  • thumbs up if this is for mr.raciti's project

  • Really instructive. Congrats and thanks!

  • I recently got the NXT 2.0 and was thinking about buying more sensers and more parts but thought the 1st NXT was a better deal then buying the sensors seperately, so do you think I should do this?

  • @Atlas556 I'm not sure... which sensors do you want? and how many? Is the NXT 1.0 set even still for sale?

  • @chadcardwell I don't think it's still for sale, but I can easily buy it off of amazon.com. I wanted another smart brick, some more pieces, more motors, and the sound sensor(included in the NXT's first version). The downfall to this is that I already have some of the sensors incuded (ultrasonic and touch). I though this would be a better deal then buying everything seperately though

  • @Atlas556 the only extra sensor you need to buy is the sound sensor, the color sensor can act as a light sensor too

  • I have used this great video to introduce every class and camp I have run for LEGO Robotics - great job, Chad!

  • @legobotics Thanks! I'm glad they have been helpful. :)

  • Where or how to buy it?nice video :D

  • @805matu I bought mine directly from shop.lego.com

  • in 2000 they was a mindstorms rcx 1.0 1.5 2.0 so that was number 4 mindstorms

  • watta gay cell phone 3:15

  • Thanks for the help i got the 2.0 today for christmas and i spent all day looking for help =) subbed

  • the ultrasonic sensor uses ultrasonic sounds right? so the sound sensor can see if it is on or of?

  • I think I know what I wan't for xMas

  • 3 people made an automatic thumbs down bot and they accident turned this vid on and forgot to turn thr robot off lol

  • excellent tutorial, I was wondering if you could let me know what the best way to get an NXT to analyse data so that you can use the resulting variables to turn the motors on and off?

  • can you make a robot to do like anything you want? Like can you program a robot to do any task i want it to do? and is the nxt 2.0 a good one to get? Can you make an unlimited amount of robots that can do a bunch of different stuff? i know im asking alot of questions but i want to know if i can program a lego mindstorms nxt 2.0 robot to do anything i want it to and if its limited to the 4 robots it comes with

  • @sportsguy831 You are definitely NOT limited to the robot designs it comes with. Just search YouTube for LEGO Mindstorms and you will find hundreds of custom robots that do things ranging from flushing a toilet to balancing on two wheels like a Segway. Of course, some of the more advanced robots use additional sensors and building blocks and may be programmed with more advanced programming (like LeJOS), but in general you can still build a ton of stuff with the standard NXT pieces and software.

  • @chadcardwell cool i really want this now!

  • Hey Chad I have a queston, do you know how to make a remote control for a NXT? If so, please tell me how to. :)

  • thanks for the tutorial =]

we build lego robots all the time (i'm in a science program) which is a lot of fun :)

  • nice robot

  • nice simple robot :)

  • lego club shop

  • cool

  • I love this! It was thourough

  • hey 6 Lego bricks can be put together more than 900 billion ways

  • I thought it was triple A!

  • Is it possible to hook up two nxt bricks on one robot so that you can have more outputs and more inputs?

  • @trombonemassa yes, you can

  • 5/5*****

Realy nice video to introduce the Lego Mindstorms NXT!!

  • how long can it with 6 double A batteries?

  • To get more pieces buy lego technic sets

  • The items that he showed, is that all it is or do they give you more items? i mean more of the items?

  • There are more. The 1.0 kit comes with the four sensors shown, three motors, the NXT brick, 7 wires, a wire to connect your bot to the computer, and somewhere between 500 and 600 pieces including 4 wheels, two balls, connectors, axles, and gears. The one major thing the set is missing is pieces that are half bricks half technique. There are about 5 of those in the whole kit.

oh, and you also get all of the software on a disk and that test pad.

  • man I'm glad I found this video. I lost my user guide.

  • hey an you make a vid or tell me how to program the nxt to be wireless, like use a remote to drive an rc

  • You have to use Bluetooth. Google "NXT bluetooth"

  • or get another nxt intell brick

  • how many cables are in the kit?

  • im pretty sure 7

  • uhh sorry for leaving so many comments.... but i found and... TY!!!!!!!!

  • please can you say wher and the hole box to have searching but i dont find hear in sweden lego dont sell hear pleasse anyone help

ps beginner so if you can teach me i gonna be really happy

  • LEGO sells the NXT in Sweden. They also have the FIRST LEGO League (FLL) in Sweden. FLL is the best thing you can do with your NXT.

  • dude I'm looking every where to see where i can buy extra Lego pieces with out buying another box with the brick and sensors and such -.-...

  • A lot of people get extra pieces from purchasing TECHNIC sets, but even those are hard to find sometimes. I would check out the Lego Education online store. You may like product id: W979648

  • umm dat was a fast response

  • i cant seem to find it

  • BIONICLE sets work.

  • @pjwithbread8 in my lego store in churchil square there in small things under the nxt 2.0 box there inside plastic bags

  • @pjwithbread8 you might get some luck at a car boot sale just a thort

  • Chad! Your video is great thanks. :D it helped me a lot do more.:))

  • Great video. Very informative. Thank you.

  • Great Work On Your Video Chad

  • If You Download Lego Digital Designer(L.D.D)It Is Much Easier To Design.

  • nice its like a documentary of how to build mindstorms nxt.just what i was looking for.

  • me 2

  • Thanks, Chad! Excellent work.

  • very quiet

  • That was a lot of information, good job!!
