  • Martha Argerich & Nelson Freire!

  • why is solti conducting some parts? is it because of evelyn?

  • A great work! The second movement is played with a lot of intelligence, atmosphere and commitment, and the third movement is given with refined energy and bite. Maybe the balance engineers could have done a better job because Perahia's glissandos in the second movement are barely audible and, generally, I feel the percussion could be a bit more prominent. Has this performance appeared on your channel before?

  • yes,but without second movement because of copyrights and not in HD! -

..i agree,a marvellous interpretation of the bartók sonata, great fortitude of all protagonists under the impressive leadership of Georg Solti who plays the piano quite well [for a conductor].poor Evelyn Glennie doesnt look awfully happy ;))
