This is tower bridge NOT London bridge, the song was written because London bridge was constantly burning or collapsing due to early days of it being made of wood, the Americans ended up paying millions for it thinking it was tower bridge and were slightly embarrassed by the whole affair and so stuck London bridge in the middle of nowhere so I believe. I see American still think the tower bridge is called London bridge, we should sell them the wrong bridge again and get ourselves out of recessi
