it's a protocol called ReWire, it allows Reason to connect to most DAW's including FLStudio, Cubase, ableton, sonar, i think even logic and pro tools. in FL's case, I think I remember on installation it has a few boxes to check and it asks you if you'd like to incorporate Rewire into it.

i could be wrong, but hope this helps!
