Is this guy serious. maybe your jealous because they have a good job. You seem like a stuck up ass. Im a professional landscaper so am i a bad person because i use all gas powered equiptment. and my big bad diesel truck is killing everyone. geez you are an idiot. move somewhere. somepeople dont have time to cut there own grass so i do it. you suck
@twankedls Don't be a moron. Anyone who works in a job that pisses people off/pollutes could get defensive. I have to deal with leafblower noise on a daily basis, and since every bldg or house has landscaping come at a different time, it's constant. An outboard motor powering the worst noise known to man for grass clippings is not justified. Anyone who works from home (or is studying) has to rush to close windows and pop in headphones in their own places (and you can still hear it)!
What do you mean regarding illegals when you said it's an issue you're "not supposed to talk about"? Is someone threatening your first Amendment rights? If so, that is BS. I'm sick and tired of people trying to shut us up when we speak out against the illegal alien issue. I am thinking about making a website devoted to fighting illegal aliens on Long Island - specifically Long Island - and if anyone tries to stop me, they're going to be sorry. I don't care.
I hire landscapers (not illegals) because they're professionals and make my yard look much better than I ever could. I know the guy who owns the business. He went to college to learn how to do this stuff and now he gets to do it for a living. He's a really nice guy and is grateful for my patronage in these tough times. I'm putting food on his family's table. What's wrong with that? Do you want him to go out of business?
It still doesn't change the fact the blowers landscapers use put alot of extra needless pollution in the air. Well, maybe yours use rakes, but most landscapers I've seen have them wearing loud polluting blower backpacks, if there's a rake on the truck its often just a "decoration".
No my landscapers don't use leafblowers. They use rakes. Like I said, they're professionals. Maybe you're too hasty in damning all landscapers. Sure there are a lot of hacks, but there are also a lot of good ones like mine. You may want to rethink your blanket admonission.
I agree that leafblowers contribute to noise and air pollution. But not all landscapers use them. Mine pride themselves on being environmentally friendly. They love the earth, that's why they became landscapers.
Most of the people who can afford to hire landscapers do so because they are workaholics and work all the time and make a lot of money. Since they work all the time they don't have the time to do it and they have the money as well.
You don't see a recession?? You've got to be kidding. You're lucky to still have a job. I know a lot of people are being laid off. Look at the auto workers, people who work for DHL, .... A lot of people have lost jobs.
Long Island isn't getting hit that hard compared to the rest of the country. Not yet anyway. I remember back in the 80s when there was a recession alot of folks started driving compact cars, that is not happening now as I see as many large luxury SUV's as ever.
I sent you a video response. I'm with you, man.

Surely there cant be any harm in using Electricity-Powered Leaf blowers.

Unfortunately most landscapers use loud and polluting gas powered ones.

I agree, people should do it themselves.
My uncle and I rake every fall, but he likes to use his leaf blower to get the job done faster.. I should warn him about that.
