• fml i quit guitar

  • the best

  • It looks like you're picking with your pinky or fifth finger. Are you? If so, then that is even more amazing than before.

  • Congratulations!!!

  • OMG MAN u rock!

  • this is REALLY impressive man, but i see what you're saying about the metronome thing. TRUST ME, this is incredible to the average ear, you don't need to improve it

  • Good Lord!!!

  • who the hell is marking all the comments as bad?

  • A fine interpretation and the execution was flawless! Was that learned by ear or did you use sheet music? NTJ

  • WOW:0

  • holy.....

  • calificación ...10, ni hablar!! felicidades

  • This version is the best I've heard so far! No cheasy effects or nothing!

Uberboricua is the kind of person that makes us think life is more meaningful. Thanks for showing us that there are really beautiful things around.

  • how many finger he plucks ?...its so fast, cant see clearly... i think must be 3 but my friend thinks he used only 2 ... ???

  • it's 3 damduc

  • not ever see who play better than him

  • Well the sad truth is that this guy is for real. I have witness him playing and he is even better than this. If you think he is fast, you have to see him playing his electric guitar, then you will know what fast is. Sorry to the non believers but Uberboricua is for real. Be afraid Be very Afraid!!!!

  • pls pls send me the tab of this version pls! ur awesome

  • Just five stars man,go on!

  • GREAT !

  • yeah you oughta get on leno or letterman, mebbe speed guitar competition, truly impressive and worth all minute or so...keep it up!!

  • sooo... you can play fast.

    Can you do anything else?

  • Don't worry he's already proved that he can! You just to bow in front of such dedication!

  • Hahaha, what?

Just because someone can play fast does not make them any good, and I'm certainly not 'bowing' in front of anyone.

  • Then if you wont bow just sit back relax and listen quietly :P

  • Honestly!!! Can you not see or hear anything? Are you that insecure??? What is up with you? It was a near flawless piece, no loss of rhythm at all, as well as fast. The speed is the least impressive thing, it is the perfect rythym and feeling that shines through that is so impressive, as well as the technical ability. Get a life you total loser. If you can't praise this, get out.

  • Hahahaha!

  • Hahahahaha! I've got to admit, reading that again, it actually is quite funny....

    Happy days...

  • so where can i get these machines at the end of your arms??? why havent i heard of you?

  • here's a question. How did a boricua end up in Austria? lol.

Also, any tips for playing flight of the BB? seems that you keep the ami going and try to work the left hand around that. It was very helpful the way you briefly explained Villa Lobos #2. Cheers.

  • Even though I won't be posting anything in the older videos I still quickly glance through them whenever there are new comments posted, and I certainly appreciate your feedback.

    Uberboricua

  • It's not that I don't want to communicate with you -far from it, but if you have a question it's probably best to send me a message. After a while I may answer you directly, or I will post answers in the newest video. I'm thrilled to read so many positive comments.

  • Thank you at every one of you who posted comments. I would like to answer each one of you individually, but as I mentioned elsewhere I'm kind of a lazy guy ;) (ok, time is also a concern). What I've been doing is posting the new videos, then answering comments for some weeks and then moving on to practicing for the next video.

  • @Uberboricua 4 fingers o 3 fingers did u use?

  • First, congratulations, next , i want to know where i can get the partiture. Thank you and you don't need to keep going because you're perfect!!

  • really impressed!!

  • guys, who is him? is he guitarist? any information?

  • sick! respect dude

  • looks like not fake

still far from proof ;D (if it's real this is a compliment)

  • that wasp the buizznezz!

  • AMAAAAAAAZIIIIIING!!! You're one of the best guitar players I ever saw, and I watch a lot of them... That's really awesome, I'm starting to learn guitar and one day I dream to play like you...:p

  • jajajajajajja te mamaste

  • wow increible,muy claro ,eres super limpio,felicidades!!!

  • unreal... amazing job dude plz keep it up

  • Wow, I am really impressed. Good job.

  • I want your babies, that was SICK!

  • if someone telling that this video is fake ,he hasnt got a musician ear. Respect the guy this piece is a very hard work

  • that was sick dude

  • This video is no fake. The synchronization of finger movements and music matches perfectly.Or could it be computer bumble bee,LOL!

  • Very EXCELLENT!

  • wow this was simply AWESOME congratulations

  • michael caracena.. your are a jealous GAY!!!!

michael caracena.. your are a jealous GAY!!!!

  • how is this fake he puts his hands in the exact right place?

  • Why isn't this video filmed with him on stage in front of thousands.

    it should be.

  • This is not a fake. Someone is obviously jealous. How the hell would he just speed up his hands but not his head? Seems to me if this was sped up his head would be moving like crazy.

  • And by the way, I think I can dig up another version of this piece where I’m playing it with bass and percussion. It should be up in a few days…

  • @kmurdick: I’m sure it would be possible to organize the shifts (or “jumps”) so that the left hand would fall in the frets easier, but the right hand has priority in this piece. I’m just careful that I don’t repeat a finger right after a jump (for example: finishing a part with the first and then starting after a jump with the second).

  • @RyanCacophony: Yes, in this piece I’m not using the thumb, because it’s easier (for me) to treat it as a long chromatic scale in spite of the occasional jumps.

  • Do you use guide fingers on those shifts? Just curious.

  • This one looks fake to me.

It basically looks like you tuned down your guitar,

recorded the movie, and sped up the video.

  • Well, thanks for that comment. Do you think that it cannot be played?

  • I believe this cannot be played very well on the classical guitar with either tapping or using a pick.

  • ( I'm meant "without using a pick". )

  • Im guessigng you think he tuned down the piano too?

Your a fucking dumbass, get out and go see some classical guitarists, this is very possible.

Anyways- Uberboricua, do you use your thumb in playing other classical peices? I realized it stays dormant in this peice, kind of like a bassists, is it jsut beccause there were no bass notes?

  • that last comment was to michael

  • BTW, it didn't sound like a piano but a synth. :-)

  • Simmer down RyanCacophony.

    No need for your insults.

I've played classical guitar now for over 16 years.

    In my experience,

Look, even Elliot Fisk can't play this fast so cleanly.

I'm not sure where your coming from ...

  • I have personally seen a good friend of mine play, live, in front of me, a peice using the same fingering technique at a very similar speed, and not to mention going that fast on your left hand isn't really that hard, so I am thoroughly convinced this is real, ples, the strings wouldnt sound the same when detuned then sped up. Not to mention how hard calculating exact speed to match the tuning would be.

  • First of all, this video looks fake to me.

I'm not talking about your friends playing.

    I'm talking about this video.

One can learn how to detune an instrument just so in order to speed up the audio or video later.

It's actually not that hard if you know what you are doing.

All it requires is knowledge and a good audio or video editor.

  • well, to detune your instrument an octave and then speed the vido double speed is the simplest, but to detune it in order for the strings to not sound sloppy would require and interval that would be dificult to calculate the speed change

  • There are other methods to speed up video besides detuning the instrument, recording slow, and speeding it up later.

All you need is a nice video editor ... a nice video editor can do amazing things nowadays.

  • Mikey, a nice guitarist can do great things with a guitar today as they did hundreds of years ago! In the words of the late great John Lennon in response to the kid who said the words in Across the Universe were "love is good hash" backwards. "Don't be silly". Peace.

  • The name is Michael, hamwinkie.

I have seen a lot of great guitarists here on YouTube.

Since this video looked fake to me, I commented about it.

It would actually be an insult to the guitar community to have "fakes" out there.

  • riiight. let's see you recreate the first 12 bars using your secret technology.

  • Elliot Fisk... *chuckles*

This can definitely be played so fast, since I am learning it myself in this moment, using p-a-m-i, and it definitely works. It's just a matter of practice.

    Nicely done, Uberboricua!

  • Well, once you get it done and on video,

make sure you post in a nicely light room and the video is in color. That way it might not look fake. ;-)

  • man u are retarded

  • Again, silly comment and unwarranted. Just appreciate music. Peace.

  • I didn't think it was a silly comment and it definitely wasn't unwarranted.

I thought this video was a fraud and so I commented about it.

I have seen a lot of fast guitarist.

And I have viewed more than a few video clips on YouTube.

The only apology I can make is for being honest: this one looks fake to me.

  • I am an expert. This is not fake. Why would it be? Secondly, you have no right to comment so incorrectly and have an asses judgement expecting all to just look and say "well he has a point". You are wrong and I can prove it. The video proves it! What you proved is you are not a happy person. I pity you and your type. Lighten up! Practice your guitar! An hour a day! Peace.

  • I have already previously detailed why I think this video is a fake.

hamwinkle, I'm not going to attack your character in order to try to convince you I'm right.

    I'm just stating my opinion.

I understand you think this video is legit,

    I respect your opinion.

However, I realize, at the same time, I don't share it.

I would be lying to you if I said it looked real.

Perhaps, if I see this guy play in person I would be convinced.

    Until then, peace.

  • you're a moron. but you've paid him a great compliment.

  • Uberboricua,

Do you play with short nails? Are there any exercises you can note that help to build speed?

    Cheers,

    Nevergrowup.

  • My nails are not particularly long; they extend out maybe 2 mm on average. There are some exercises that I regularly practice, and I guess I could post them here after I’m done with posting the other stuff. Why not, I’ll put it on my to-do list.

  • please do!

  • Wow!Zaccek, she is one of my favorite!I really love her new Romantic album...I wish to see your new music and hope that you will enjoy your class with Zaczek!Ciao,,

  • hey!I really love it,,thank you for your music.I'm guitarist from thailand and study music in Austria too(Graz).Who do you study with in Vienna?anyways,I think you can speak german, bis dann!

  • Thanks. I was a student of Brigitte Zaczek and I'll bet I gave her lots of headaches. She was right about many things, but I guess some things you just have to learn for yourself, and I know I can be difficult at times.

  • I do not think it cannot be done, however there have been so many fake videos of this piece, I was simply assuming such a thing. I do apologize, and also where is it that you study? And are you planning for any competitions in the future?

  • Hey Nicole, no problem (we need a beer smiley in this forum). I currently study at the Music University in Vienna, and before that I studied at the University of Puerto Rico. I’m in my mid thirties, so I’m kind of past the age for competitions (and I’ve never been so interested in them, lazy as I was). When I’m done with the doctorate studies, I’ll go full blast with the music. Now I’m just doing a recording here and there (and sometimes I play polkas and oldies just for kicks).

  • I would apologize for not reading further but my comments were then warranted. Nice to see you are humbled enough to respond intelligently. peace.

  • Stop posting these stupid fake FOTBB videos. This is the most obvious one I have ever seen. I won't even go into details. Did you think you could actually get people to believe this garbage?

  • If you think it’s fake because you don’t think it can be played, then I’ll take that as a compliment. But I have seen this piece played live enough times by different players (not to mention that I have played this live a few times myself) to know it’s real. I’ll post my next video around June: Villa Lobos Etude No. 2. What instrument do you play, by the way? You should know that this piece can be played a lot faster; it’s only a matter of practice.

  • what makes you think its fake? as a classical guitarist studying at peabody conservatory, i can attest to the (sadly) reality of this video. if you had ever played guitar, you would realize that hes actually playing. i say sadly because i will never be able to play that fast. some peoples muscle fibers are just built differently. in any case, uberboricua, congratulations. im interested to see how you do with something slow... another post, perhaps?

  • I appreciate your comments. And I definitely want to post something slow; there are plenty of pieces that I’m going to record, so there’ll be no shortage of videos. I think that I’ll be posting something new every month (maybe two months, maybe more often) but it depends on when I get around to it. It’s so refreshing recording music that you really like, and part of the appeal of this site is recording these DIY videos :)

  • You are obviously ignored by most but my serious question is: Why? Why be such an odd negative person when one is making something so beautiful? Music is a universial language. Cheerish it, praise it but do not act like an immature fool. Thank you. Peace.

  • I've always thought it'd be amazing to be able to play flight of the bumble bee on the guitar'cause I love classical and I also play guitar. I only hope I can be half as good as that someday. Good job

  • Thanks. Although I hear many music styles, my favorite is also classical. I’ve heard this played on electric and acoustic (or semi-acoustic) guitars, and it sounds very convincing. But my favorite sound is still with the classical guitar LOL

  • damn you`re fast

  • Thank you.

  • One has to be to play this piece!

  • thats amazing ,how do you play scales so fast on a classical guitar

  • Thanks for your comment. I just posted this video, but for some reason the audio and video are not in sync, although the original MPG is. In answer to your question, I’d have to say that the most difficult part about this piece is finding the fingering for the right hand. Some players use p-i-m-a, or a different sequence of that fingering. I use several combinations, depending on the situation (at first I thought I wouldn’t have the patience to learn this piece!).
