@trixwiz7 My point is that for the entirety of NI's existence a majority of people have always voted for continued union with Great Britain; the Unionist vote has always outstripped the Nationalist vote. That's why the IRA attempted to bomb NI into a united Ireland - because it knew fell well that it couldn't achieve it by the democratic process.
But I agree - both Loyalists and Republican terrorists committed awful crimes. I just don't think most people here can see the blood on both sides.

But also even though NI should have self-determination (i.e- referenda to decide on whether to be in UK/Ireland), historically Republicans have a marginally more legitimate claim than Loyalists, that might account for what you describe

@Doireboy1991 The loyalist acheivement was using their equally ruthless violence to block the IRA from being able to use their violence as political leverage and that is what brought the IRA to the negotiating table. Michael Stone also killed IRA members & Wright also had 3 IRA members killed in Gappagh, but they both also killed innocent people, same as the IRA take pride in talking about how they killed police/Army but ignore the civilians they butchered. No murder is justified, Full Stop!!
