  • the monarchy set a standard. i like them. and if what some people are saying about how the monarchy pay back more in taxes that they receive, then im all for them even more. they're very interesting, and im not even english.

  • I really can't tolerate these morons who bash the royal family, they spend almost every day promoting good causes etc and cost us just 60 odd pence per year! when was the last time you cared about 60p or the last time you gave up your precious time to do something for a good cause?! thats not to mention the £7 or so BILLION they generate in tourism every year. Find something thats actually a problem to moan about and leave the royals alone ey.

  • The monarchy pays 6times more back in their own taxes than they get from taxes from citizens, so we are actually making a profit...

  • the shepherd also works to keep his sheep together, whats so gracious about that its only selfinterest.

  • The royal family works to bring our society together.....its obvious!

  • How I love Prince Charles. He is still the most handsome and debonair man alive

and I would give anything to meet him

  • However I just love the dress the countess of wessex is wearing, yet I digress

  • Its funny how none of the comments are about the documentary which is about Princess Anne

  • did anyone notice the guy banging his head at 9.26???? HAHA

  • Transatlantic slave trade? Slavery in Britain was abolished well before the 1820s in Britain, and the first member of the House of Windsor was Queen Victoria who was more German than anything. It's really impossible to see how his argument really stands up to the facts. Secondly, none of the European monarchies truly held on to slavery in the 19th century save for Portugal and Spain. The most avid slave dealing nations were all democracies; Holland, the U.S. and Brazil.

  • @theone1087 I think he was commenting more on how ignorant and unappreciative we was as a young man, rather than on any validity those old beliefs had.

  • It's disgusting to see the troglodyte masses denigrate a monarchy that unites a nation without party conflict. They complain of pomp and privilege of birth, yet this same brainless MTV 'cultured' mob will worship the Kardashians, the Hiltons and a Philandering drunken Kennedy clan. However no one complains and says, 'What do the Kardashians offer to society that is of so much value that they make so much money'? Princes Harry and William are both serving in the military, try and do the same!

  • @theone1087 Thank f**k sommeone else who speaks some bloody sense! here here lol

  • I Thought Edwards twas a poof, Guess he's a married Poof now!

  • The tourism the royal family attracts from around the world surely outweighs the cost of the monarchy, not to mention the funds they raise for countless charities. The world is fascinated by them and they deserve respect & gratitude for their commitment.

  • @ik7981 Seig heil? I take it you think of yourself as some kind of Nazi? You say that the people kiss the royal asses when you yourself probably masturbate to a picture of your long dead fuhrer. Thats why about 97% of the world agrees that Nazi's from America are simple minded rednecks.

Our royals help end apartheids and do charity work, whilst you fuhrer had one bollock, was officially mental and killed himself. I know other cultures must be scary for you... Liberate your mind.

  • 9:13 love the guy getting into it!

  • guy at 9:14 is my hero

  • I agree to @ik7981 death too the elite rise of the people!

  • Think about what good the Royals do and then look at the Kennedys, Hiltons and Kardashidans...I think the Royals are well worth keeping. They should abolish the Hiltons and Kardashidans

  • Very sad the Jamaican Liverpudlian had to pay the sterotype right at the end. The slave trade and all that. Really annoying.

  • Noticed the dude 9:14 who was bobbing his head around. That was funny

  • everybody acts so phoney around royalty... it's pathetic.

  • @stringdemon :Like to see you in their presence.

  • Once when the Queen came to visit my city in Canada, there was a radio contest called "High Five the Queen and Win Some Green". Needless to say, when a random dude approached her and explained his situation, she was a good sport about it and the guy won the money!! Always made me have a positive look on her and her sense of humour. I mean, how many Kings and Queens before her would have high fived a random commoner?

  • I'm Australian - I enjoy the royal standard and the monarchy and if I lived in the UK I would be happy to pay the 62 pounds.

  • @bfg9000zx 62pence

  • @neddonovan woops my bad

  • @bfg9000zx 62 pence per year, the cost of a bar of chocolate really, per year.

  • @3dwurli wow is that all ... thats nothing!

  • @bfg9000zx Well Id much rather old Lizzie got the 62p a year than some junkie or alcoholic.

  • It is so funny to me to see the ridiculous "royal" expressions on their faces as they walk around in public among all the "common" people. I cannot believe how any country in this world still supports this nonsense.

  • Hmm, Prince Edward comes across as a germophobe or something. No hand shaking allowed!

  • @shmoker2010 he is rumoured to be gay

  • The random person in 9:14 is probably the funniest part of the whole clip lmbo

  • Princess Anne looks identical to the Queen, her personality as well; that's fantastic. I would love to see her as the next Queen but unfortunately I know this can't happen, :(.

  • People are so ignorant about the Royal Family and what they bring to the UK. They cost to fly places, guess what? They cost less than the president of the US by almost FOUR TIMES. They make £40 million a year! Orly? And the £120 million handed over to the government by the keeper of the privvy purse doesn't count? Thats not including the tens / hundreds of millions brought in from tourism... who wants to come to england to see Cameron? Cameron on coins! Yes, sounds AMAZING

  • @mildcorma The President of the United States waste more money than the Royal Family. Americans are taxed from left to right so the Diplomats in the white house can sleep during sessions and the president can fly his 747 across the country. Do we really care no. We pay because its part of being patriotic. We cant hate the system that protects us. We dont want our president walking or using a shitty airplane to meet other leaders. He represents the people of the United States.

  • @mildcorma As the Queen and the Royal Family represents the UK. If the UK didn't have a Royal Family trust me the tourism would be on the floor and its citizens would be poorer. Same thing applies to Vatican City if we destroyed the catholic church and abolished the pope. Vatican city would be as interesting as Venezuela. who the fuck wants to go to venezuela or alaska?no one.

  • On most of the royal family videos if you say something against them, then the comment is not approved, so it is full of comments saying pro royal family stuff.

So we get a nice rounded fair picture of the peoples views of the royal family NOT:)

Bet they only approve 1 in a hundred, that is why there are so few comments in relation to the number of views..

    Anyway..... down with the bastards

  • I love Princess Anne.

  • @Dotsonascreen6 Don't expect that to change anytime soon

  • the only British royalty I'm aware of is David Bowie.

  • why do people want a repuplic like america. The royal family does hardly anything for the government so why do people want to get rid of them when it isn't there fault if are government is rubbish and if we are in debt.

    god save the queen

  • @Riotboyful We want rid because they drain us of money. It costs about £30 or £40 million a year to keep the royal family.

The fact that they don't do anything is precisely the point; having a monarchy is meaningless and a waste of money.

  • @000000poizen000000 Tell that to the Queens face ... she'll just send you to the tower.

  • @000000poizen000000

you say they cost £30 or £40 million a year. yes but they only cost about £1 for every british tax payer. its not as if they are asking you to send them half your wage. you pay more for your bloody TV licence. they bring hundreds of millions in every year through tourism and trade. they dont do anything? well apart from bring in millions in trade nd tourism they also do things for many charities. alot more than what you probably do. unless you are patron of 200 charities???

  • @Riotboyful They do aid the government, in that they take ceremonial, social and public pressure off elected officials that have important jobs to do. This is THE most, and arguably the only important function of the Monarchy. When the Obamas were having a very much publicized tea with the Queen a while back, their entire day was devoted to that photo op while the Prime Minister was at his office, getting shit done. It is extremely helpful to have these representatives in this media age.

  • @futeki16 The average citizen has not had the education that they have. The average citizen also is not subject to thorough and constant moral scrutiny that they are. The are expected to personify all the strengths of the british people while displaying none of their flaws. Only a royal upbringing would prepare a person for this daunting job, from which there is no retirement. So, yes in my eyes they are far better than your average citizen.

  • i get the feeling, though i might be wrong, that those brits that don't want a monarchy any longer believe that the uk's problems will be gone by removing something that at least from another country seems quite positive for that society as a whole.

i think there is more a bit of envy in all this, but again, i might be wrong...

  • I think the purpose of this footage was to show what purpose the royal family serve, as there are a great deal of people (such as myself ) who wonder......I'm still wondering.

  • Speaking as an American, I feel the British people are very fortunate to have their monarchy. You don't have to go through the circus that happens here every 4 years of having to elect a president, in which as soon as a new president is elected, the next campaign begins! To say nothing of having to listen to all the politicians running nasty campaign adds bad mouthing one another. I am so fed up with the nastiness and egotistical politicians in this country.

  • @dudette216 Yes, our presidential elections ARE a circus, but I think the average American citizen enjoys them, especially at this day in age when we have technology that allows us to virtually follow them 24/7 and "re-live" some of the quirky moments as if they only happened yesterday.

I think you're forgetting the fact that the UK has a prime minister who is elected. Do you think those elections are calm and amiable? Certainly not! Look t how many of them have resigned their office!

  • @dudette216 You realise the Monarchy has no political power at all? They are a constitiutional Monarchy and a living link to 1000 years of British history. The British have elected a parliment since 1265, the British elect a Prime minister every 5 years, this comes with all the campaigning and party rivalries expected of a robust Democratic process, perhaps not to the dizzying extent of the US electoral campaigns. None the less as an Australian I am very proud to have a Queen & Roya family

  • the royal family rob the rich and poor alike , and hangers on like fergie saying she hasnt got a pot to piss in , not to mention her toe sucking antics and the greedy queens countless homes , all paid for by the hard pressed people of this country , most of whom i believe do not support this greedy rabble in the first place.

it is time for all the royal family to go , they will not last another 20 years and good riddance.

they are an obscene disgrace to this nation.

  • @hammys123 the Royal family will be around for far longer then the next two decades, the public dislike and British republican movement are smaller now then ever in Britians lengthy and interesting political history. Over 70% of Britons want to keep the Monarchy. You sound like a Communist, if you hate the Monarchy so much move to America or China lol

  • Why do people complain about having a monarchy? First, the monarchy generally generates more in tourism revenue than it actually costs. Second, the cost of a monarchy isn't any higher or lower than the cost of a republic. Do people honestly believe that they're going to save costs by having a President or Prime Minister? Third, the monarchy provides a sense of stability within the nation by having a head of state that doesn't change every 4-8 years. The positives can go on forever.

  • @rtgoodson No but at least would would get out of the dark ages and start living in a democracy.

People to not visit to see the royal family, tourism is bullshit, France is the most visited country in the world and it executed its royal family long ago.

  • @26highstreet You really think you'd live in a better democracy with a Republic? Completly rubbish. I lived in Spain for about a year, and I'm living in Portugal now - so I can compare a Monarchy to a Republic. And honestly, I'd prefer to have a Constitutional Monarchy in my country - it would certainly contribute far better to its democracy than the idiotic President/ Republic we currently have.

  • God save our noble Queen and Royal family !

  • I've got the impression Brits ARE so British, that even those that don't like monarchy, still accept it! And if Britain, that is, England ever becomes a commonwealth again, surely Princess Anne would be the first president!

So all's well, that ends well when much ado about nothing is over, i'n it?

  • You can tell Charles was well trained by his father lol!

  • Due to camillas highly promiscuous history (syphilis at 16 free with sexual favours etc) together with the fact her family are middle class and of no consequence. camillas mother was from a family of whores too and her father was only a Major in the British army. In 1977 camilla WAS CONSIDERED BY THE QUEEN AS TOTALLY UNSUITABLE. In contrast Princess Diana was a VIRGIN when she married and her father was an Earl together with being from one of the finest wealthiest English aristocratic families!

  • @royalukfacts Jesus...are you STILL going on?!?! You were posting rubbish 6 months ago, saying exactly the same thing. Give it a rest, go outside. Anything!

  • The REPULSIVE VULGAR PROSTITUTE CAMILLA IS LIKE A CANCER that needs eradication perhaps a nasty fatal accident? This ghastly vile toxic common whore camilla has almost destroyed the monarchy with depraved repulsive actions and manipulation of charles WHO HAS VISIBLY DEMONSTRATED OVER RECENT YEARS HE HAS MENTAL HEALTH PROBLEMS. Clearly only William as Princess Dianas son is suitable to continue. Fortunately the Queen will probably now live far longer than her mother shows no signs of retirement!

  • @2112murphy I'd rather have them, it is the Queen's job to keep the politicians in line. This is usually behind the scenes in the UK, our last prime minister called an election at a very bad time for his party straight after a meeting with the queen about corruption to do with expenses. She sacked the Australian government in the 70's for corruption very publicly. I'd say it's worth it.

  • lol at the guy dancing in the background at 9:27

  • @walifred Lmao I was just about to point that out :P

  • @2112murphy The monarchy are the monarchs and when canada left the UK they had the choice to completely leave but they wanted to keep it. They do not make any desicions so any crappy desicions that have been made were made by the shit politicians in canada.

  • And that bloody republican wining on about The royals being quaint and going on about culture. Why do tourists come to Britain . Old converted mills, the houses of parliament. I think not.being bald has obviousley has affected his brain not that he has one

  • I can't thinck why people moan about paying 62 p or whatever once a year when something like a bottle of water can cost many a pound and lasts maybe minuets, mad.

  • I think they do a wonderful job.

  • If inheriting the Throne were based on merit (not birth order), it would go hands down to Princess Anne. Prince Charles doesn't strike me as very bright and Prince Edward is too unsure of himself.

  • @xander7ful You left out the hot one. King Andrew has a nice ring to it.

  • queen my mother is the only queen i no i she is my only queen fuck the rest

  • al pimp smack her royal shit my ass i am a king there is no other ever one is a king in there own right

  • 9:14 - Disco Stu doing his stuff in the back there.

  • The Royal Family and all of the "quaint culture" that one man railed against probably bring more tourists and their money to the UK than more modern culture which can be found much closer to home for Americans.

  • it surprises me how many anti-royal people are watching this video and making retarded comments. if you have such a problem with the monarchy, why are you watching this? why aren't you watching Britain's Got Talent or some other bullshit?

  • how rude of Prince edward not to shake hands with kids. How hollow of him to say that he cares for children causes when he doesnt even shake his hands with them.

  • But children always have sticky "jam hands". :)

  • @tittleiota He said he didn't support childrens causes because they are emotive enough.

  • @tittleiota what a stupid comment. Many adults ( myself included) would not think

of shaking childrens hands. How Silly

  • @sarabower1 Before calling out anyone silly, consider the norms and mores of politeness. Shaking hands with anyone offering it is part of manners, regardless of their age. But your comment goes to show, some people don't have them all.

  • @tittleiota I know more about manners and class than you and everyone you know

    you daft pig.

Keep talking like that and I will sew a tarantula up your yip

  • i am not british; but i ask this question to all the British ppl. " what is the point ? why do u maintain these people ? what do they contirbute ?"

Now, I live and work in Australia and a portion of my income goes to pamper these people..... i just dont get the point... i really dont. i feel disgusted that Elezabeth is also the queen of Australia... and though i respect her as a person i simply HATE to pay my hard earn money (how ever small that is) for feeding these people.

  • I will have you know that you are poorly misinformed. None of your pay or taxes go to support the Royal Family. All the funds that come from the maintenance of the family, Palaces, trips etc all come from the British Civil List. Predominantly made up of funds that some from the levy charged on touring royal grounds, produce from royal estates and any natural gas reserves found 25 miles off the cost of the U.K. so in sum you pay nothing at all and your argument is quashed.

  • @samihasib Tough shit !!!!!!

  • Everybody knows this disgusting cancerous old whore camilla was putting it about for years and clearly not too particular how many men or who with! She is a repulsively vile poisonous parasitic ugly old slut riddled with Syphilis and looks more like a man in cheap drag everyday - have you seen those big man hands! Hopefully the Queen will live at least as long as her mother and we will not have this filthy repulsive white trash camilla and the parasite tampax charles around for much longer!

  • British English is Wicked!

  • I'll take these royals over the Britney Spears, Jennifer Lopez, Brangelina riff raff we have over here.

  • i got a job dickhead

  • Wow I can't understand anyone talking except the host! Sheesh I think I need a Rosetta Stone for British English...

  • Actually it is called a Mobile Phone

Because it is mobile and it is a Phone

  • "There's just no knack to plaques" lol!

  • Love the guy in the back @ 9:14-

  • An interesting fact about Harry's African charity. When the two brothers went on that well publicised bike ride, they made around £2000 each, but what the royal PR machine fails to tell us, is that the estimated cost of security was.... £40,000!

  • @Boccherini64 where did you get this figure from? that seems to high to be true. the royal familt takes around 50p per year off UK citizens - this would be spent on seurity regardless so £4000 went to that charity that otherwise wouldnt have. but where did you get the figures from?

  • @Boccherini64 Do you think that cost would be reduced if you had a president? I'm an American and can tell you that the cost of security for our President (and living former presidents: Carter, both Bushes, and Clinton) would amount to roughly the same thing.

Don't you guys pay for the Prime Minister's security? Surely he doesn't pay that out of his own pocket?! Maybe I'm jus on the outside looking in, but I really don't understand how having a president would be any cheaper.

  • @Boccherini64 And the awareness to the charity is priceless.

  • royal raver at 9:14 hahahaha

  • It seems like the royals themselves are annoyed with all the stupid engagements they go to

  • espcially after all those parties and dinners, helicopter flights etc. i too would be wacked out, if i had a helicopter to take me to lunch, followed by a limo ride to cut a ribbon somewhere and to top it all off tea at the ritz. how does she manage it

  • why are their princess old?

  • lazy monarchy

  • hahah true!

  • and you've just really brought down your argument

  • im male?

  • the royal fmaily are BONE IDLE

  • In 1917 George V declared that the family would be known in future as Windsor and not as Battenburg. This was to conceal the true German identity of the royal family. To this day 68.6% of England is still owned by 0.63% of the population, mostly royals and their cohorts also known as the aristocracy. Bow down to your German masters little Englanders

  • help me 2 understand the jobs they do did the have a prime minister and cabinet minsiters responsable for these jobs they do because if they are doin these jobs y have a government party in the country or elections

  • how can someone live in this fake world of monarchy...i am 100% sure that if you put these 'royals' in competiton with common people like you and me, they will loose out

  • Royalist propaganda the royalist biased on our TV channels makes me sick!

  • oh but you do

  • In 1917 George V declared that the family would be known in future as Windsor and not as Battenburg. This was to conceal the true German identity of the royal family. To this day 68.6% of England is still owned by 0.63% of the population, mostly royals and their cohorts also known as the aristocracy. Bow down to your German masters little Englanders

  • Battenburg lol

  • Actually your estimation on land ownership is pretty good. The name change is also correct, it was changed to counter anti monarchist feeling in WW1 because the Kaiser and King were close cousins, which could have led to the abolition of the monarchy. These monarchists hate facts.
