a while now.

  • Holy shit.

  • I don't believe the last one!

  • You are my new protege. God knows hpw long it will take me to get bomb like u. Im bookmarkin this.

  • you mention opening your shoulder angle - which way is open?

  • i can lower myself down but can't push back up what can i do.

  • I feel like a super wimp now o.o

  • holy shit balls at the 90 degree pushups

  • actually you're right livewire is focusing more on free running than hanstands im checking calisthenics kingz right now

  • hey your invited to participate in my youtube handbalancing contest. Can you do a tiger bend? check out all info on my blog found in a link on my channel. Spread the word to all handbalancers you know. Im looking for the strongest!

  • @2brothersofstrength dude it's livewire no contest :P

  • @coolerzguy Livewire is impressive but he has been focused on parkour more than handbalancing recently, keep in touch coolerzguy, you may be surprised. Right now the one doing the most tiger bends is calisthenics kingz. But im training hard. The most recorded of livewire is 4, still very impressive, will be a good contest!

  • pshh cant do this i would hit my fan dam i hate being 6 foot 3

  • So if I have trouble doing handstands alone, do the pike stands/increasing feet elevation help with that? I can do stomach-toward-wall handstand pushups, but I have trouble with my balance.

Should I work on just holding myself in handstand position for increasing amounts of time to work on balance?

Thanks for the video!!! It's great, really concise yet informational!

  • Thank you so much for posting your instructional videos here on Youtube for free of charge. Got me started working towards a planche and well on my way!

  • i don't understand what you mean by shoulder angle

  • Awesome tutorial!! Its really cool trick!!

  • oh my god 3:50 o.OOO ??!!!

  • damn thast crazy i think i'm strong enough to do those push ups since i work out but i just cant find my balance i've tried many times to do the handstand & i've never managed too i gonna ry this technique thankss

  • crazy core strength!!!! awesome

  • thanks, it really helped!!!!

  • thank you sooo much!!:DD

  • its not all about balance because for good balance you need good core strength, so work on those compound lifts people!!!

  • DAMN!!!!!!!!

    DATS SOOO GOOD

  • now those are real handstand pushups

  • geoffcraft ive taken on this difficult but doable task and am referring to your video for tutorial. If I plan on practicing a littl bit each day for one week for each of your steps(week 1 static pike holds and kicks) how long do you recommend I practice each day? 10-15 min good? Im an amateur athlete so im in pretty good shape. more than 15 min? thanks

  • Great, awesome, incredible video.

    You're awesome with those.

One question though, what does he mean by "completely open shoulder angle"?

  • You are amazing

  • get on with the hand stand u idiot

  • 2:23 hey I've done those haha

  • Phenomenal !!...start tomorrow.

  • where lies the strenght for a handstand? is it in the forearms?

  • @ThrashingBuddha id say core shoulders and arms

  • nicholas cage can fucking do that on con air, ur also amazing man

  • Amazing.. something i don't get. It looks like you're actually struggling a tiny bit with doing two hspu, but you can do a 90 degree up 0_0 doesnt make sense lol

  • Phenomenally strong!! I can do handstand push-ups with my arms right by my ears, though I'd like to lower myself closer to the floor as you do. ^_^

  • OMFG!! This is so scary :[ And that right at the end was sorcery. Holy crap. I can't even do the roll away hand-stand fail. Damn you gravity!

  • REALLY BEAST

  • Thanks. Good video!

  • somebody make a chuck norris joke about this one

  • @LoveLikeLuxury this guy is so gay he sucked off chuck norris

  • WOW tell me how strong do you have to be to be able to do what you did at the end !?!

  • That is fuckin machine

  • That was the best video on youtube for learning handstand pushups. Thanks !!

  • 4:00 wtf!?!?!? your crazy

  • thats what i done wrong....i didnt learn a roll and now i have a broken collar bone

  • I must learn how to do this.

  • t{-.-t)

  • damm dude ur fuckin amazing, what is up beast !

  • Awesome!

  • thought you was a beast anyone can do that dont get ahead og your self

  • Great work.

  • ДА НУ НАЙУХ

  • Jesus. That core, hamstring, glutes and overall body pushups is amazing. I can't even hold my body horizontal for horizontal "chest dips!"

I'll have to work at it!

  • This is good i could of always do hand very long without ever being taught by any1 but i could never get more then 3 handstand pushups now that i see how i does it i'm wayy more happier :-) now i'm getting it better 2

  • Probably the best tutorial on Handstands I've seen!

    Nice vid.

  • WICKED MAN!

    Way to be!

  • Great job. Looks like a lot of fun to learn.

  • I haven't done a handstand for at least 5 years.

I'm probably too heavy/not strong enough now.

    I can try though!

  • wow!! impressive~!!

  • This was really informative. I am trying to learn to do proper handstands at the moment and this gave me some great ideas. Thanks :)

  • wow...

  • nice geoffs ;)

  • You got to have a gymnast body to do this!

  • you are fkn crazy. respect

  • Fuckin' amazing

  • 90 degree pushups.. O_O no f'in way O_O I wouldnt have believed it if you didnt posted this footage

  • @Doodleedeedoodleedoo if u whant to learn this just start making lots of hands stands (builds strenght by just holding on hands for a while) then try to lift your self from a head stand to hend stand whit help of your legs when ur pro at that you will esy do hand stand push ups;D

  • @Doodleedeedoodleedoo Dude a friend of mine can get up using a crouch technique and can do like one looks like a f*ckin cobra but he doesn't need anything to help him when i can do it ill post it

  • Ive just tried that....and my shoulders r very sore. BTW whats the name of that amazing song?

  • Thanks for the encouragement, Bencher617. You need to work on your message of positive reinforcement. I *think* that was supposed to be a word of encouragement, anyway. That's how I'm going to take it.

BTW, Got in a four-second self-supporting handstand yesterday morning before I had to let it go. However - this ignorant (not dumb) 45 year-old is still making progress and isnt giving up!

  • Dear god.

Those plank pushups. FAHCK! I didn't even know such a thing existed. Beast is right.

  • great dude, thx

  • Good tutorial, thanks. But I tried this earlier, and I could barely eke out a headstand. I think I naturally have weak shoulders, so if I even try to go to a handstand, much less a press, I'll fall flat and bust my tail. Should I try perfecting something like pike presses for 100 reps first before trying the full handstand press?

  • What song is this. And nice tutorial :D

  • you are the best teacher , thank u so much

  • Yup you are a beast

  • wow those planche or 90degree at the end were nutty

  • nice tutorial

  • another good one if your struggling between the back against the wall handstand and actually going for it, is go front facing the wall and walk out so that your 90 degrees from ther wall, not facing it not backed away from it and then using one toe to balance yourself if you feel unsturdy
