@LetThemFlyStudio Check the cause is not that the neighbour hsa a router conflicting with yours - (see your tray's network list in Windows) - if there is a conflict of IPs your next door router may be knocking you off-line. if he has the same ISP it may explain your problem.

My wireless router is right next to a cordless Telephone but I don't have any choice! I am limited as to where I can place the router by the length of the cables to the router and the positioning of the socket! I don't see how I'm supposed to have it high up somewhere when the cables don't reach that far at all! also I've never gotten anything to work though the sockets at the back! I'd love to have my PS£ hard wired but its just too much hassle!

I WOULDN'T say that this is the easiest router to set up, actually, the trendnet TEW-432BRP is far easier, it has less stuff you can do, but your not over-whelmed as you would be with one of these.

I have a Linksys E3000. it works fine for all my gaming but it's 200 dollars. if you buy a cheap router (like this Netgear piece of shit), expect to have all sorts of butt fuckingly retarded, ass backwards problems.  I had to reset mine 10 times a day because it got overloaded/overheated and would crash all the time.

I've tried everything I can to figure this out and its driving me crazy. Netgear refuses to even answer my one simple question w.o forcing me to suscribe to a one year tech support. I've always been able to use my wgr16v8 router easily but after switching to at&t my router's installation cd refuses to understand that my motorola modem exists. @3g00fy4 unfortunately you get what you pay for. I have a linksys e3000 now and it works flawlessly so far. it's a friggin beast of a router but I think it cost 180 dollars at the time. don't cheap out on your router and you'll avoid massive fucking headaches.

also, whatever router you buy, make sure it's well ventilated. overheating is apparently a common reason that routers fail.

1) This router emits a loud screeching noise any time it's running.

2) Wireless speeds are ridiculously slow.

3) Have to reset the router about once a day otherwise my wireless devices can't connect to it.

4) The router is HORRIBLE at distributing bandwidth between more than one device.

About the only positive aspect of this router is it's aesthetics.
