Great suggestion. Visit biodieseltutorial on the web (hit Google & look for the Collaborative Biodiesel Tutorial, YouTube wont' let me post a URL) and look at the Acid/Base Processing article.
What is the maximum acceptable water content in wvo before making steps to de-water the wvo? I have make biodiesel successfully that had a little water in in it. Thanks
To dewater I let it sit a few weeks or heat the wvo 140f and water seems to settle nicely in 24hrs.
Maximum limits I go by is 0.5% total water content (or 500 PPM). Much higher than that & it starts causing problems.
Yep. Visit the collaborative biodiesel tutorial from the partners link on our site and look up drying washed biodiesel. It'll show you how to do it by recirculating the oil. It's great!
How about a kit for lowering the acid content of wvo? Using sulfuric acid?
