8 years to the day, with Barrack Obama as President, Osama Bin Laden is dead. - Chances are it would have been sooner if Bush/Cheney/Rumsfeld hadn't diverted US forces to Iraq. - Meanwhile, the Taliban was also allowed to escape and form alliances with the Pakistani government, military and intelligence forces. Thus has Pakistan ('s nuclear capability) become the US's (and probably India's) greatest threat. - However, the important thing was "Mission Accomplished" was a great sound bite.
IRAQ HAVE NO TERRORIST!! PLZ UNDERSTAND IT. IRAK HAVE A PEOPLE SOME NEED TO PROTECT THEYR OUR COUNTRY! Bush are a murder and he will kill people, and need oil, and need kill saddam. Ok saddam are allready dead but why are bush not sent home the soliders? cuz he will end the people in irak and hes own soldiers. And iraq will protect theyr self.. - 9/11 was a Pentagon scenario played out. see "Operation Northwoods"
But Get Beyond All That because Demanding the answers is like Trying to Stop
a Tiger by Grabbing It's Tail .. Block it's Path instead. WE better start WORRYING ABOUT THE NEXT FALSE FLAG ATTACK ON Us
All indications promise that the Pentagon WILL VERY SOON DO IT AGAIN as a pretext to MORE WAR. In order to Blame the same innocent civilizations or pick a NEW govt to VILLIFY
All you people are good for is talk talk talk. Someone grow some balls and make some nitroglycerin. Blow up the federal reserve. Hunt down the rothchilds and the rockefellers and the rest of those super elite bank owners. Over throw the government. COME ON PEOPLE!!!!
The only thing he meant by the comment was the end of "major operational combat".NOT the end of the war.For those who launched the major combat part of the war,the mission WAS accomplished.Bad choice of words but certainly accurate for the group he was addressing.Just because Europe has lost all sense of identity and respect does not mean we have to.If you believe Muslims are live and let live if we leave them alone..then your a fool. We have been at war whether you believe in it or not.
I partly agree with you except one part. Not ALL Muslims are evil. I don't know if that is what you were saying, if not, then I'm sorry, disregard this, but there are only a minority of Muslims that are actually terrorists.
I hope im not the first one to say this but i feel really sorry for the men, women and children of Iraq that have to go through hell because a group of rich, money hungry white men. Not only did we have a retard as a commander and chief but because of him we have lost almost all creditability as a country and became the laughing stock of the world. I was stunned when he won a second time and the some of the people that still support him.
take a look on you tube of a video called "triumph of wills" and look at the similiarites this video has to it...leader coming in on his plane, pumping everyone up about the enemies, telling everyone how they are going to win, the eagle in the background, helmet in left hand....scary stuff. everyone pick up the book "the end of america" by naomi wolf, and start fighting for your constitutional rights, before they are gone for good.
I see many of you here are against the war in Iraq, but you support the troops. Considering you support the troops as you say, I assume you're sending your donations to the USO, right? Can anyone here think of a better war of supporting the troops than sending care packages, pre-paid calling cards, etc? When you see someone in uniform in a restaurant, do you offer to pay their tab?
good point. as supportive as people say they are i doubt many of them would do that. and i admit i could be doing a better job to support them rather than just saying bring them back home.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
He says "MAJOR COMBAT operations in Iraq have ended" Im not a bush supporter but he never said that the WAR has ended. Stop misinterpreting the words. I no bush is a horrible president but he is not the worst like you guys think.
I can see now that people are really starting to wake up to the truth. More and more people are starting to do their homework instead of remaining within the security of denial. There is a lot of proof to demonstrate the curruption of leadership in this country. Alex Jones and Jim Marrs are right! There is a bigger agenda here and it involves mass deception, denial, and... the destruction of the American economy - I don't understand the last one!
Jimbacsi: I no longer wish to communicate to you as your simple minded blathering does not amuse me in the least. I appreciate your freedoms of expression, and opinion, speech and everything that goes with it. But, you really don't have a leg to stand on, nor the wit to compete. Sorry, you just aren't worth my time, nor do you matter to me.
Jimbacsi: If Bush announced to anyone who worships him should jump off of a bridge, would you? Like he said, 'you are either with him or against him'. We American's no longer have the freedom to disagree with him or any of his points of view anymore. This is the great leader you worship? What used to be great about America is if we didn't agree with our leaders, we had free speech in defense. You seem to enjoy dictatorship or maybe fascism. Match wits with me? Bring friends, you'll need them.
Jimbacsi: So what did he mean by "..Major combat ops. in Iraq have ended, in the battle of Iraq, the United States and our allies have prevailed"? I suppose the banner that was in the background was a coincidence? Do you take me or anyone else for a fool? What did he mean with this speech? um... 'we're in deep shit over there, and I am too fucking dumb to know the for sure'? Or..'I can say anything because people are mostly too stupid or afraid to question me'? That's why I am smarter than you.
Jimbacsi, what did Iraq have to do with 9/11? Nothing. Saddam hated terrorists, he killed them on the spot, they came in after our illegal invasion. WMD, non-existent. Yellow-cake, Al. tubes...etc. Get the picture yet? I doubt it. Your intelligence could be summed up by the fact that only a fool follows a fool. You seem to support Bush, no matter what, which is your right. I, unlike you, do my research, I research BOTH sides of everything that is debatable. You look at one side only. I win !!!!!
Jimbacsi, you are not stating a fact. The banner, WMD's, yellow-cake, and so many other things have come back to embarrass Bush. They ignore it and/or try and rewrite history to make themselves appear innocent and point the finger elsewhere. Gullible and undereducated people, such as yourself, are easily manipulated into believing whatever they tell you. More soldiers have died in this war than people in 9/11, and you call that brilliant? You are of a simple mind, a fool following a fool.
Gearhead, how do you know YOU aren't the gullible one? How do you know my level of education? Have you got some inside intel to suggest that the banner was put there by Bush's folks? The carrier crew has claimed it as theirs. As for the deaths, they're ALL regrettable, but freedom costs. To ignore that is to be gullible. I'd rather to have our enlisted men and women handling it than civilians on our soil...and unless you and I are totally hoodwinked, there has been NO terror in the US.
Has anyone stopped to consider that the Iraq effort drew out Al Qaeda idiots in droves, brought them to a defunct, useless desert country and nearly obliterated them? While my family in the US has had NO terror threat whatsoever since then? This may be the most brilliant tactical move in decades.
Jimbacsi, you are not stating a fact. The banner, WMD's, yellow-cake, and so many other things have come back to embarrass Bush. They ignore it and/or try and rewrite history to make themselves appear innocent and point the finger elsewhere. Liberals just don't understand the situation in Iraq! The Middle East is a complex place and their are more facets involved then just Iraq and Iran. Terrorism is everywhere and anti-American and anti-western sentiment is everywhere. If we pull troops we will only be giving terrorism a chance to breed and putting ourselves in a "sitting duck" position paving the way for another 9/11, but likely worse. More troops, not less. This is war people, thats the reality we must embrace. God Bless America!
This war will not end until we change our ways because were sucking up the worlds resources, and GOD,, Romans made such a word to scare people to live by the government rules, In the name of GOD, God gave torture since to beginning and still going around us, Search out and see the documents about God or Catholic Torture on U TUBE and you be the judge.
The "Mission Accomplished" banner on that aircraft carrier referred to their 10-month deployment. It had nothing to do with the overall war. The Bush Administration had absolutely nothing to do with the banner either.
The banner was paid for by the Rebpulican National Committee and was put up by Bush's advance team. To believe that Bush would stand in front of such a declaratory banner in what was a very carefully choreographed media event and "have nothing to do with the banner" is the most ludicrous thing I've ever heard in my life. So...Bush looked up at the banner and said "Gee, I had nothing to do with this banner, but...okay." Please.
Believe what you want, but Bush's team had absolutely no knowledge of the banner which referred to the carrier's 10-month mission, not the overall effort. Look, I'm not defending anything, just stating the fact.
"the bush ad.. had nothing to do with the banner either"
but he had ALL to do with the genocide we are committing in Iraq, the imbecile bush, the sheeps that put him in power and his puppets put our soldiers in a lose-lose situation
Yeah he killed thousands, but don't compare presidents - neither are good, If Saddam hates civil disobedience than he's most likely gonna execute someone on terrorism charges, there were no terrorists in iraq, not until jackasses that believe there were came, and then more terrorists flooded in after considered the borders & government lost order once saddam was gone, America came in and destroyed Mesopotamia's moral order under lying pretexts, so I guess tax dollars go toward blood money, nice.
Delusional huh? Why that statement makes me delusional is beyond me, but ok. I really don't care what you think of me. I was doing missions before any of that happened. Just like hundreds of other rangers, deltas, and sas.
Are you kidding me? You clearly don't know anything that goes on in this world. I don't care if people have no idea, but when people like you think and talk like they know everything pisses me off. There are hundreds of wars that go on around the world. Some are small, some are large. There are always some kind of war or mission that goes happens daily. Most of them being recon. I laugh at dumb ignorant people like you.
I guess you are too stupid to understand. I said there are hundreds of wars and missions that go on around the world. I didn't say anywhere that I was in all of them dumbass! You should stop now before you hurt your little brain. And you watch too much michael moore. Hussein actually funded parts of bin ladens campaigns. And there is proof of that. One of the reasons why we were looking in Iraq. I'm tired of you people who think they know everything but have never even been there.
LOL, Hussein hated his guts, WE SUPPLIED Hussein, and supply and funded bin laden.
"Michael Moore"
i never did see or hear any thing he might have said, my opinions come from free thinking, i do not listen to one side or the other, FACTS, FACTS, learn the facts before you speak, really, in one of your missions, was not better to kill him than asked him for his autograph? in reality,
even if he had been killed, 9-11 was on its way, unfortunately
I the only thing I really don't understand, is Clinton lied about a blowjob and was impeached. Bush lied about a war and cost the lives of thousands of Americans and their allies, as well as well over 100,000 Iraqis. But he hasn't been impeached.
remember this... what would happen if terrorists had weapons of massive destruction..? in iraq stealling nuclear material is like checking a random house and find an ak-47 inside it...
oh, shut up already, stop trying to scare everyone with that nonsense. The US is a bigger threat to world safety then some third world nation, get over yourself....
You believe everything your government tells you, Iraq doesn't have any weapons of mass destruction, they got rid of then soon after the first gulf war. I hate to say it but Iraq was better off before the invasion. The sanctions imposed on Iraq was the real problem.
yes i do believe everything what they say... that what my job will be listen and act it makes no sence for u but for me it does i wanna fight for my country i wanna fight for what i believe its right if i have proof that its all a lie i'll quit my future job but until then leave me alone with my believes
what did you expected from a war? CANDY?! for god sake a war its a fight of wills... of course theirs allways casualties... but they (the soldiers) fight for what they believe in... at least they should... you ppl make a big deal out of this.. and it is... but you don't have the right to make it a big deal couz you aren't/were a soldier (and if ur a soldier complaining about this your a bastard)
end now...all those marines died for nothin? ARE U FCKN TELLIN ME THAT THEIR DEATHS MUST MEAN NOTHING?? a soldier fights for their contry/for they believe in...ur not the 1 fighting out there ur not the 1 risking ur life so shut up...
right, and MORE will die for nothing if we don't end it now. Do I need to be there to know that this is a war crime???? Remember during Nuremberg, that "following orders" was not an excuseable action? Hugo, DO YOU EVEN KNOW WHAT THE NUREMBERG TRIALS WERE?????????????
And because of that, we should just accept it, right? I don't think so.
If you're so keen to fight, then go fight, instead of sitting on the sidelines letting others do it for you.
I've left the army in my country, because I refuse to fight in america's battle, and for stupid people like yourself, and Bush. Soldiers are dead because Bush lied. Pulling out doesn't mean they 'died for nothing'... it's already clear they've died for nothing
lol i cant go yet but believe me sapper u idiot I WILL when i' old enuf... i'm not a coward and i believe that we should fight for freedom... u say its not i say it is i dont care if u believe it or not i do... so stfu stupid...
LOLOL who said i was proving my bravery??omg... i wanna defend my country ...i'll fight for my country... i cant say wich battles to fight... it'll be my duty as a soldier... like i said you may not like it but thats how it has been ... war after war... reasons are all difrent you say its the oil but until u have proof that its because of the oil and not the freedom shut up plz... yes call me stupid for believing everything my country tells me to but thats the way i am : loyal to my country.....
Defend your country? From what? Iraqis? You've got to stop listening to Dubya.
If america is fighting a fight for freedon in Iraq, then why is it so much more dangerous than before? Why do most average Iraqis just want the US out?
I'm loyal to my country, but I'm not blind, and I'm not stupid. 4000 dead US soldiers now, and you going there isn't going to change that, justify that, or prevent that. Even with thousands more US troops, people are still dying.
How is it fighting for freedom?? are you stupid?? would u like to live in a country with saddam..? i mean he is dead but theres allways ppl that r fighting for him fighting for terrorism and so on...i might be stupid arrogant and misinformed but i dont mind going to war to help other countrys yes yes yes i might not come home alive so what... u think i'm afraid of death? u think all those soldiers didnt knew what they were up for when they inlisted??
Given a choice between Saddam's Iraq and US occupied Iraq, I'd definately choose Saddam. He was a tyrant, a monster, and a lot of other things, but under his rule Iraq was a much safer place than it is now.
Instead of getting all of your information from US media, start getting it from global media and people who have actually been there.
It's easy to say you're not afraid to die when you're sitting at your 'puter. How very brave of you.
When you come home, tell me how unafraid you were.
duh their in the midle of a war... what about the other countrys.. were they safe with saddam u stupid man!lol i'm sittin on my pc for now in 2 years i wont be so stfu
No, they're not in a war. Bush called it 'mission accomplished' years ago.
What other countries? Who was saddam going to attack?
I like how you preach to me from your position of youth and complete inexperience, to someone much older who's been there and done it, and you still call me stupid. Well done.
My suggestion is to speak to some war vets, particularly those no longer in the military, before you head off to fight terrorists and prove your bravery.
i won't even answer to you anymore ... as u can see here we spent lot of letters we basicly are the only 1s commentin this video lets just end the conversation that we both have difrent opinions ok?
It was safer? Do you know saddam was basically the hitler of our time? He was killing thousands of the opposite tribe. Safer? What an idiot. I am a war veteran of iraq. I spent a total of 5 years there. Was there in 97 spent 4 years came back home for a year then went back for a year. There has been wars there before war was even declared. Please stop talking about something you know nothing about.
havocs29, I'm not saying it's safe, but it is safer. More people are dying every week in Iraq now than pre-invasion. As an Iraqi, life was safer under Saddam. Sad, but true.
As for the 'hitler of our time'... that's complete bullshit. Saddam was a bad leader, but there's dozens like him, most worse. If Kim Jong Il was conquering other countries, he may be the 'hitler of our time', but comparing Saddam to Hitler is ridiculous
I guess ordering people to kill the male children and husbands of certain tribes to make the family line extinct isn't anything like hitler. Your an idiot.
Killing off family lines of particular tribes is similar to genocide, but it isn't genocide. Saddam was never systematic, there were no 'death camps' and he never even came close to the scale of Hitler. He was a bad person no doubt, but he didn't even come close to the 6 million that Hitler had killed.
And it's a poor justification for war, when Nth Korea is killing millions, and so is Sudan.
Yes, of course he wasn't close to being hitler. But he did many similar things. It doesn't matter who was worse. The point is iraq will be a much better place to live in once the government is made strong and they are able to protect themselves. That is why we continue to stay there. It is to defend the people why their government is being established. The usa isn't the only ones who feel this way. Britain also has a strong presence. I personally worked with the sas on many occasions.
'Yes, of course he wasn't close to being hitler. But he did many similar things' sounds a little different to 'saddam was basically the hitler of our time'.
If the US was so keen to invade Iraq because Saddam was bad, as well as the WMD's and links to al qaeda, why won't they touch Nth Korea? Or Sudan? There is much worse going on there, though there's no oil.
I left my military because I won't be a part of that mess.
And trust me, north korea will have their time. There is much more involved with n korea that makes it much more dangerous. But soon they will get whats deserving of them.
Nth Korea won't get shit. Bush is stupid, but he's not suicidal. Nth Korea is the bad bastard half brother of China. As long as the US is relying on china to keep its economy afloat to fund Iraq, it won't be 'dealing' with Nth Korea in any way but through diplomacy. There's nothing to be gained (eg. oil), a lot to be lost by following that path. If Bush wants to make the world a better place, how's about he sends someone to Sudan to stop the genocide happening there?
And also to reply to a comment of yours earlier. The average iraqi does not want us to leave. Most of them want the usa and britain to be there. I can't express how many times I had women, children, and even grown men running to me hugging me. Yes there are the ones also that want us to leave and they throw rocks at the soldiers but the majority of them want us there to protect them. The news always shows the people hating on the soldiers but never show the positive so everyone thinks negatively
How is it fighting for freedom?? are you stupid?? would u like to live in a country with saddam..? i mean he is dead but theres allways ppl that r fighting for him fighting for terrorism and so on...i might be stupid arrogant and misinformed but i dont mind going to war to help other countrys yes yes yes i might not come home alive so what... u think i'm afraid of death? u think all those soldiers didnt knew what they were up for when they inlisted??
there is truly a fine line between the two and we need to figure it out. Ya can't go round butting into EVERY other countries shit try to "HELP" them, but we also can't let them march into our homes and take over this country. What we really need is a large scale mass de-population of the world. Fuck em all! Fuck everyone
I personally think that we should worry more about what goes on in our own fucking country and worry less about other countries. If they want some stupid fuck dictator running their country into the ground then let em. On the other side of that though is if we stayed out of other peoples shit then we would be nothing more then spit swapping surrender monkeys like the french
That is exactly what is sprayed on American property round the globe. We have made almost the complete world an enemy. Why that? In Europe, U.S. citizens are spit at. Same in Japan. In other countries, they shoot. GREAT! THIS MUST BE A GREAT COUNTRY! LOOK HOW MUCH ENEMIES WE HAVE!!!
The question why the U.S. cannot win this war is very easy: as long as there are any Arabs, they will attack you in Iraq with suicide bombs and snipers. Nobody could win such a war. As long as U.S. soldiers get away with committing war crimes and behave like SS, laughing at their victims, THE HATE IN THE ARAB WORLD WILL FUEL THE WAR.
Tens of thousands of American troops have died in ONE battle rather then a war. Its terrible to see the soldiers die, but it is far less of a sacrifice that was seen in previous wars.
But many of those wars were necessary. Near 100 000 US soldiers died in WW2, but that was for a cause. 67 000 soldiers died in Vietnam, that was a waste. Afghanistan was worth the life lost and Iraq, sorry they wasted it.
Big Brother is always right. If Big Brother says the mission is accomplished, than the mission is accomplished. We must not question Big Brother. If you say the mission is not accomplished, than you support Goldstein. The thought police will be escorting you to the Ministry of Love to make you sane.
Garauntee, the USA invades,Iran, this war I think was planned ,From the Elite ,the middle east has always bin against, the New world order! you ,know North American Union, The EU,see there next! that's why sunni and shiite are destroying each other,so the middleast don't get controlled by the Globalist, there just resisting the new world order!the media makes you think its about religion and terror,Divide and then Conquer!
Mission Accomplished? Yeah, right. Thats why he now has 26% approval. 1st of all what exactly was mission -- to find WMD (failed), iraq will be beacon of democracy (failed), war on terror (nothing but media overblown and overexaggerated fiction).
looks like the american multi-million dollar equipment isn`t helping them in their struggle.. Once again fucking yanks must learn to be tolerant... the hard way..
Luckily the "All none believers MUST die Islamists" don`t need to be tolerant. After all tolerance is a big hindrance if you goal is nothing short of "My religion dominates all the world"
We joined to defend freedom, to fight for our country. Neither of which this war is about. Yes, we signed the dotted line to join but we did not expect our countries leaders to misuse us and abuse their power for personal gains with so much disregard of the consequences.
"As democracy is perfected, the office of president represents, more and more closely, the inner soul of the people. On some great and glorious day the plain folks of the land will reach their heart's desire at last and the White House will be adorned by a downright moron."
Forty eight blood soaked months later, what exactly has been accomplished?
* Possibly as many as one million Iraqi dead, four million fled or displaced internally. The largest exodus since the establisment of the State of Israel in 1948.
* The erasing of the history, monuments, archeological sites of the Cradle of Civilisation.
* The kidnapping and lynching of the President and members of the legitimate government.
* The slaughter of the President's sons and grandson.
* One hundred journalists and thirty seven support workers killed. A figure in order of magnitude higher than any war zone on earth (shoot the messengers of this illegal disaster?) It seemed to be policy from day one, literally.
* Over three hundred academics assassinated and thousands fled. The education of the next generation snatched from Iraq's youth, in the country that brought near every academic subject to the world.
* Sectarian gangs roaming hospitals and pulling patients from beds and taking them to their death.
* Over two thousand physicians killed, two hundred and fifty kidnapped and eighteen thousand fled.
* Palestinians who have lived in Iraq for generations, killed, threatened and fleeing again to a no man's land unsafe in Iraq, unable to cross borders.
* Falluja, Samarra, Tel Afar, Ramadi, Al Quaim, Mahmoudia, Iskanderiya, Baquba, Haditha, Najav, Kerbala, Basra and the slaughters too many to mention, across Iraq.
* The US troops rape of a child and the burning of her family.
* Kicking down doors at 3 a.m., to humiliate, terrify - and steal family jewellery, money, valuables.
* The disappeared in their thousands.
* The destruction of an entire civil society with every institution and all records of its citizens.
* Taking a secular state and attempting to turn it into a fundamentalist theocrocy.
* Committing Nuremberg's 'supreme crime', a war of aggression, based on a pack of lies.
* Demands for impeachment increasing by the day.
* The destruction of America and Britain's image for generations to come - and the inability of their citizens to feel safe anywhere, also for generations.

Bush was just saying we had won the first part. There is no question that Iraq's government was killing and was planning to kill more. This is not even mentioning the fact that women were beaten in the street before we came. Even if are volunteer army is taking casualties they are fighting for life and freedom.

Gearhead2007Yeehaw 3 years ago
Jimbacsi: If Bush announced to anyone who worships him should jump off of a bridge, would you? Like he said, 'you are either with him or against him'. We American's no longer have the freedom to disagree with him or any of his points of view anymore. This is the great leader you worship? What used to be great about America is if we didn't agree with our leaders, we had free speech in defense. You seem to enjoy dictatorship or maybe fascism. Match wits with me? Bring friends, you'll need them.
Gearhead2007Yeehaw 3 years ago
Jimbacsi: So what did he mean by "..Major combat ops. in Iraq have ended, in the battle of Iraq, the United States and our allies have prevailed"? I suppose the banner that was in the background was a coincidence? Do you take me or anyone else for a fool? What did he mean with this speech? um... 'we're in deep shit over there, and I am too fucking dumb to know the for sure'? Or..'I can say anything because people are mostly too stupid or afraid to question me'? That's why I am smarter than you.
Gearhead2007Yeehaw 3 years ago
Jimbacsi, what did Iraq have to do with 9/11? Nothing. Saddam hated terrorists, he killed them on the spot, they came in after our illegal invasion. WMD, non-existent. Yellow-cake, Al. tubes...etc. Get the picture yet? I doubt it. Your intelligence could be summed up by the fact that only a fool follows a fool. You seem to support Bush, no matter what, which is your right. I, unlike you, do my research, I research BOTH sides of everything that is debatable. You look at one side only. I win !!!!!
Gearhead2007Yeehaw 3 years ago
Jimbacsi, you are not stating a fact. The banner, WMD's, yellow-cake, and so many other things have come back to embarrass Bush. They ignore it and/or try and rewrite history to make themselves appear innocent and point the finger elsewhere. Gullible and undereducated people, such as yourself, are easily manipulated into believing whatever they tell you. More soldiers have died in this war than people in 9/11, and you call that brilliant? You are of a simple mind, a fool following a fool.
Gearhead2007Yeehaw 3 years ago
Gearhead, how do you know YOU aren't the gullible one? How do you know my level of education? Have you got some inside intel to suggest that the banner was put there by Bush's folks? The carrier crew has claimed it as theirs. As for the deaths, they're ALL regrettable, but freedom costs. To ignore that is to be gullible. I'd rather to have our enlisted men and women handling it than civilians on our soil...and unless you and I are totally hoodwinked, there has been NO terror in the US.
Jimbacsi 3 years ago
Has anyone stopped to consider that the Iraq effort drew out Al Qaeda idiots in droves, brought them to a defunct, useless desert country and nearly obliterated them? While my family in the US has had NO terror threat whatsoever since then? This may be the most brilliant tactical move in decades.

God Bless America!

who are you kidding?.
zegatones 3 years ago
Uh.....yes!
Jimbacsi 3 years ago
The "Mission Accomplished" banner on that aircraft carrier referred to their 10-month deployment. It had nothing to do with the overall war. The Bush Administration had absolutely nothing to do with the banner either.
Jimbacsi 3 years ago
The banner was paid for by the Rebpulican National Committee and was put up by Bush's advance team. To believe that Bush would stand in front of such a declaratory banner in what was a very carefully choreographed media event and "have nothing to do with the banner" is the most ludicrous thing I've ever heard in my life. So...Bush looked up at the banner and said "Gee, I had nothing to do with this banner, but...okay." Please.
ProlefeedTV 3 years ago
Believe what you want, but Bush's team had absolutely no knowledge of the banner which referred to the carrier's 10-month mission, not the overall effort. Look, I'm not defending anything, just stating the fact.

Going to Iraq isn't proof of bravery, it's proof that you really don't know what you're doing.
I've done 10 years in the army. I know what you're in for. Call me when you come home, tell me how you feel then.
Oh, and have fun with the PTS when you come home... if you come home.
How is invading a foreign country 'fighting for freedom'? We've already got more freedom than the Iraqis have ever had.

I like how you preach to me from your position of youth and complete inexperience, to someone much older who's been there and done it, and you still call me stupid. Well done.

Please stop talking about something you know nothing about.
havocs29 3 years ago
havocs29, I'm not saying it's safe, but it is safer. More people are dying every week in Iraq now than pre-invasion. As an Iraqi, life was safer under Saddam. Sad, but true.
As for the 'hitler of our time'... that's complete bullshit. Saddam was a bad leader, but there's dozens like him, most worse. If Kim Jong Il was conquering other countries, he may be the 'hitler of our time', but comparing Saddam to Hitler is ridiculous
sapperbloggs 3 years ago
I guess ordering people to kill the male children and husbands of certain tribes to make the family line extinct isn't anything like hitler. Your an idiot.
havocs29 3 years ago
Killing off family lines of particular tribes is similar to genocide, but it isn't genocide. Saddam was never systematic, there were no 'death camps' and he never even came close to the scale of Hitler. He was a bad person no doubt, but he didn't even come close to the 6 million that Hitler had killed.
And it's a poor justification for war, when Nth Korea is killing millions, and so is Sudan.
And you think I'm the idiot.
sapperbloggs 3 years ago
Yes, of course he wasn't close to being hitler. But he did many similar things. It doesn't matter who was worse. The point is iraq will be a much better place to live in once the government is made strong and they are able to protect themselves. That is why we continue to stay there. It is to defend the people why their government is being established. The usa isn't the only ones who feel this way. Britain also has a strong presence. I personally worked with the sas on many occasions.
havocs29 3 years ago
'Yes, of course he wasn't close to being hitler. But he did many similar things' sounds a little different to 'saddam was basically the hitler of our time'.
If the US was so keen to invade Iraq because Saddam was bad, as well as the WMD's and links to al qaeda, why won't they touch Nth Korea? Or Sudan? There is much worse going on there, though there's no oil.
I left my military because I won't be a part of that mess.
sapperbloggs 3 years ago
And trust me, north korea will have their time. There is much more involved with n korea that makes it much more dangerous. But soon they will get whats deserving of them.
havocs29 3 years ago
Nth Korea won't get shit. Bush is stupid, but he's not suicidal. Nth Korea is the bad bastard half brother of China. As long as the US is relying on china to keep its economy afloat to fund Iraq, it won't be 'dealing' with Nth Korea in any way but through diplomacy. There's nothing to be gained (eg. oil), a lot to be lost by following that path. If Bush wants to make the world a better place, how's about he sends someone to Sudan to stop the genocide happening there?
sapperbloggs 3 years ago
And also to reply to a comment of yours earlier. The average iraqi does not want us to leave. Most of them want the usa and britain to be there. I can't express how many times I had women, children, and even grown men running to me hugging me. Yes there are the ones also that want us to leave and they throw rocks at the soldiers but the majority of them want us there to protect them. The news always shows the people hating on the soldiers but never show the positive so everyone thinks negatively

On the other side of that though is if we stayed out of other peoples shit then we would be nothing more then spit swapping surrender monkeys like the french

"PLEASE YANKEE GO HOME... "

Me3202093 4 years ago
But many of those wars were necessary. Near 100 000 US soldiers died in WW2, but that was for a cause. 67 000 soldiers died in Vietnam, that was a waste. Afghanistan was worth the life lost and Iraq, sorry they wasted it.

Big Brother is always right. If Big Brother says the mission is accomplished, than the mission is accomplished. We must not question Big Brother. If you say the mission is not accomplished, than you support Goldstein. The thought police will be escorting you to the Ministry of Love to make you sane.

* The kidnapping and lynching of the President and members of the legitimate government.
tbi37 4 years ago
* The slaughter of the President's sons and grandson.
* One hundred journalists and thirty seven support workers killed. A figure in order of magnitude higher than any war zone on earth (shoot the messengers of this illegal disaster?) It seemed to be policy from day one, literally.
* Over three hundred academics assassinated and thousands fled. The education of the next generation snatched from Iraq's youth, in the country that brought near every academic subject to the world.
tbi37 4 years ago
* Overflowing morgues.
* Sectarian gangs roaming hospitals and pulling patients from beds and taking them to their death.
* Over two thousand physicians killed, two hundred and fifty kidnapped and eighteen thousand fled.
* Palestinians who have lived in Iraq for generations, killed, threatened and fleeing again to a no man's land unsafe in Iraq, unable to cross borders.
tbi37 4 years ago
* Sectarian strife, militias, introduced with the invasion, between peoples who had lived together for a thousand years.
* Ongoing suicide bombings in a country where they were unheard of.
* Rigged elections, the results achieved by threats, including death, bribery, threat of ration card confiscation.
* Abu Ghraib's torture, death, sodomy, naked prisoners, electrodes. For ever 'liberation's' - and the US Army's - image.
* The uncounted numerous other secret prisons across Iraq.
tbi37 4 years ago
* Falluja, Samarra, Tel Afar, Ramadi, Al Quaim, Mahmoudia, Iskanderiya, Baquba, Haditha, Najav, Kerbala, Basra and the slaughters too many to mention, across Iraq.
* The US troops rape of a child and the burning of her family.
* Kicking down doors at 3 a.m., to humiliate, terrify - and steal family jewellery, money, valuables.
* The disappeared in their thousands.
* The destruction of an entire civil society with every institution and all records of its citizens.
tbi37 4 years ago
* Attempted theft of Iraq's oil. (Not going too well, with the pipelines being blown up - historically, that happens when theft of it looms.)
* Destruction of schools and hospitals and the inability (or lack of will) to rebuild and restock.
* The missing Iraqi and aid $billions in the grand theft auto that is the USA invasion.
* The illegal rewriting of the constitution.
tbi37 4 years ago
* The installation of a quisling government with loyalties largely, to anywhere but Iraq.
* The death squads under America's watch and for which she is - as an occupying army - responsible.
* The ghetto walls, razor wire, curfews, road blocks in Mansur's 'Round City' on the Tigris, Baghdad - and across the country.
* The soldiers that sell unthinkable photographs of the dead, maimed, tortured to porn sites in exchange for drooling over the depraved.
tbi37 4 years ago
* Taking a secular state and attempting to turn it into a fundamentalist theocrocy.
* Committing Nuremberg's 'supreme crime', a war of aggression, based on a pack of lies.
* Demands for impeachment increasing by the day.
* The destruction of America and Britain's image for generations to come - and the inability of their citizens to feel safe anywhere, also for generations.
tbi37 4 years ago
* A death toll heading towards four thousand dead US troops (admitted to) and thousands horrifically injured.
* A trillion$ plus debt and predictions of the collapse of the dollar.
* Madrid, London, Bali, Sharm El Sheikh .... [Who is behind these terror attacks?]
* Near universal loathing.
* The words 'freedom', 'democrocy' and 'liberation', consigned to shame and history's trash can.
* For ever being associated with hoods, shackles and inhumanity and illegality.

Bush was just saying we had won the first part. There is no question that Iraq's government was killing and was planning to kill more. This is not even mentioning the fact that women were beaten in the street before we came. Even if are volunteer army is taking casualties they are fighting for life and freedom.
