BUT, for a long time and not so far you tubed there is a fantastic entertainer called Phil Booth from the Edinburgh area. He not only has the voice to cover the range, this guy when i saw him was also totally in command of his audience through sheer talent.

The only similarity he holds with Mercury is the fact that he has a voice and can sing. But, and maybe its just my ear's rather good tuning, he does not sound like Mercury much, if at all. Doesn't project Mercury's lisp, intonation, et cetera. However, a pedant might remind me that Mercury didn't even sound as himself on occasion. At any rate, Mullen IS a good singer and it was a very good 'attempt' at one of my favorite Queen songs.

Also Morten Harket of AHA has brilliant range. Inf act he's got a wider range than Freddie. But Freddie is still the best singer ever and performer. If you listen to the Beatles you'll notice they all have great range especially shown in their harmonies.
