  • fucking traffic!!!

  • I checked my phone on my desk when I heard the tone... I have the same tone for a text message! MGS FTW!

  • @duy418 Yes, you american driver. 1st gear is just for start rolling the car, then you can shift into 2nd. If you are already rolling, you can shift directly into 2nd.

  • @crsbloo Sweet assumption, but check out his one video, he doesn't look too american to me, Americans may fuck up with a lot of shit but so does everyone else in this world. I think you just screwed up too assuming he is an American just for asking a simple question.

  • what did he do at 3:52-3:54? went traight from neutral to second?

  • My 2000 SPI Focus has WAY too much driveline backlash to be smooth at low speeds. It jerks like hell. Im always rubbing the clutch a touch and bouncing in and out of N. Its a workout.

  • How did it not stall when u took ur foot off the gas without pressing the clutch

  • I have absolutely no idea what you're supposed to be teaching here

  • If your going tu slow down du yu need tu push in the clutch?

  • @freshh98 if your going to go 5mph or less then yes

  • 5:05 YEAH BUDDY!! =D

  • first song is called hip hop saved my life

  • What was the song after Outlawz-real talk, it was at like 4:35?

  • Bet this guy was the only manual on the road that day.

  • @AVAKemicals haha, word bro

  • huh!!! nothing new, drive so slow "make the traffic even worst! it seems like a noobie is driving -____-

  • do you have to put in the clutch when you need to press the brake?

  • @SaKeDreezy not unless you're rpm drops down and you think you might stall soon

  • @phlythaiguy1 alright thanks

  • no he's listening to hip hop saved my life by nas

  • @adrianfromthe303 actually... it's by Lupe Fiasco.

  • I Luv you man you are a good instruction

    and best clips Like!

  • Were you listening to Nas - The Message ? or am I just hearing things...

  • gosh, my heart almost jump out when he change lane, it look so close to the car in the front

  • outlaw- real talk. 2nd song.

  • WTF thats dumb as hell, automatics are soo much simpler

  • @blazers6346 you dont fucking do anything with an automatic not shit its simpler.

  • so u always have to press the clutch wen braking

  • @MIKEtheBEST1231 only if you're gunna come to a complete stop. if you just slowing down you dont need to press the clutch. unless you need to downshift of course

  • @mreis221 oh thanks!

  • how the fuck is he in first with the clutch all the way out !!!

  • @mrkearns92 hes moving....

  • @ShadyFrey thanks

  • 7:34 "SNAKE! This is Otacon! Get to the metal gear!"

  • What was thing he did with his feet when downshifting? He would downshift and at the same time would tilt his foot off the brake and to the gas???

  • @mrmike11231 its called heel toe shift. its basically rev matching

  • do you always have to release the clutch when quickly shifting down gears, like can to hold it in and shift from eg. 4th to first when pulling up or is that fucked

  • @xonktrof1 i saw another video which was a tutorial, basically the guy put the car in neutral while slowing down until he stopped. Then he switched to 1st gear to start moving. i dont know how exactly it works in a scenario where someone cuts you off and u have to switch

  • @xonktrof1 Yes, you have to release the clutch because that's what engages the engine, when the clutch is all the way in it doesn't matter what gear it is, if its all the way in it is basically in neutral untill you release the clutch. So what i do is give a little brake and down shift because than you have more stopping force and you are not giving to much work for the brakes.

  • Please make a parking vid!

  • @ninjagirl625 yes break than clutch just before you're about to stop.

  • @eloelo511

if the car is in neutral. can you take your foot off the brake and clutch, and the car won't stall??(assuming you are not on a hill and in danger of rolling)

  • @halopwnmaster yes.

  • @eloelo511 ok thanks

  • @halopwnmaster Of course! You will never stall if the engine isn't engaged with the transmission.

  • @LastXdeth ok.

mind if i bug you with one more question?

what happens to the vehicle(i.e does it move forwards or backwards?)

if you are at a full stop and press down only the clutch in any of the 5 gears, and what about when it is in Neutral? I heard if you come to a full stop while in any gear thats not Reverse, and you have clutch held down but not brake, your car will move backwards(although this was outside US, so it might be different.)

  • @halopwnmaster When your car is not in motion and completely stopped and your clutched-in or in netraal, you let gravity take over because the engine is not engaged. Basically, you're car will be like a free-moving toy which means the slightest incline of the road can make your car roll foward or backward, depending if the slope of the road is going downward or upward.

This is why it is always safe to hold the brakes when your car is stopped.

  • @LastXdeth oh ok. that makes sense. thnks for the help

  • metal Gear Solid

  • what rpm do you like to shift at?

  • love the engine

  • Was the second camera on ur crotch

  • If you are stopped in traffic, do you not have to hold down both the clutch and brake?

  • @DarkLightOX If you think you're gonna be stopped for a good length of time you can put it in neutral and just hold down the brake or have your handbrake on. Just remember to put it back in first and take off the (hand)brake when you begin to move again.

  • Dude, awesome MGS ringtone! I had that one for a while.

  • driving manual in traffic sucks! you have to shift constantly

  • @fightinside1 that's why stick is not boring when driving it

  • @brahim121985brahim yeah... but try multitasking with a stick...

  • why do you never use the 2 gear to go back to the first ? You always go from the 3 gear to the 1

  • lol he doesnt know how to drive a manual in traffic he USED 1 GEAR .... congratz...

  • @1PoisonZone1 Well some cars have long first gears especially the more powerful ones, hence cooper s.Usually less powerful cars, like my 1 series 118d, tend to have much shorter first gears where you have to shift at like 2500 rpm (10mph).

  • On the phone whilst driving.. tut tut tut how unprofessional!! haha

  • On my jeep if you press the gas right after you let up on the clutch than it flies up in the rpms and if you slow down than it stalls... and if you push lightly on the gass when you lett your foot off the clutch than you stall there's no way to get out of first gear without flying into second what do you do

  • lol i have those exactly shoes!

  • cool thanks i was struggling with that part

  • O WOW THAT EXHAUST MUST MAKE YOU GO SOOOOO FASTTT O WAIT NO IT DOESNT DO SHIT FAGGOTT

  • @PetiteFeet69 it actually adds between 10-15 horse power if its tuned..FAGGOT.

  • @IisGoodLooking O COOL IS THAT FOR YOUR RACE CAR YOU DRIVE AROUND EVERYWERE!?

  • Comment removed

  • Can't do that in a car with smaller engine. You'll start jerking like you're having sex in the car..

  • @DementedButtHole Its a Mini Cooper...

  • @DementedButtHole

What do you mean when you say can't do that? Can't do what? Just trying to understand, i'm a new beginner just trying to get some sense lol.

  • @DementedButtHole you can... just gotta be real easy when coming back on the gas. I drive a outback with a 4 cylinder engine...

  • @DementedButtHole how small u mean, I believe this car is a mini :D

  • @DementedButtHole ummm this is 1.6l

  • In all honesty, I've felt like I could drive a car with a manual transmission since I saw the original Fast & Furious when it hit theaters years back. I watched that film about a dozen times that year, paul walker made it look pretty simple. I have yet to actually attempt driving a car with manual transmission in traffic, but i feel like i've been getting some great video training lol.

  • First of all you need to be in second if you're going to trail like that, not first idiot.

  • @akonvict Thats different in every car

  • @markjmarkjack so in what situations do you put the car in neutral

  • kien no sabe conducir un puto manual?

  • Who needs a video like this?? :s

  • Very useful video, I have to admit that I have check a lot of your video before starting to drive with a manual car, but now, I am very good, and its manual or no car for me!! Automatic is so boring!

  • Wait, you can keep the car in gear when you have stopped?

Wouldn't that damage the clutch, since you have to keep it pressed for quite a while?

  • @qpalzmqm yes its better to put in neutral when you stop

  • @qpalzmqm

yes you can :D and no it won't damage the clutch. when you press the clutch pedal, you actualy break the connection between the flywheel and the clutch disk... so the engine runs without making any contact with the clutch ;-)

  • @qpalzmqm only keep it in gear if you're stopping for a few second otherwise you should put it in neutral.

  • @ninjagirl625 In all other situations, such as downshifting or coming to a stop from higher speeds, brake first to slow down, and then use the clutch when needed.

  • @ninjagirl625 Your instructor is correct. The reason for clutching first is to avoid driving at speeds lower than what the gear is designed for. For example: If you're driving at 10mph in 2nd, you'd want to disengage the gear by clutching before you do any braking. If you start braking before clutching, you'd be asking the car to drive at less than 10mph whilst it's still in 2nd gear. It won't like this, and you may feel the car shake.

  • Awesome Mini Cooper! Excellent Video!

  • lol at metal gear solid ringtone and mom calling :)

  • SOMEONE PLEASE HELP ASAP When starting and going in reverse, I've passed the point of stalling but I get this jerk when I'm shift into either. Am I applying to much gas or am I releasing to fast on the clutch. Sometimes the RPM gets to 3000, I believe... And I let off the clutch relatively slowly

  • @ATLcameron Too much gas.

  • @markjmarkjack When shifting into first should I ride the clutch for a few seconds in moving in close stop and go traffic? Because if I don't, that's when it was choking for gas and I end up giving it too much. If I ride the clutch going into first for a few seconds at the "pull point" I can go real slow without it jerking or taking off.

  • @ATLcameron when driving you should not shift into 1st or the car will jerk. and the guy in this video is right you can realease the clutch half way and you wont stall.when stopping you press the cluch in (or you could shift into netural and just brake). when you start to go give it a little gas dont let the RPM get too high and ease off the clutch. riding the clutch could damage it. but its mostly just practice so practice. and remember 1st gear is just to get the car moving.

  • @ATLcameron Hey there. Tips for you. 1)Start car and release clutch VERY slowly, NO GAS!. Pay attention at what point car starts to move. Do this a few times until you become fimilar with how far you can release until car "moves". If you release too far you'll stall which is ok b/c you are getting familar with your clutch release. 2) once you know how far you can relase clutch, start to give some gas (rev b/w 1500 and 2000 rpms and release clutch).rev too high and you start to burn clutch.

  • thanks a lot for all the videos and... very nice car (Mini Cooper S).

  • nice pumas ;]

  • Do americans find driving manual really difficult? Here in the uk probably 80% of the cars on the road are manual and if you only know how to drive an automatic then you're considered to be an inferior driver.

  • @bertanderny actually we do because we are fat lazy bastards who can't do shit. (no I'm not being sarcastic). I hate automatics. but 95% of my classmates would say "manual car?? wtf is that??"

  • @ 7:45 did you just say you're in Staten Island?!

  • I would advice you to only use first gear when you are doing the first acceleration then immediately switch up to second gear. This way you safe huge amount of your cars motor and gas. It is also much more confortable to roll with 2nd gear than the 1st gear. In my oppinion if you cant drive manual buy a car which has automatic transmition.

  • i hear Outlawz - Real Talk

  • good job man, i am having so much difficulty learning to drive manual and this helped me a lot.

  • haha pinoy talaga magaling mag manual transmission. :))

  • Nice heel and toeing :)

  • I hate automatic. I found Manual alot cooler and it gives you more control on the car. I drove in Mercedes E class, not very oldish one, it had automatic one. It drove slow unlike the one i drove in with manual one.

  • who wouldnt be able to drive a manual car in traffic im confused lol?

  • Who cares that you are a Filipino man?

  • Classic: bloopers at the end :P

  • @PowerstrokeForever Should not be the case in America. They're already obselete to today's automatics.

  • wtf is he listning to

  • I don't know how to drive manually for me when I will learn to manually with my friend's car. Hope for me!!!

  • Hip-hop's saved my life. Haha gotta love that song :)

  • 5:14 pro pro pro

  • he used to drive nice sports cars, but then he took an arrow in the knee

  • Dreaming by Scribe, great song for traffic

  • there's a snowflake button

  • It's not that technical you fucking know it all!

  • Bro, you are so good. You should be an F1 or rally car driver.

  • my dad took me and all my brothers out at the age of 12 to teach us the basic stuff on stick

he would take us out on a large empty of cars parking lot and let us roam he only did it because he knew we would obey his commands. my brother fucked up once and got beaten lol

stick has to become a instinct

  • his ringtone, from metal gear solid !!! SNAKE

  • Its weird when i shift on the tractor i keep the gas down so it shifts smoother Can u do that with a car

  • @Trebuer22 actually you can, but usually you don't keep the gas down, you let go of the gas, and then press slightly on the gas and let go of the clutch. It actually is smoother. I'm a beginner in stick so i kinda noticed that you can do that.

  • is he wearing puma cleats

  • thx bro

  • @DerbiXtremeSM its called heel toe. check it out on google or youtube LOL. its basically rev matching to downshift smoother.

  • Wtf are you doing when you're downshifting at 5:15 to 5:20 ??

  • He makes it seem like driving a manual car should earn you some kind of fucking prize for being so damn good...

  • @SthlmHenrik wait i dont get a prize?? i thought i would win a new car....

  • @s0ggyrice Yup, a cheaper new car ;)

  • @s0ggyrice yea you need a new car bro, you drive a mini (just so you're not like wtf do you drive, i drive a 350z, just looking for something to teach my gf)

  • @s0ggyrice lol, that was funny. can i ask what song was playing at 2:04 please

  • @SthlmHenrik your 3rd nut finally grows in..

  • lupe fiasco bro!

  • Wheres the honda?

  • when you change gear do you have to let go of the gas?

  • @KidFrom106 only if you watch to rev the hell out of your car and burn your clutch :P

  • I have a question do you have to press down on the clutch to go from accelarting to the brakes?Thank you.

  • @TheJokerHahahahahaha it depends,if you are trying to stop the car then you should, otherwise the engine will stall, if you are just trying to slow the car down a bit then you can just release the gas. but if you are breaking and the speed doesn't match the gear you're in, you should shift down

  • @RidX4Ricers dude, i'm from europe so fuck yeah i drive manual and no fucking idiot can say that automatic transmission is better! it SUCKS..you control all of the engines power, like that feeling when you overtake , and you take it from 5th to 4th gear 5000 rpm + engine roarsssss FUCK,,i'm horny right now xD gonna go drive my car, see ya :D

  • @themakeuplover93 he has a racing clutch and gear box lol thats why

  • @Bearsarefurry Lol welllll he should make vids with a normal car thenn. since were not all gonna drive with racings clutch & gear boxes on our car. lolol

  • @RidX4Ricers you ever driven in l.a.? its not that its hard, its frustrating. and sometimes when you get stuck in traffic in a freeway, you have to come to a complete stop, then move again going just 5 mph then stop. if you do this for 45 min (yeah ive been stuck that long), your shifting leg might start to cramp and if it does, your screwed.

  • @RidX4Ricers I've never understood why people come and showoff that they ca drive stick, you were a beginner too so shut the fuck up

  • Ok I'm going to get a manual car, and I was wondering. Do you have to press the clutch, and the brake when you stop?

  • @iXiSWiiFTiXi Not necessarily because you can brake with the clutch out. Either way is fine in my book.

  • @iXiSWiiFTiXi you dont have to push the brake. only if your on a hill so you dont roll back

  • @iXiSWiiFTiXi The clutch has to be pushed in when you come to a complete stop. any other time is ok to brake without pushing it in.

  • @iXiSWiiFTiXi only if your coming down to a very slow pace, if your in gear and need to stop the car you have to push the clutch all the way down as you are about to stop otherwise the car will stall, when the stick is in neutral however it isnt nessecary as you wont stall the car

  • switch to 2nd gear and let go of the clutch, the car will start moving by itself as if in "DRIVE "position in an automatic. Can let go off the gas also. only break and when almost stand still then use clutch.

  • uphill driving w/ traffic sana.. punta ka baguio.. bumper to bumper..

  • stop riding ur first gear!! u can switch to 2nd.... -___-

  • @Juju23King the purpose of the video is to show how to drive the standard in traffic with minimum clutching! he did not change the gears because that would of be a pain in the ass in such traffic

  • @RidX4Ricers I drive a manual everyday, wether it is in traffic or on an open road, it's easy. Pushing the clutch in traffic jams is exhausting at times, but you can let it roll out in neutral as well.

  • @JzAeroo Exactly, I never sit there holding my clutch in, I press it for a sec and go into neutral until traffic starts moving again, then I put it in first and start driving until I get a little speed up and then go back into neutral and just let it roll until traffic either stops or if it clears up I'll go back into gear and drive as normal from there.

  • that scribe track is beast

  • this guy has the best how to videos for manual transmission .. u can pretty much just watch and learn if you have any common sense..

  • Leave a bigger gap then you can ease up on the accelerator when the brack lights come on and hopefully you wont have to stop, making for less stress constantly changing gear.

  • scribeeee

  • Is that a clock?

  • @Rolls7Royce speedometer
