instead of erasing you can just copy the picture you want in and then delete the layer, paste new layer, witch will paste the picture you want or the way you did it you could have just gone right click > Cut...

You know what would be really helpful? A tutorial about how to remove the background from a regular image!!! I'm not trying to bag on you, this was a good video. Do most people remove backgrounds from these type of images or their family photos? I want to be able to do this with my family pictures and it isn't the same as this!

then, if there are rough edges, click the eraser tool, just inverse the foreground and background color (which makes the white the foreground color, and the black the background color) then click on a fuzzy circle brush, viola! Fer-pect! :) LOL

lol..i tried this over and over and it would only erase my image instead of the background..idk??? so i fooled around with it and pressed add layer mask..and chose "selection" instead of the black transparency or white opacity and it just deleted it all right away without all that erasing..woo hoo ; )

Ok sorry that I didn't get back to you guys in a while here is the solution. Remember to find the person you want to cut out and BE POSITIVE the picture touches on the ends of the picture like how edward hits the bottom nd his legs don't show. Then you lasso around edward like imagining he's a mountain and you don't want to hit the mountain so go around it. If you need more help just send a message!

My video tells the truth! LOL. Ok so basically outline the stuff you don't want in the picture. So if you wanted to get rid of edward cullen you would outline him. BUT if you wanted to get rid of the background outline everything EXCEPT him OUTLINE around him. Then you want to do command+click on the background and press alpha channel. THEN press the eraser tool and erase the alpha channel which is the background. Message me back if you have any more issues! Sorry for the bad explaining!

You basically want to erase the stuff around it. The alpha channel is the background WHICH you want to erase. Alpha means number one priority SO the background will be the lead layer WHICH means that all the actions you perform will happen to that specific layer. So eraser will only happen to that layer and not edward cullen Which you want to keep on the picture
