  • For any other musicians out there. Did any of you notice this song is polyphonic. I think there were 4 voices. I'm not sure. tell me what you think.

Also, this song is to all you sinners out there

  • @PANDORASBOXRELEASE actually it sounds like each of those 4 parts has at least 3 voices in them, they blend quite nicely but if you listen closely you can almost discern the voices

  • The girl singing in this, is she in any other songs of this album..?

  • How many of you look up the lyrics and sing along to the song... I DO :D

  • @Roxashater3 You dont memorize them? Huh...

  • @Roxashater3 I do the same and I find it easier to follow along with.

  • Definitely my favorite song on this album. :D

  • I never thought some one could make Beethoven out to be such a bad ass..good Job TSO..

  • sounds like the father from repo the genetic opra

  • Sounds like Jack Skellington is the singer.

  • Mephisto pheles <3 blue exorcist anyone?

  • @joligra no, just no. go read Faust.

  • @LuminOfMoonlight we know Mephisto is from Faust ...you don't have to bitch about it. The guys from Ao no exorcist chose to use his name for one of their characters, so yea, when i see the name "Mephistopheles" I think of Faust but also of the character. Not such big of a deal.....chill out

  • @RSVDCN Look, Blue Exorcist was cool and all, but this song has nothing to do with it. And the phrase "no, just no," is not bitching in any way. Perhaps you want to try using PMs instead of the comment section if you want to call someone out just because they dethroned a top comment with something less relevant to your interests, savvy?

  • @joligra I love Mephy ;D and this a&m ;D

  • Jeff Scott Soto!! I saw them last night for their Winter Tour and he's amazing live!

  • Okay, someone help me. "Tell me what you think, tell me what you know, did you really think that there would be an ever-after? Do you think I'm scared? ???????? show. ??????????????????? laughter."

  • @Sylence777 According to the official TSO site:

"Tell me what you think, tell me what you know

Did you really think that there would be an ever after

Do you think I'm scared, tell me does it show

When inside this deafness I can always hear his laughter"

  • Alistor, Mephistopheles, and Astaroth make up the REAL Big Three, with Charsoc and Balthazaar close behind.

  • This song is EPIC!!! Anyone know if TSO has any other good vocal tracks? (I just started listening to them lol)

  • @HyperShadowDaBeast

I would recommend from "Beethoven's Last Night":

This one, "The Dark" and "What Is Eternal?"... also if you're into female rock voices "The Dreams of Candlelight", "I'll Keep Your Secrets" and "After The Fall".

From "Night Castle" my favorites are:

"There was A Life" and "Epiphany"... though there are many other good ones.

  • One of their best song ;)

    after Mephistopheles .

  • I love this song!

  • I ove Jon Olivas part

  • Is it me or did I just hear Chuck Noriss' approval?

  • So happy I get to be a fun like number - 400 and not part of the cool crowd of 3

  • I flew to the USA from Australia in April to see them at Atlantic City in April for their Beethoven tour. I plan to go again in nov to see them in Philly. I can't wait :)

  • Love!!!!!!!!!!

  • I LOVE IT when people take such happy themes, throw a few accidentals in there, and make an EPIC song like this!!!!!!!!!

  • I had this CD!!! I love it!

  • natália és uma puta do caralho

  • So is Mephistopheles like the grim reaper? O.o

  • @xxbabyblacknessxx Mephistopheles is a demon in German folklore that is a servant for Satan.

  • @RuinsofWar ah ok ^^ thanks

  • @RuinsofWar. Also best known as the demon in Faust. I have heard him referred to at times as the Demon of Deals.

  • it seems those 2 people are very frustrated they couldn't follow the lyrics

  • There are videos for all their albums, aren't there?

  • @Shmook1

Dont need this path before me, dont need forgotten glory, dont need these threats of violence, dont need eternal silence. dont need these midnight visions, dont need to make decisions, dont need to be uncertain, dont need this final curtain. Equally awesome stuff. GOD THIS SONG ROCKS!

  • Make that 2 deaf people....

  • @TinselAggie was that you?

  • @elkor101 Nope. TSO's too good to dislike :-)

  • 1 person is deaf

  • @WilmingtonBobcats95 Yes, his name is Beethoven.

  • Sometimes I think that when arrives the demons singing, it is somthing like Queen's Bohemian Rhapsody.

  • Greatest Villain sucks song EVER! Yeah!!!!!!!!!!

  • Can someone please tell sometimes where I find the lyrics and who is that? That would be really great!

  • @angeloffantasy90 id google the lyrics but the singer is jeff scott soto

  • If they made a super battle movie based on this album, Beethoven would be a master swordsman, Twist would be a fencing master and Meph would have this sick staff made of skulls. This would be the final battle scene between Beethoven and Mephistopheles, and the world is crashing down around them. As Meph is about to win, Twist throws his rapier through his heart, killing him (this time), and saving Beethoven. Also, Mozart is there, and he's a dashing pirate who sailed with Beethoven. Don't ask.

  • @CaptainCrowbarman Would that mean Salieri is a ninja? :P

  • @TheEarthforge Possibly. He definitely has martial arts training. He could also be a monk.

  • @CaptainCrowbarman what about Fate? I am thinking....archer

  • @jokes33186 Fate's either the angel that appears to Beethoven to aid him in his task to destroy Mephistopheles, or she's the mage/healer with the vast knowledge, incredible advice, and strange sense of humor used when the comic relief (Don't know who yet, give suggestions) fails in his antics.

  • @CaptainCrowbarman its got to be twist... he is described as a funny sort of guy

  • @jokes33186 Strange, I've always pictured him as the cryptic dude nobody knows anything about but Fate, but she's not telling. I know, he'll be both!

  • @jokes33186

Twist is suppose to be Fate's deformed son I believe.

  • @CaptainCrowbarman dude! omg I love it XD

  • @CaptainCrowbarman that.. is one of the best random comments i have ever read, I'll thumbs up that. but shouldn't beethoven also be wounded before Twist can save him [see as he does die at the end of the CD ]

  • @JadenIttanenn3 See, he's mortally wounded by Mephistopheles, and if he dies directly from them, he goes to the realm of the truly dead, instead of the realm of the enlightened dead (e.g. Hell, as opposed to Heaven). Twist defeats Meph, but cannot save Beethoven from his other wounds. To grant him peace and rest, Fate ends his life calmly and mercifully.

  • @CaptainCrowbarman twist?

  • @CaptainCrowbarman

Sounds like some Final Fantasy bullshit lol.

  • @Shadowthrone08 Hey, the formula works. Don't try to deny that.

  • @CaptainCrowbarman Marry me.

  • @CaptainCrowbarman What would Bach be?

  • @worshipme513 Excellent question... Beethoven... swordsman with a dark past... Mozart... a pirate... Twist... maybe a rogue... and Meph... definitely a necromancer. If we can assume Fate is the knowledgeable priest, then Bach might have to be either the ranged guy or the mage.

  • @CaptainCrowbarman Who is the tank then?

  • @CaptainCrowbarman Aye, in a pirates seas it be making perfect sense, savvy?

  • @CaptainCrowbarman Had me at "don't ask".

  • @CaptainCrowbarman YOu sir win all of my internets

  • @CaptainCrowbarman nah, Mozart would be the wise jedi master who trained Beethoven in the art of musical combat. ;D

  • I guess Mephistopheles still isn't happy with how he could not destroy the 10th symphony

  • This song is insanely awesome. I love it.

  • Absolutely brilliant! The Pathetique sonata doesn't get as much attention as Beethoven's other works. But TSO takes it to a whole new level!

  • Just saw TSO perform Beethoven's Last Night tonight. They didn't play this song, for whatever reason. Depressing, as this is probably my favorite song on the album.

  • @Paradoxymoron92 Yeah, that really threw me off. I was sad too. The only reason I could think of is that they don't have enough people for the repeating verses...

  • @Kairr13: This song, in the story is older Beethoven speeking, and older Beethoven was sung by JODY ASHWORTH. Jon Oliva sang 'Mephistopheles' (different song) and 'Misery'. ;)

  • Who sings this?

  • It 'isn't Jon OLiva?

  • A fun (& deep) exploration of what might've went into making Beethoven, man and music, and a possible explanation for constant revelations of unknown works - hidden masterpieces still being discovered within furniture/walls of his home...

It also 'interviews' the life of each of us,singularly.. What was worth the price, what was delusion, what is now wearying or possibly regretted -& are we surprised in discovering life's true value[s] are?

Using his music, I LOVE the lyric of ths play!

  • if you are reading this, its too late. the world is run over with flying monkeys and ninja penguins... you should have listened to me when i said the pigeons are escaping. the army cant keep them away. they are throwing grenades and are shooting bazookas. help theyre everywhere...

  • This is a concept album centered around the last night of Ludwig Van Beethoven's life. He is rumored to have been met by the fallen archangel Mephistopheles the night before his death, and the album revolves around this.

  • This song reminds me of The Nightmare Before Christmas song.

  • This song has been stuck in my head since last friday, when I first saw it. Freakin' amazing stuff.

  • The perfect combination of dark and beautiful.

  • brilliant song!

  • Mephistopheles = Prince of the Deal aka Faustian Contract. WIN! *loves and dies*

  • I CAN NOT get enough of this song, oh man.

  • thats twice where beethovens sonata in c minor is used!

  • From 2:14-3:16, i swear i had an overload of jizzment. That part of the song is hands down the best!

  • There comes a time you decide

What from your life will be real

What scars you will keep alive

What you are willing to heal

    AMAZING!!

  • Amazing words and amazing sound ....

  • they need to have music videos to this or have a contest for music videos i would love to make one for them and it be like on tv or something that will be cool

    TSO is awseome!!!♥♥♥♥

  • @froggermea96 Actually you can do that and send it to them. I have a friend who did one for Avenged Sevenfold and they have put it on their website. It could pretty cool !!

  • Anybody know who sings this? I don't mean TSO, but the actual singer. Thanks! <3

  • @CossetteDAuvergne it is somewhere on their website

  • @CossetteDAuvergne It almost sounds like Danny Elfman at first.

  • @SameInari lol thats funny did u know in corpse bride he actually sings one of his songs that he made?

  • @froggermea96

Did you know he was actually Jack Skellington in Nightmare Before Christmas. You're mind . . . blown. So he sang a lot of the songs in that movie. Ever heard of the band Oingo Boingo?

  • @XxnkklllllxX Actually Danny Elfman, the one who provided Jack Skellington's singing voice never was a member of TSO.

  • @XxnkklllllxX Unless you're talking about Danny Elfman and not talking about TSO.

  • @Aerosmith589

I was only talking about Danny Elfman. And Oingo Boingo. Someone else brought him up

  • @CossetteDAuvergne Rob Evan, I believe.

  • @pokeyjo61 - Thanks!!! And it makes sense, as he was in Jekyll & Hyde! Glad that he is familiar and I'm not just losing my mind!

  • @CossetteDAuvergne

Actually, Rob Evan did the Tour, but this is the original recording which is off the album. This is actually Jon Oliva's voice, he is one of the founders of TSO and Savatage.

  • @CossetteDAuvergne Rob Evan

  • There comes a price when one signs away their soul to the devil for eternal fame.

  • Thanx 0yeahman for sharing these great songs. I listen 2 heavy metal and looked up TSO 2 see what the fuss is about. Now I see. This shits badass!

  • @ytubehodges

Welcome then to this beautiful genre. This whole album is amazing

  • im sorry but while i listen to this song i can stop imagining beehtoven standing in a position that looks likehes doin the disco without his hands moving and his foot is like moving up and down...but this is a really good song

  • No, it is to late... This path you take...

  • I had my brother download the cd, nut for some wierd reason this song is only 34 sec. long :(

  • where do you get the lyrics??!

  • @JanineBrandywine best to go to

    darklyrics

  • @froggermea96 Thank you soo much :D

  • @JanineBrandywine ur welcome :D

  • This is not the usual TSO style of music. Strange, defenitly weird, but strangely good.

  • Somewhere out there He still gazes; As I wander through there paces. Death and Life here; Truth or Lies Every thought is well disguised. Now, It is too late; This path to take. Don't want to lose my life this way. Medusae Dreams The Dead still scream Don't want to see my life betrayed. Awesome stuff.
  • @Shmook1

    SOMEWHERE OUT THERE

    HE STILL GAZES

AS I WANDER THROUGH HIS MAZES...I think those are the correct lyrics.

  • @benbrook I'm pretty sure it's either "phases" or "paces", I saw the website that I'm guessing you coppied the lyrics from, but they have something else wrong on it.

  • @Shmook1

I don't think so. In the paper book that comes with the CD, it says "As I wander through his mazes."

Sorry if I sound rude though, I don't mean to be, just saying.

  • @benbrook Oh, I guess it is then, I don't have the booklet at my disposal at the moment, I mean, those have been wrong before, but it is hard to hear it, I understand what you're saying.

  • 0 people disliked this video :D

  • Chills, man. Chills.

  • What is the name of the real song used at 0:38?

  • @phantomofhepiano

the first movement of beethoven's grande sonate pathétique

  • i love 3:00-3:30. they are BEAST!

  • This orchestra could use a guitar would just make the songs more EPICER :)!!

  • most is not all have a guitar, and some times its just hard to pick it out with all the other instruments they use. but if u go to a concert you will see what i mean. @jerhinus

  • @nuggtzofFun you are right :) I've just heard it :D

  • @jerhinus If you listen carefully you can hear the tell-tale sound of each power chord being strummed.

  • 2:10-3:16

    Wow...

    Just absolutely and completely EPIC!!!

  • This song is tight!!!!!!!

  • I ♥ it.

  • this stuff is amazing

  • If you go to a concert you can find out what its about!

  • One Of The Best Vocalist I Know . Jon is GREAT , as a Composer, as a Singer .. And This song Is absolutly incredible ...

  • i read the story of this album on their website, sounds like it could make an awesome musical based on it

  • probably the coolest song ever made

  • Mephistopheles is actually pretty cool until Misery comes along. Then he's just a jerk, and his singing voice gets way worse too.

  • (i)

  • I love this song! Def a fav of mine

  • this is my favorite by far cuz of the singing and this is my fav song...

  • This is the best song from TSO in my opinion 5/5 and faving

  • Is this a Rock Opera based on the life of Beethoven?

  • pretty sure it is.

  • @0yeahman actually his death

  • @0yeahman no not exactly, it is more so a concept album that takes beethovens themes, its not actually about beethoven however, but there is a lot of covers of his symphonies.

  • no,the last night of his life,he finishes his 11th symphony and satan tries makin a deal to give him extra life in return for the 11th symphony

  • @YoJimBoHugabaJoe

Gahh i'm gonna be a little prick here i know and i'm sorry but

    Mephistopholes is NOT satan.

    Different being entirely

  • @YoJimBoHugabaJoe His 10th symphony.

  • @DirectrixM It's based on Beethoven's last night. Like the album title. Go to the TSO website. They have the story and narration that goes between the songs.

  • @DirectrixM yep yeps! i saw them last night and it, well, ROCKED!!!! rofl

  • @DirectrixM

It's based on the last night of Beethoven's life. Wikipedia has a good writeup on the plot if you're interested.

  • @DirectrixM based on last night of his life, satan comes and offers him more life in exchange for the music he currently writing

  • @DirectrixM

This is based upon the Faust legend. It was possibly invented as a means of declaiming a fairly successful scholar at the time, as the church often did.

Faust was a highly successful scholar but he felt unfulfilled and made a deal with Mephistopheles in search of unlimited knowledge and pleasure. Mephisto agrees to serve Faust until he is content, at which point he gets his soul.

The Faust story came long before Beethoven :p

I could go on about the story but limited characters.

  • @iamantony1

Ignore what I said :p This was meant for March of Mephisto.
