no. you can aim some splashes to cross up a downed opponent so they aren't easily blockable. thats why his wakeup game is so crazy.

as an el fuerte player, i can say that defense against fuerte is not unlike his attacks, they're just guessing games

after a knockdown fuerte can either do a splash (front or crossup), airgrab, slide, or bait you with a run-stop, so its really all just a matter of guessing which one he'll try

if your char has a teleport that works to escape, and sometimes a well timed dp will trade or stuff it, but yeah, it can be pretty fucking annoying

I was rooting for El Fuerte the entire time, I loled when Guile was getting splashdowned. But I'm starting to realize Guile might have priority problems.

Actually most of his moves have some of the best priority in the game...it's just that his flash kick and ultras can overshoot.

Guile is a difficult character to play and an even harder one to master. Just because he only has two specials doesn't make him simple....

No, he actually is pretty simple. He's not difficult to play, he's just extremely limited in his options. It's why he's one of the weakest characters in the game. Ignoring Sagat the game is extremely balanced though so it's not a huge deal.
