There is another way to save both Lebedev and not to kill Anna. You just have to use metal crates from the airplane to block Anna's way in the corridor near Juan's room. She is scripted to arrive in Juan's room and then turn hostile. She cannot get past the crates though, so Lebedev stays alive. One way or another the game is scripted for one of them to die so if u use the crates trick, Lebedev will be considered dead anyway.

anna is snake anyway, u have the chance to kill her at the subway station on after the MJ12 jail break at UNATCO , i kill her because the conversation back at UNATCO from alex Jacobson is hilarious

I defeated every boss with a suprise gep gun rocket or a lam. Threw a lam into manderley's office, didn't bother talking to him, killed navarre in unatco headquarters by firing gep gun against a wall near her a few times, saw gunther with vision augmentation in the cathedral and bounced a lam off a pillar to kill him, saw walton simons running towards me in the underwater labs cave, so I just ran backwards and shot him with the gep gun. hm..

lebedev gets killed anyway, the troops kill him. Unatco trooper at the base can tell you that

@prettycolors2 That's interesting to me, they wouldn't blow up automatically because she is allied here, so they'd only blow up for me after I started fighting her...

@7ack14 Umm, they would blow up automatically if she was allied or not. The player is the only person who wouldn't set off their own proximity explosives. And by the way, Gunther and Anna are immune to Gas grenades and pepper spray, so it's a waste to try to use gas against them.

Ahh, don't you just love it when ghost Anna is running around and you can't even see her?? God, that happened to me like twice, maybe three times before I saved Lebedev. A pretty cool cheat, though. One time when I was taken to the cell in the MJ12 lab, my weapons WEREN'T automatically taken away. Some strange things happen when you play this game over and over with cheats and whatnot.

I'm gonna try and play the entire game without killing anyone, but I have doubts about this part. Is there any way to prevent Ana from killing Lebedev without killing her ? like get her stuck somewhere ?

I'm afraid I don't know of any real way of getting around this without mods.... you could try tranqs or the riot-prod on him, but as far as i know, it's him or her :/

I'll send you a coment if i find any ways around killing at this point..

@7ack14 I manage to save both of them, before talking to Lebedev I blocked the path to his room with metal crates (found outside the plane) so that Navarre couldn't get through it. It worked !

Thanks for letting me know about this, I'm trying to make a 'benevolent' version of the game for a video , but i'm still doing an awefull lot of editing around certain confrontations. It's usefull for me to do this part without bloodshed :D

I'm interested to see how you get around Anna Navarre because she's kind of a boss character you have face eventually. Or did you just "it's not guns that kill people, it's killphrases that kill people!"?

Thats going to be tough, along with gunthar. I suppose the best way is the killphrase, but we saw with paul that it involves suffering, so maybe theres an easier way to get round her. I'll leave some posts in Deus Ex forums to see if there are any pros who know :P

@7ack14 Mech killswitches are instantaneous. Nano-augs take 24 hours.

you can easily avoid gunther and anna the whole game through afaik. I don't think you ever need to actually fight them to progress the story, do you? Just put on speed legs and run.

@thexflo Yeah but the crappy part is, sooner or later, you're gonna HAFTA' kill Anna...unless you sneak by her without saying the codephrase "flatlander woman" when breaking out of UNATCO HQ...or do you still run into her even after that? Oh I don't know, i've played so many times and there's so many times they allow you to kill her. Like in the subway station or using the codephrase at UNATCO. God, I needed the god cheat for that one!

@FOBloveaddict14 yeah you meet her when escaping from Unatco, and you have to kill her... but I searched for a way to avoid it and found a video that shows how to do it. I managed to make her open the locked door of Unatco and escaped without killing her.

You can block the entrance to the private quarters where Juan is by pushing couches and chairs into the doorway from other rooms.

But after the 1st conversation with Juan he won't talk to you after you talk with Anna. Unless she's been able to push herself through the objects, go talk to her. Then you can talk with Juan with no interruptions. But be quick about it, Anna can break through objects...

@WindRabbit I just keep dying and reloading the game until i get it right w/ the assault rifle myself, making sure to break for a medkit intake here an' there while i'm trying to kill her. have u noticed that she sometimes turns invisible/transparent before she dies?? scaryy glitch.

The easiest way is just to place a LAM or two on the wall, then during the cutscene she'll blow up.

You place a LAM right next to Anna - it blows up, but does not kill her - simple as that.

There are three ways this cutscene can go.

#1. You kill Navarre

#2. You just leave. Navarre will kill Lebedev and when you go back to Unatco Manderly will be all angry

#3. You kill Lebedev. Navarre will praise you and Manderly will give you some bonus credits

If you don't kill Navarre you will eventually. There are ways to kill her without fighting her though so keep your eyes open

Best way is to cap Lebedev right away and get the bonus (even though it's wrong, but he'll die no matter what you do)

Then when you escape later, you can hack the computer in her office and the one in Manderley's office to get her killphrase.

The hud is customizable in the settings/options menu. Cheats do not change the color of the hud at all
