  • fuck that shit, i have one of my 94 caddy and of course it doesnt work anymore so now my trunk is stuck open and not sealed so at any point in time someone could just steal my amp and subs...having said that is there any manual way to get it down?

  • @italianbroker1 Yes there is - if you feel like taking the power pulldown apart, you can remove the striker and its gear, and manually wind it back down. It will take a couple attempts to get it just right but once you do it will work just like a non-power trunk.

  • Also if you have not already, pull back the carpet/cover and try tapping on the body of the electric motor for the pulldown (the fat round cylinder part). This might free it up enough to work a few more times. If it does, close the trunk and do this: disconnect the car battery, open the trunk, unplug the power pulldown's wiring.

  • I had a 1991 Trans Am that had this feature. It was cool until it wore out. The parts for them are expensive!

  • Do you have the wiring diagram? I already have the pull down unit and the decklid latch, but I can't find the wiring diagram. Thanxs.

  • my car does that and i still don't understand what is the point of it

  • Its so you don't have to slam the trunk to make it close. Some cars the trunk is so airtight its hard to close. I just did it because its neato.

  • Hey this is cool. What actually brings the trunk down? Is it the little latch where the trunk closes in the center.

  • yup the bottom catch is motorized

  • lucky i cant even get mine work inside the car
