I actually wouldnt reccomend beverages and dry ice people I learned that the hard way. And it is excruciatingly painful... Dry ice is heavier than water, yes. But when the ice gets small enough, it floats to the top of your drink. I accidentally swallowed a chunk the size of half a dime, and it took 35 seconds for it to dissapear inside my gut. It burned my stomach for half a minute...

Yes, it would be completely safe to drink. Dry ice is just a solid form of CO2. In fact, we add CO2 under high pressure in order to carbonate drinks such as soda. The best part is that since CO2 doesn't really "melt", and instead sublimates directly from a solid into a gas, it can chill a beverage without ever watering it down.

there's no reaction between the water and the CO2. the CO2 merely to a gas and thus causes pressure to build up in the bottle until it ruptures. the water is only there to provide heat energy to speed up the sublimation.

it was the pressure of the gas forming. Also no chemical reaction is happening, only sublimination. The frozen CO2 is only turning into air and expanding the bottle until the bottle explodes.

indeed it does; because the ice is in a closed container (bottle), the dry ice vapor will increase its volume drastically as it is accelerated by the pool water, thereby increasing the pressure of the gas. This will make the bottle explode, as it cannot hold that much gas against its walls.
