  • Oh Honey, I love you! x

  • *****

  • what the fuck is up with this intro… terrible….

  • eric burdon is so drunk on the stage

  • the only people don't like it, is cause there's no bullshit autotune...Autotune needs to DIE!!!!

  • this is fucking greatt shit

  • EPIC!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I disapprove of his improve. Also that shirt is unforgivable.

  • Hes getting older and worse but im still proud of him keep on going from the 60s till today

The 60s version of micheal jackson

    The 90s version of tupac

the 70s version of the rollingstones

    the 20s version of eminem

    INPSIRED MILLIONS :,D

  • Nobody says "baby" like ERIC

  • he looks so stoned

  • The solo Neal Morse is playing is great on this version

  • now you can really appreciate the animals original keyboard player.. that has to be really hard to duplicate.

  • 1.14- 1.30 This is The Animals from my time

  • To marokokisetter. Yes it seems he has just doesn't seem possible. It's those hard years as a rocknroller in a great band. Still the voice. Great.

  • All of you asking why he changed the way of the song, well every artist does it.

Do any of you make love with your wife in the same position for 40 years?

  • wow hes hammered

  • 88 people spends their lives in sin and misery....

  • they make hawaain shirts look sinsiter :D

  • @2008Raw2008 Yeh.... you gradually watch someone getting old xD great voice...

  • Does anyone know what guitar is this ?

  • This is 1/2 Spock's Beard and 1/2 Eric Burden Animals. Neal Morse on Keys and Dave Meros on Bass, 2 incredible musicians from Spock's Beard.

  • Wow...!!!

  • check out Neal Morse quoting Spock's Beard's "The Water" at 2:49

  • Oh Mother tell your baby children.... don´t be a fool like me...!

spend my life... in the graphic design!... but it' s great...!

  • Ladies and gentlemen: Neal Morse on keys :-D

  • The keyboard player, Neal Morse, is a musical master in and of himself. Check out his solo work, and his work with Spock's Beard, and Transatlantic.

  • its funny hes way too emotional for that guitarist at 5:55 lol

  • Eric Burden was soooo sexy in the 60's. mmmmm

  • i like more the original version

  • @asdsaid You've never heard the original version.

  • Great. The MasterBator

  • @SpiderwebandLace ^^

I see what you did there

  • Great. The master

  • the unforgettable eric burdon and the animals undoubtedly good singer

  • if i could only singone tenth as good as this guy i would never stop singing :).

  • 1:32 lol @ the guy in the crowd to the right tryign to keep the beat

  • Pure Blues

  • Great, love it :)

  • wow.. he aged quite a lot in 10 years.. compared to the 2008 live vid

  • Shame singers like this aren't produced anymore :/

  • made a fortune on a hit years ago .....an i come from the same town as him...and this is well........not very good......

  • my little sistser was born in january 23 1999 did eric do anything at that day? O.o lol

  • who is this guitar player? he's crazy!

  • Cocaine is one hell of a drug

  • wow... amazing vocals, amazing performance. I didn't know he was still singing these years. And what a feeling and soul he put to the song... great twists and improvs!

  • im watching this as the thirty second chilian miner gets rescued and not a better song for it

  • Even Eric Burdon, who is known to be the original singer of this song, does alternative version... Still some idiots fight over other band's cover, how they 'misinterpreted' the song or how 'dare' they ruined it. Don't you see? This song isn't about the accuracy. It's about the story, the emotion and the feeling. Please. How can't you not see that while it's so obvious?

  • @linaseoyonpark The song is hundreds of years old, and likely came from England, so at this point, it would be hard to ague that it was misinterpreted.

  • @linaseoyonpark still, people can just not like this version. People like me, for example. I don't say, that this song can't have variaions. I like muse version. But this... nope. Just not.

  • @linaseoyonpark this song is atleast 100 years old how is he the original singer

  • @linaseoyonpark This song was recorded Alger "Texas" Alexander in 1927, you should get some facts straight before you say silly things. People are aloud to have opinions if they live version of there own song is dreadful. Personally i think this is incredibly annoying and repetitive.

  • @linaseoyonpark sorry, but Eric Burdon was not the original singer of this song. this song is already from 1933 or 34. cople musicians did this song, incl Bob Dylan on his first album 1961/62.. the animal came with this song after dylan, with a softer version, defused words, they made it to a blues version and recorded it 1964.. it was the first hit for this song, but not the original

  • i agree

  • who originally wrote this song btw im confused! :(

  • @skerskies i think it was just one of those folk songs that everyone knew and forgot who wrote it, however, I'm just guessing

  • @skerskies noone ever knew....but the best gueesss is a dude named ledbelly,,,his seems to be the oldest.

  • Eric Burdon is a great singer. You think you could sing like that when your... 58? No, you couldn't. Obviously when he was 25 he was a little better but he is still good now.

  • I saw him in 1968. How nice to have this tune still sung by the same man. It's a chronology of your own life showing all the milestones along the way.

  • The keyboard player is gettin' it

  • amazing!

  • you know i love eric- he was amazing but this is what happens when a band gets commercialized- like kiss- instead of being the mad and angry rock and rollers they now do commercials for docter pepper- point is they tought him tricks to try to be hip in the 1990s when he was a singer from the 60s, hes still amzing- alot because hes still singing now and he still has a bit of that badasss in him

  • Burdon is not the young Burdon...but the 60's years.

Watch the film of Casino (Deniro,Peschi,Stone). The part of "day of reckoning", in the end! I think this Eric Burdon' s song, was a good idea in the film.

Eric should be forevermore, the voice of the "day of reckoning"!

    Peace X)

  • a miilion times better than the original

  • all is perfect, fabulous mythical succes, but for a star like Eric Burdon, please, a real Hammond B3 on stage !

    best regard

  • I want to see him every time he comes to Lake Tahoe and I always miss it, so I watch on youtube

  • Eric, a little too much too drink??!!

  • Well, I'd like to know what they're doing now? Yes, it's nice to go back in time and see how music has changed.

  • I love its song y más aun a Eric.... tengo todas las versiones es una de mis favoritas...

  • I love its song y más aun a Eric....

  • very powerful voice, AWESOME!

  • this looks like it was better than the 2008 show.

but he still kind of took his 'new animals' in a nowhere direction, from what i've gleaned on youtube.

  • he's singing (not lyp sincing like 90% of the modern singers). I don't care -it's raw -it's live& he's putting his soul into it. The music is great!

  • Erick Bourdon como todos tiene todo el derecho de hacer un revamp de la antigua y hermosa versión de La casa del sol naciente" ambas son hermosas.

  • Great, although Eric seems to be high, great performance and great musicans.

    Werner

  • This is awsome! So powerful!

  • Why does he keep changing the song, it sounded great in the original version.

  • Personally, I like this version a lot more than the old. And this is Eric Burdon, the legend. Hes the king of rock and he proves that at every concert. He changes his songs ev'ry time. You can't do any better than him. It's the truth, Burdon is the truth, not only the blues.

  • better than the original version? omfg

  • im sorry but i dont feel the way i did with the oringinal raw song, this sounds more of an entertainer karioke thing rather than the real blues

  • Sorry, but this is no blues, this is prog-metal. And this is by far more creative than the original version(s).

  • Hey, just kinda cool to see Ansley Dunbar, w/ Eric. Maybe see ya w/Tom

in the S.Cruz Mnts ina few yrs, if I EVER

decide to go back to Felton!! ha !

    tim/tiapromo

  • While true, I'd like to point out that Eric was knee-deep in drugs during the 90's, I highly doubt he was clean during this performance.

Also I'm sure he's quite bored of performing it in it's original sound, so he makes it different so he can enjoy singing it himself.

  • i love how you can still see his younger self in him :)

  • Who cares if he still gots it in 20 years he has givin us a lifetime of blues to enjoy and how many people sing this great live....

  • Eric is the male master of this song. Who is the female master? Check out Judy Shire if you want to hear the female master with a very different version of The House of the Rising Sun.

  • Renegadesays what the fuck can you sing. Eric is in his 60's. A Blues/soul voice like his cant lat forever everyone who can sing knows this. Eric i a legend.

  • Buena versiòn, para què... un clàsico del Rock & Roll (circa 1964 o 1965)... bravo Eric Burdon

  • damned, I think this is the best live version on utube. so fuckin great!

  • We love Eric Burdon. He is a great musician. We've known him for many years, he is a good customer and friend from New Orleans Music Exchange,!!!! He loves to come to New Orleans and he attended a wedding from some very good friends also in the music business, Shmuela and Ira Padnos. It is a great song and The House of the Rising Sun does really exist in New Orleans in the French Quarter!!!!

  • if people think that eric burdon can sing the same 30 years from when this song came out, they're stupid. Yes he might be on drugs this concert but you syill have to take into consideration that this band is not like it was 30 years ago.

  • There is a consert clip posted on youtube that's just a couple of years old, and they play the song asthey used to. And he's back in shape :) Awesome!

  • And the background! These fantastic improvisations! For me it's freakingly awesome!

  • cmon guys give the guy a break, hes a living legend, obv his voice is gonnae go a bit so he has to change his singing style to suit.

  • you have to understand erics been doing this song since the 60's. as an artist, there's no way hes gonna keep doing it the same way

  • i agree just ok , but not THE house song we all know.....

  • singin a fuckon retard way..but why?! he can sing much better than this...boy boy boy girl girl gilr boy boy..........

  • is not the same ;/

in this video, the are too proud ;]

this song is simply and magic ;)

it would be better, when they was singing like in 64'

  • 1:25 the guy playing keyboard is rocking out

  • i sing that song better

  • this is not good...way too much changing of classic song

  • You're right, man. Don't know why sometimes singers think to make it cool by adding so much shit inside, that simply overloads the piece itself destroying it

  • You can still hear the young Eric Burdon inside him ;D

Good to hear he still has a good voice but its not as good as it used to be

I enjoyed this video muchly but still prefer the older version ;D

  • I really think they should go back to the original.

This is just ok, where as the original was immensly amazing!

  • i can play that organ

  • see, this is why I love youtube, to see a song in 1964, 1976, 1990, and 2008 and see someone - and a song for that matter evolve.

thank you everyone who uploads these videos!

    Leslie

  • i just went to see thee animals in liverpool today they were good diffrent singer like but was still gd

  • he dosen't sound as good as in the 60s.

did they ( the animals ) write this song? im very sure but they might have covered it.

  • No,it`s an old blues standard.

But nobody knows who did it.

Alan Price got the credit as arranger,

    even though they all particapeted

  • im pretty sure they wrote it! i havent heard any of these covers by other bands! any one know a good one?

ANIMALS are great btw one of my favs

  • The Animals DID NOT write this song, though I prefer their version to any other. The earliest I've heard dates back to around the 30's. A version of the song by Huddie Ledbetter A.K.A Leadbelly.

  • Another famous cover of Leadbelly song is Where did you sleep last night by Nirvana.

  • @ATFrez the writer of the song is lost to history, it did first appeared in sheet music with pretty much the same lyrics in the late 1890s. i have heard, and there are several recordings of it between 1901-1920, . some are done quite operatic or to the standard ragtime tempo and quavering tenor style of singing of the WWI period. got it's first bit of fame in the late 30s by Leadbelly, not much fame, but enough to be found on records and revamped by the Animals in the 60s.

  • i also do think, its around the 30's..there's also a version from the beatles or so..dunno.

  • the solo is nice, oldschool version is better

  • the old microphones makes it a lot better imo

  • it's not the same... :'(

    but still exelent!!!!

  • y doesn't he sound British anymore? :(

  • idk dude lmao good question haha

  • bass player is my neighbor

  • really!

  • @5MIKESTV really?

  • Why can't he just sing the song normally? I hate when they do like that. The song sucks that way :'(

  • You are so right....My father loves THE ANIMALS, we are planning to go watch them this year. Eric still has the strong voice, but the instruments sound horrible. Their music was made with classic instruments..it's a classic song we like and want to hear....These were my dads time...i'm 37 and no one better than the ANIMALS.

  • I shared a flat with eric in london. He's a great character and an old pro

  • i couldnt agree more

  • wow ty for uploading love this song

  • WTF, is doing EB, he still the same.. after all of those years...

  • every time he hits that high note "my mother was a tailor" it gives me shivers...awsome performance i seen him this year in ct

  • @tatethompson1234 I read this comment before hearing it in the song, and wondered what you were on about... then i experienced it... full body shiver.

  • great song... great musicians... great concert

  • I love the way EB improvises his old hits, why would he want them to sound the same all the time? He still sounds fantastic, his voice is as great as ever and I think it's a blessing that he is still recording and touring. Vive EB!

  • I totally agree with you, when he comes in at 1:23 it's all there...thank you for sharing this.

  • And then....♫

    More convincing than a certain

    Mick Jogger ☺

  • yeah damn right!!!!!I'm 24 and he's one of my idol!!! and on the top of that nobody expect the impro, that makes him a REAL artist,,,,,,these are good musicians as well, JUST LOVE THE ANIMALS AND ERIC BURDON

  • @magusmagic2 you know i love eric- he was amazing but this is what happens when a band gets commercialized- like kiss- instead of being the mad and angry rock and rollers they now do commercials for docter pepper- point is they tought him tricks to try to be hip in the 1990s when he was a singer from the 60s, hes still amzing- alot because hes still singing now and he still has a bit of that badasss in him

  • @magusmagic2

    I didn't like this version..

  • This is so fucking terrible. Fuck.

Nonetheless, I'm a huge fan of The Animals from back in the 1960s :\

  • omg that was terrible. I think Eric is drunk, seriously. Just sing the song, don't add all this extra stuff to it. Also get a guitarist who can play the arpeggios live + An overdriven strat is not right for this song. (I know I'm probably going to get flamed for saying this)

  • why to get flamed man!! i totally agree with you! this song is supposed to express sorrow and some sadness somehow! and the way they play it.. ** sigh ** .. they play it in a very misleading way, in my opinion at least! i just don't like it at all!!

  • I couldn't agree with you BOTH more!!!

I hate when artists change up their songs SO much for live performances...

To give an example... This and if you've ever seen the Queen Live Aid, Bohemian Rapshody sounded SO much different. :(

  • dudes, its called being creative, people don't go tho watch an artist live to hear them play the same old thing they heard on the record...if anything I thnk he took it back to its blues roots here, he improvised the lyrics for the most part, and that makes it all the more soulfull, it came from the heart.

  • I think they sound alright. But what are they doing now?

  • This a taste of Soul music...

just they shall do it better than the original one...

  • Holy CRAP!

    AMAZING STUFF!!!

Was watching the original one... damn this one Rocks Too!

  • This is one of my favorite songs. The voice is still there (whereas mine is shot), the audio quality is there, the muscianship is there, but the spirit of the song is not the same as in the days of old.

    Still, an interesting performance.

    ADT

  • thats shit, he has ruined a perfectly good song, stupid old fart.

  • this guy is the singer of The Animals and you are the stupid fart!!!

  • say sorry and get out...

  • fantastic!

  • Great performance
