I can hardly watch this. I remember seeing alot of pits that were chained that drowned from hurricane Katrina. They were all chained and padlocked!!! Christ! Poor dogs...I can just imagine how scared.. fleeing for their lives from an 18 feet of water coming towards them....I wanna kill those owners who left them to die!

A kennel is basically a jail cell! Is it not? If a dog is chained up properly he can run and jump and has about 200x more space to play than being locked up in a kennel. Kennels breed lazyness and insanity from boredom. Playing some sappy music and showing some underfed dogs, is just a bullshit way of steering people emotionally. Chains SEEM bad, but in actuallity allow the dog MORE FREEDOM than a kennel! THIS IS FACT!

I know a PUP thats like 3 that LIVES on a chain. BTW, Jesse's husband is allergic to dogs! And they never bring it in, only for like blizzard, and thunder, an lock her in a kennel she can hardly move. I feed her, I care for her, when i go there. BUT, there is a momma and like seven BABY kitties LIVING Outside too, they proabaly all died. we haven;t seen em. AND THREE OF THEM WERE NEWBORNS.

These pics of poor dogs have nothing to do with chains or cables. They are the result of neglectful assholes. Cable or chain runs are sometimes better than kennels as long as the owner actually pays attention to the dog.

Dogs being kept in a kennel is NO different than being on a PROPER chain set. Just because you do not believe in something does NOT mean it should be banned. I don't dispute that dogs were bred for "purposes," but that's completely beside the point. Because an animal has a purpose, that doesn't mean it shouldn't be treated with kindness. "Guardianship laws" are the worst thing that could ever happen to owning an animal. Guardianship laws will make BSL easier. Easier for you to lose your animals. Anyone who has half a brain is thankful animals are considered property. Yes all dogs were created for a specific purpose, read any breed history. Antiquated legal view of dogs as mere "property" will change -- has started to already. Dogs are sentient beings, not furniture or a car. They feel pain, get bored, anxious, scared. Chaining when done properly is a very effective means to confine a dog. When you own more than one animal aggressive dog they need to be confined. Chaining is more cost effective, and gives the dog more room. As long as the dog has daily human contact, and time off their chain, there is nothing wrong (legally or ethically) with that means of confinement.

Dogs are property, NOT part of the family. Dogs were created for specific purposes, be it fighting, hunting, herding, etc. Just because people do not keep their dogs in the house does NOT make them wrong. Majority of working dogs are much better cared for than your average pet.

The chain is NOT the issue, NEGLECT is. A dog on a 10' chain has more than double the space of a 10'x10' kennel. As long as the dog gets daily contact and exercise, the method of confining the dog is NOT the issue.

That is your opinion, which is fine. My opinion which is shared by many. When you have a large number of dogs, chaining is a very good method of confinement. Many breeds can NOT be near other animals. Not everyone has dogs as "Pets", many of us have dogs for a specific purpose.

There are few legitimate reasons to keep a dog if you can't treat it humanely. Chaining a dog by its neck 24/7, even if you pet it once a day and feed it regularly, is not humane.
