  • So powerful and moving! Where can this version of this song be found? I have a less acoustic version of the album "Cuts to the chase"

  • still apropos today... the world is not what it's meant to be

  • @tdb...Thankyou, nice work...Negative Power is Dangerous...Positive Power of The People is envigorating!!!!!!!...

  • This song says it all.I want to know who these men pulling the strings are myself although I doubt I ever will at my level.I don't care if some one offered me all the money on earth.I could not create the kind of death, confusion, misery and hell on earth these people do to humanity.I would not want to be in there shoes on judgment day. Thanks for this video.Peace

  • @USAdude30 Do a search for 'Pilgrims Society'.

They go to some considerale effort to keep the membership list secret. I assure you that they are not little old ladies discussing how their ancestors crossed the Atlantic on the Mayflower.

Pilgrims own all but four of the central banks of the world and therefore control the international banking cartel that finances all sides of just about every war in progress now.

Their most recent conquest was over the State Bank of Libya.

  • @USAdude30 Thanks to some good people and the internet it isn't so hard to find out who these people are. Look up Eustace Mullins on youtube and john Coleman. Also check out william cooper and go to Amazon and check out Diary of an Economic Hitman by Guy Anthony Perkins.

  • the more CHANGE the more they stay the same.

  • The only power these people have is the power we give them. By CHOOSING to work for them, buying their products and services, fighting their wars. We are all part of this 'thing' to some extent and the blood is on all of our hands. We must take individual responsibility and examine how our lifestyle feeds the machine.

    Peace.

  • It grieves me to know that this song still applies to the world condition today. When are we going to learn. It is not the idea that dies in a war, it is the young men and women, sons and daughters, fathers and mothers, babies. I am sure that war is for monetary profit and benefits only a few.

  • great song, and I love the video. does anybody know the author of the quote at 2:18 --"cold hearts small minds and lost souls are the most dangerous weapons of mass destruction" ?

  • "These goverments killing their own"

"Where a government lies to its people"

All true comments. The more people learn, the better our country becomes. You might think i'm crazy, but i'm pretty sure i'm not.

  • I like the fact that this song was made so long ago and still applies today. Let's fight to ensure that it does not happen in the future!

  • Be assured that I'm with u here. But I'm dismayed that this great song still applies. And fighting will be the excuse for extermination. A leap of awareness, an internal struggle for clarity, a hard look at how we play into the system; what's called mongoose tactics - becoming human enough to out play the reptile who lives at the base of our brain and makes these realities of brutality. No one's hands are completely clean and the soap they sell us doesn't work. Yeah, I love this song, too, man.

  • @030151 Please post the Britney Spears version of this sung to her Goldfish Gerald. It is also deeply moving.

  • @rintintin7529 HEY MAN DONT BOGART THAT JOINT ! PASS SOME OF THAT SHIT YOUR DUMBASS IS DOING AROUND SO WE CAN ALL BE THAT STUPID !

  • The real " Axis of Evil" : Bush 43/Cheney/Rumsfeld

  • Those smug faces of the ones in power. I wonder if they'll see this video. It's incredibly revealing.

I first heard Richie Havens' version of "Lives in the Balance" when I was fifteen (1995), the original when I was six. It's even more true today than it was either of those times.

  • Great job by both Jackson Browne in the writing and Richie Havens in his interpretation......... and a message that needs to be said again and again until we finally get it.

  • Some credit ought be paid Jackson Browne for writing this song...

  • Too true. Jackson Browne did a wonderful job creating a song environment that captures the ongoing struggle. The human struggle.

  • Amazing video, guitar and lyrics, poignant and sadly, still as true as when the song was written. Word we need to continue to hear.

  • @thedancingbuddha : Good Job.

  • Simple yet powerful.Great stuff.

  • Had to watch this one again, LOVE IT!!

  • That was nice. Great pics. There was one Hitler Youth girl wearing a flowery dress that looked out of place; she should be shot...just my opinion.

  • Ya, In know but the White Out just kept sticking to the monitor, so the flower dress will have to stay :^)

  • I'm sure that I am speaking for Hitler when I say, at least it was White Out. Maybe not though. Being racist can be so confusing at times. Oh well, you can't be good at everything.

  • All his teachers said he had a problem getting along with others and he didn't like to share his toys. But his racist point of view i think is due to a chemical inbalance in his brain. Sort of like being bi-polar or a Republican :^)

  • Hey , you commented 3 times, pal.

  • Blood is thicker than oil. But there is no life without water. "napalm son! napalm! I love the smell of napalm in the morning. It smells like...Victory" (almost verbatum), Apocalypse Now. NAZI General Schroner does look similar to Rumsfeld. Then there is George W Blush's grandfather. "And so it goes. Goes round again. But sometimes then we wonder who the real men are." Does anyone remember who sung that song? Awesome video BTW 5* Blessings +++ The Saint +++
